Abstract

When police work over a given time period is compared to different options, such as predetermined and mutually agreed-upon standards, targets, or criteria, the outcome is police performance. The performance of the National Police in enforcing the law in Indonesia still needs to be improved or improved. Based on E-Investigation Management in 2024, the total crime trend cases in 2024 reached 4,436 cases, with theft still being the most frequently occurring type of crime. The lack of work life balance and self-control could trigger the low performance of the National Police in several previous studies. Researchers researched 148 subjects, based on the results of analysis with Kendall Tau B, it showed that there was a very significant relationship between the work-life balance variable and performance. This means there is a significant positive relationship between work-life balance and the performance of investigators at the Central Kalimantan Regional Police. Then, self-control and performance showed that there was a very significant relationship between self-control and performance. This means that there is a very significant positive relationship between self-control and the performance of investigators at the Central Kalimantan Regional Police.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between social comparison, problematic internet use and social anxiety in adolescents. Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood, so that it makes a difference or change in the demands of the characteristics of development and growth. The research method used was quantitative correlation with a sample of 217 high school adolescents in Asemrowo District, Surabaya. Data collection instruments used three scales, namely the social anxiety scale, social comparison scale, and problematic internet use scale measured using a Likert scale. The results of the analysis show that social comparison and problematic internet use have a simultaneous relationship with social anxiety in adolescents. Teenagers with social comparison will compare themselves with others, supported by problematic internet use carried out in each teenager, so that social anxiety will increase. The next result shows that social comparison has a positive relationship with social anxiety in adolescents. This means that adolescents who compare themselves with others can increase anxiety and fear when in a social environment. The results of the third hypothesis show that problematic internet use has a positive relationship with social anxiety in adolescents. This means that teenagers who use the internet not according to their needs can increase their anxiety and fear.

Abstract

Emerging adulthood is the transition period from adolescence to adulthood, happening between the ages of 18 and 29. During this stage, people face many challenges, such as learning new skills and adapting to changes, especially final-year university students. The emotional struggle experienced in this phase is called the quarter-life crisis. This study aims to understand the relationship between emotion regulation, resilience, and the quarter-life crisis among final-year university students in Pekanbaru. Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 155 students and analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results show that emotion regulation and resilience are connected to the quarter-life crisis (F = 51.020, p < 0.05). Individually, emotion regulation (t = -4.321, p < 0.05) and resilience (t = -4.129, p < 0.05) have a negative relationship with the quarter-life crisis. This means that the better a person can regulate emotions and be resilient, the lower their chances of experiencing a quarter-life crisis.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between resilience and family social support with psychological distress in the breast cancer community at Reach to Recovery Surabaya (RRS). The study utilized a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. The results revealed that resilience and family social support had a significant negative influence on psychological distress. Resilience showed a coefficient of -0.528 (p = 0.000), while family social support showed a coefficient of -0.648 (p = 0.000). The contribution of these variables to psychological distress accounted for 49.9% (R² = 0.499). These findings indicate that individuals with high resilience and strong family social support are better equipped to manage psychological pressure. Emotional and practical support from families, along with adaptive capabilities, help individuals effectively cope with emotional challenges. This study offers insights for developing psychological interventions focused on enhancing resilience and family social support to improve the psychological well-being of cancer patients.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between Body Image and Self-Esteem with the tendency of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD) among adolescents using social media. The study involved 115 respondents aged 16–18 who were active social media users. A quantitative method with multiple linear regression was employed. Results indicate a significant relationship between Body Image and Self-Esteem on BDD tendencies (F = 50.669; p < 0.05). Partially, Body Image showed a significant positive relationship with BDD tendencies (t = 8.468; p < 0.05), while Self-Esteem had a significant negative relationship (t = -2.652; p < 0.05). Body Image contributed 40.4%, and Self-Esteem contributed 7.1%, with a combined total contribution of 47.5%. These findings demonstrate that nearly half of the variability in BDD tendencies can be explained by Body Image and Self-Esteem. The study highlights the role of social media in exacerbating body perception and self-esteem issues, particularly through unrealistic beauty standards. This study suggests the importance of social media literacy, improving Self- Esteem, and promoting positive Body Image to reduce BDD risk among adolescents.

Abstract

HIV remains a significant global health concern, often increasing the risk of psychological distress, including depression and anxiety. Anxiety, characterized by feelings of unease and excessive worry about future events, may be influenced by mindfulness and resilience. Mindfulness, which enhances present-moment awareness, has been shown to reduce anxiety, while resilience enables individuals to cope with stressors, facilitating better management of life and treatment. This quantitative correlational study involved 116 respondents, selected through saturated sampling. The study utilized Nevid et al.'s (2003) Anxiety Scale, Baer et al.'s (2006) Mindfulness Scale, and Reivich & Shatté's (2002) Resilience Scale. The results revealed a significant negative correlation between resilience, mindfulness, and anxiety (F = 20.473, p < 0.05), with these variables accounting for 26.6% of the variance in anxiety levels. Specifically, resilience negatively correlated with anxiety (t = -2.267, p = 0.025), as did mindfulness (t = -3.068, p = 0.003). These findings suggest that both resilience and mindfulness play a crucial role in reducing anxiety among HIV patients. Therefore, integrating mindfulness and resilience-based interventions into HIV care programs may be beneficial in alleviating anxiety in this population.
