Abstract

Palm fly ash is waste in the palm oil industry. Palm fly ash has high content of silica. ZSM-5 is one of synthetic zeolite which used as catalyst. It can be synthesized from silica and alumina using hidrothermal method. Source of silica that can be used to ZSM-5 synthesis are sodium silicate, gelled silica and precipitated silica. the purpose of this research is to synthesis ZSM-5 using precipitated silica hydrothermally. The result was analyzed using FTIR. ZSM-5 can be synthesized using precipitated silica hydrothermally. Based on infrared spectrum,the product synthesis shows four characteristic of ZSM-5 characters.Key words : fly ash, silica, hydrothermal and ZSM-5

Abstract

Rhodamine B contributes significantly to environmental pollution, because it is nonbiodegradable, toxic and harmful to the environment. One effort to reduce the amount of Rhodamine B is the adsorption process. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of adsorption temperature, pH, adsorbent mass. Knowing the optimum conditions for reducing the levels of dye in the water, as well as determine the adsorption equilibrium modelsRhodamine B using fly ash oil modified with 1.4 NaOH as an adsorbent. fly ash modification processes are done by mixing fly ash and NaOH in the ratio 1: 4. The adsorption process isconducted by mixing fly ash oil and pH solution of rhodamine B. The optimum conditions for reducing the levels of rhodamine B in water is the adsorbent mass of 5 g/L, temperature of45°C and pH 2. Thermodynamic data such as ΔH, ΔG and ΔS were calculated. And the mechanism of rhodamine B dye adsorption by fly ash oil is dominated by Freundlich isotherm models representing physical adsorption.Keyword: Adsorption, Rhodamine B, Fly Ash, Isothermal Adsorption

Abstract

Membrane reactor is an alternative technology that is used in the manufacture of biodiesel, one of the advantages that the reaction and separation process takes place in a single stage simultaneous. This research aims to study the effect of the variation of the catalyst and mole ratio feed CPO off grade - methanol in biodiesel production, a pretreatment process performed on the raw materials that aim to reduce the FFA content CPO off grade, the results obtained pretreatment FFA content of 0.79%, then performed transesterification process which was held in a membrane reactor with a variation of the mole ratio of CPO off grade -methanol 1:12, 1:18, and 1:24, the concentration of the base catalyst 1% -wt, 1.5% -wt and 2% -wt, pressure transmembrane 2 bar and a temperature of 60 oC process. The results showed biodiesel production using membrane reactor reached 72.02% yield on the condition of the mole ratio of 1:18 with a concentration of 2 %-wt, characteristics of biodiesel produced meets the quality standards of biodiesel in Indonesia including biodiesel, densityis 860-884 kg/m3, viscosity of biodiesel is 5.14 to 5.76 mm2/s, Flash Point is 158-161 °C, Acid Numberis 0.62 to 0.75 mg-KOH/g.Keywords: biodiesel, CPO off grade, membrane reactor, mol ratio, catalyst concentration.

Abstract

Geopolimer hybrid dibuat dengan mengaktifkan abu terbang menggunakan alkali aktivator dan semen portland sebagai bahan pengganti sebagian abu terbang untuk perawatan pada suhu ruang. Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mengkaji kuat tekan mortar geopolimer abu terbang hybrid dengan menggunakan semen Portland, yaitu OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) dan PCC (Portland Composite Cement). Prosedur penelitian dimulai dengan pengujian karakteristik material yang digunakan, yaitu abu terbang dan agregat halus. Abu terbang yang digunakan berasal dari PLTU Ombilin Padang, Sumatera Barat. Sedangkan, agregat halus yang digunakan berasal dari Teratak Buluh, Kampar. Larutan aktivator yang digunakan NaOH 10M dan 12M, rasio modulus (Ms) 1,5 dan 2,5. Persentase penggantian abu terbang dengan semen yang digunakan adalah 10% dan 15%. Benda uji mortar berbentuk kubus berukuran 5x5x5 cm. Pengujian yang dilakukan meliputi uji kuat tekan mortar. Pengujian kuat tekan dilakukan pada umur 7 hari dan 28 hari perawatan suhu ruang. Hasil pengujian kuat tekan didapat nilai optimum pada mortar geopolimer abu terbang hybrid adalah variasi NaOH 10M, Ms 2,5 dan penggantian sebagian abu terbang dengan semen sebesar 15% pada umur 7 hari dan 28 hari perawatan suhu ruang, yaitu sebesar 8,27 MPa dan 13,33 MPa menggunakan OPC. Sedangkan, mortar geopolimer hybrid menggunakan PCC pada umur 7 hari dan 28 hari, yaitu sebesar 6,27 MPa dan 11,47 MPa. Abstract

Farm and agro wastes from area which population has their livehood from farming and agriculture will result in the environmental and health issues if there is lack treatment on those wastes. One of the solutions to overcome these problems is to convert farm and agro wastes into organic fertilizer, which is produced from living substances weathering (plants and animals). Organic fertilizers are available in the form of solid or liquid and contain a lot of organic materials than nutrient levels, thus can improve plant growth. Other advantages of organic fertilizer are cheaper than synthetic ones, environmentally friendly, and are able to decrease negative effects of chemical fertilizers. Organic fertilizer can be made individually or in group of people. The objectives of this activity are to introduce the knowledge and train rural community of Kecamatan Rambah Hilir, Desa Pasir Utama Kabupaten Rokan Hulu, Provinsi Riau in making organic fertilizer using farm and agro wastes. The methods use in this activity are through socialization and training on making organic fertilizer from farm and agro wastes to Desa Pasir Utama community. Organic fertilizer was made by mixing cow manure with straw cuts, followed by addition of palm sugar activated effective microorganisms 4 (EM4). The mixture was left to incubate for 4 weeks and aerated every three days to allow good fermentation. This community service activity supports government program in encouraging growth of reusing farm and agricultural wastes that will increase agricultural productivity of rural community.

Abstract

Pelaksana pelayanan publik adalah pejabat, pegawai, petugas, dan setiap orang yang bekerja di dalam organisasi. Pelaksana pelayanan publik bertanggung jawab memberikan pelayanan secara baik dan prima kepada masyarakat sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh metode praktek  dalam menulis teks prosedur kompleks  siswa kelas XI SMA Swasta Swadaya Hamparan Perak. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Swasta Swadaya Hamparan Perak yang berjumlah  32 siswa. Sehingga yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA  sebanyak 32 siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan model  one group pre test post test. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk menjaring data adalah tes essay dalam bentuk penugasan yaitu menulis teks prosedur kompleks. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji “t”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks prosedur kompleks dengan tanpa perlakuan metode praktek termasuk dalam kategori cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 68,1 sedangkan sesudah perlakuan metode praktek  termasuk dalam kategori baik dengan nilai rata-rata 79,5. Selanjutnya pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan thitung> ttabel atau 4,45> 2,04 pada taraf signifikan  = 0,05. Dengan demikian, telah terbukti bahwa hipotesis nihil (Ho) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima yaitu metode praktek lebih berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks prosedur kompleks siswa kelas XI SMA Swasta Swadaya Hamparan Perak.

Abstract

Biodiesel producted by transesterifiation reaction which on energy source. Biodiesel was developed in Indonesia as an anticipatis of energy crisis problem suppported by goverment national energy policy. This research is aimed to make biodiesel from cotton seed oil, studying the effect of agitation speed to the amount of biodiesel produced and determined the best catalyst activated by acid or base, and determined the characteristics of biodiesel produced. The transesterification process was occured at a temperature of 60oC, on weight of oil 100 grams, reaction time 1,5 hours, mole ratio of oil to methanol 1 : 9, catalyst concentration 0,5% -weight of oil for varions of agitation rate 400, 500 and 600 rpm, and variations of catalyst acid 0,47, 0,62 and 0,78% and alkaline activated with a concentration of 0,33, 0,44 and 0,66%. From the result was obtained the highest biodiesel yield of 95,45% for alkaline activated 0,66% for agitation speed of 400 rpm. Characterization of physical properties of biodiesel obtained here density of 878 kg/m3, 3,03 mm2/s kinematic viscosity, acid number 0.34 mg KOH/g sample, and the flash point 195oC.Keywords: biodiesel, clay catalysts, activation of acids and bases, transesterification

Abstract

Research on production biodiesel from kapok seed oil (ceiba pentandra) using an activated clay catalyst has been performed. It aimed to determine the effect of an activated clay catalyst on producing biodiesel, its quality and to study the effect of reaction time. Clay catalyst was activated by H2SO4 0.47%, 0.62%, 0.78% and NaOH with a concentration of 0.33%, 0.44%, 0.66%. Esterification with methanol in the ratio 1:12 with the addition of H2SO4 as much as 1% of the weight of oil. The next transesterification reaction, the kapok seed oil is reacted with methanol in the ratio of 1: 9 with the acids and bases activated clay catalyst. The reaction temperature of 60 °C, various of reaction time 1 hour, 1.5 hours and 2 hours. The results showed that the use of an activated clay catalyst H2SO4 0.78%, the reaction time of 1.5 hours to produce the highest yield 92.18%. Physical characteristics of biodiesel were obtained density 869 kg/m3, kinematic viscosity of 2.67 cSt, the acid number of 0.45 mg KOH/g sample and the flash point of 209oC. From the results was obtained biodiesel produced in compliance with the SNI 7182: 2015.Keywords: activation, biodiesel, clay, kapok seed oil, transesterification

Abstract

Bulan Ramadhan adalah momentum untuk meningkatkan intensitas kegiatan peribadatan seorang insan, pun sebagai momentum pendidikan bagi pelajar untuk dapat menjadi seseorang yang memiliki kemampuan mengendalkan hawa nafsunya dan mempunyai dorongan dan motivasi untuk senantiasa beramal shaleh. Hal tersebut semakin rizkan untuk dilakukan dengan lengangnya kegiatan belajar-mengajar di sekolah yang mengkhususkan bulan Ramadhan sebagai bulan Dinul Islam (Pengajaran Islam Intensif). Tujuan pengabdian agar dapat meningkatkan motivasi ibadah siswa melalui kegiatan pesantren kilat. Pengabdian dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 03 Tripe Jaya, Kampung Uyem Beriring, Kecamatan Tripe Jaya, Kabupaten Gayo Lues. Kegiatan pesantren kilat menjadi penting, demi menjaga semangat dan antusiasme ibadah siswa. Pesantren Kilat Uyem Beriring 2022 selanjutnya menjadikan siswa/siswi SD Negeri 03 Tripe Jaya menjadi insan yang terbiasa mengisi kegiatan Ramadhan dengan kegiatan ibadah.
