Abstract

Dalam artikel sederhana ini diangkatlah permasalahan metafora dan metafora konseptual secara teoretis. Tujuannya adalah memperjelas posisi dan konsep metafora yang sering kali tumpang tindih, baik dengan majas lain ataupun perbedaan dalam beberapa konsep metafora yang lain. Metode kerja yang dilakukan adalah dengan membandingkan antarmajas yang mirip atau sama dengan majas metafora. Konsep metafora dalam bingkai linguistik kognitif adalah pembahasan selanjutnya. Simpulannya ialah bahwa antara metafora sebagai majas dan metafora konseptual sangat berlainan meskipun dulu berasal dari ide yang sama.

Abstract

Masih banyak ditemukan kesalahan atau penyimpangan dalam penulisan afiks yang dilakukan peserta didik karena kurangnya pemahaman terhadap kaidah tata bahasa yang digunakan atau terdapat faktor lain seperti kekhilafan atau kecerobohan yang dilakukan peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan wujud penulisan afiks dalam teks negosiasi hasil karya peserta didik kelas X SMA N 1 Grobogan tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode simak dengan teknik catat. Data disajikan berupa kalimat yang mendeskripsikan wujud kesalahan penulisan afiks dalam teks negosiasi hasil karya peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Grobogan Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan terbanyak terdapat pada kesalahan penulisan prefiks dengan persentase 41,12%.

Abstract

Research about exploitation of female author toward woman on 2000s period litterature is so important for mapping of litterature history, reading refereces, and refereces for teacher litterature. This reseacrh will reveal how does the form of female author exploitation toward woman, all at once to reveal a track record of the author life. The approach used on this research is receptive approach in litterature. Receptive approach is one of approcah that use teh reader point of view to get some reseach datas. The sources of the research are litterature texts produced by female author on 2000s period and litterature readers that contain woman exploitation by female author on 2000s period. Several litterature that represented delegation of female author has been decided to limit the extent of data source. They are Ayu Utami (Saman), Dewi Lestari (Supernova: Ksatria, Putri, dan Bintang Jatuh), Fira Basuki (Jendela-jendela), dan Djenar Mahesa Ayu (Jangan Main-main (Dengan Kelaminmu)). Based on the result, according to the reader reception, female authors who exploit woman, on average have a way of exposure vulgar story, put?é?á woman life on the hedonic sphere, have a denotative style of language (use a less conotative), so brave to expose female vital organ, and not hesitate to talking about ?óÔé¼?£vagina?óÔé¼Ôäó and breast. Whereas the conclustion from the author?óÔé¼Ôäós life track record, those female authors on average are within biologically productive age. About their education, those authors are educated people and have a job in political sector. However, they often againt such of problem with family, especially the problem of divorce. ?é?á Key words: woman exploitation, female author, 2000s period litterature, feminisme.

Abstract

Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah pentingnya mempelajari metafora, karena metafora mampu digunakan dalam segala kondisi dan situasi manusia. Secara tidak langsung, beberapa individu menggunakan metafora dalam berkomunikasi namun individu ini tidak menyadari bahwa ia sudah menggunakan metafora pada pengucapannya. Adapun, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah  untuk mendeskripsikan metafora konseptual pada teks negosiasi karya peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 6 Semarang Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Hasil penelitan ini ialah  adanya penggunaan metafora konseptual pada teks negosiasi karya peserta didik berjumlah 36 kata. Terdiri dari 5 kata yang mengandung Metafora Orientasional, 31 kata yang mengandung Metafora Ontologis dan  tidak ada kata yang mengandung Metafora Struktural. Saran yang dapat penulis sampaikan ialah peserta didik diharap meningkatkan kemampuan menulis sebuah teks agar peserta didik selalu berpikir kreatif sehingga menghasilkan sebuah teks dengan baik.Kata kunci: Metafora, Metafora Konseptual, Teks Negosiasi, Menulis

Abstract

Regarding the seemingly ignored corpus for pedagogical contexts, it is necessary to investigate how prospective English teachers perceive corpus and its use for language teaching. From the description of the perceptions, it is then possible to consider further pedagogical implementation. This study thus examines English Education Department students' perceptions of corpus use for English language teaching in the Indonesian context. There are 31 participants from the fifth-semester students of an English Education Department in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The perception data were collected through questionnaires and interviews after some practice of corpus use. The questionnaires and interviews show that most students perceived corpus positively and found corpus application for language teaching beneficial and essential, albeit unfamiliar with corpus. Due to ignorance, there are some difficulties faced by the students. However, this study shows the advantages of using corpus for teaching language outweighed the challenges. Thus, it should be considered to equip students in language education departments with corpus lessons intensively.

Abstract

A well-designed textbook can enhance the teaching and learning of a foreign language and it should also consider the authenticity aspect of the target language. This paper aims at studying the use of future tense markers (i.e. will, be going to) in three EFL textbooks for senior high school in Indonesia and comparing to one of the biggest English corpora, Corpus of Contemporary American English, to investigate the authenticity of the textbooks. This study employs corpus-based analysis as it focuses on the frequency and collocates of future tense markers. This study, however, delimits the scope in conversations of the textbooks and the spoken sub-corpus. It shows that, although ‘will’ and ‘be going to’ are used in the textbooks and the corpus, there are some distinctions observed, be they the frequency of use or the collocates preceding the future tense markers. As for the semantic of the verb collocates, there seem to have many differences. These differences then need to be revisited and re-evaluated to improve Indonesian EFL textbooks materials to equip the English learners in a foreign language context with actual language use.

Abstract

Berbicara ragam gaul bahasa Indonesia sekarang ini pastilah pikiran tertuju pada “bahasa” Alay. Jauh sebelum itu, sebenarnya ragam gaul telah ada. Hanya, Alay yang sekarang muncul adalah perubahan dari ragam gaul pada zaman dulu. Karena beberapa hal, bentuk dan aturan pemakaian ragam ini dimungkinkan berubah. Pemakaian pronomina persona juga dimungkinkan mengalami atau pergeseran (shift). Pronomina persona kau atau saya, misalnya, akan sungguh terasa janggal bila diucapkan remaja zaman sekarang dalam konteks percakapan normal dengan remaja lain di Jakarta. Oleh karena itu, makalah sederhana ini membahas tentang pronomina persona apa saja yang mengalami pergeseran serta bagaimana pergeseran pemakaian pronomina persona dalam bahasa Indonesia “gaul”. Dengan metode kualitatif dan data dari berbagai sumber (terutama film), diharapkan menghasilkan gambaran yang cukup tentang pergeseran ini serta mengapa hal ini sampai terjadi.

Abstract

As is generally the case for jargon in other professional fields, jargon used by stock traders also has distinctive characteristics. This simple article reviews the jargon by classifying and interpreting comprehensively in order to explain the meanings embodied. The stock trader jargon on Telegram is observed with regard to the context of the use of the language. The method of collecting the data were done by being involved as part of the traders discussing and gaining knowledge about stock on Telegram for almost ten months. During that time, the data were collected. This study used contextual interpretation. Based on the observation towards stock traders jargon, it is obvious that the jargon used is various and covers nearly all stock trading activities. Sebagaimana umumnya jargon pada bidang-bidang profesi lain, jargon profesi pedagang saham mempunyai kekhasan. Artikel sederhana ini mengulas jargon yang dimaksud dengan klasifikasi dan penafsiran yang disusun sedemikian rupa guna menjelaskan arti-arti yang terkandung di dalamnya. Jargon pedagang saham di Telegram ini diamati dengan memperhatikan konteks pemakaian bahasanya. Metode penyediaan data dilakukan dengan peneliti turut menjadi bagian dari para pedagang yang berdiskusi dan mendapatkan banyak pengetahuan tentang saham di Telegram selama hampir sepuluh bulan lamanya, lalu diambillah peristilahan yang dimaksud dengan jargon ini. Analisis yang digunakan dengan penafsiran kontekstual. Berdasarkan pengamatan terhadap jargon saham diketahui bahwa jargon-jargon saham cukup bervariasi dan mencakup hampir keseluruhan proses dagang saham.

Abstract

Along with verbs, nouns are very crucial—among other lexical and functional categories—in arranging linguistic constructions. Thus, there are many ways to change words from other word classes into nouns or known as nominalization. This paper aims at describing the similarities and differences of nominalization in English, Indonesian, and Javanese. By contrasting three different languages, this study can give another insight on nominalization, especially for language teachers and students of language. This study employed a qualitative method in accordance with the type of data collected (i.e. clauses containing nominalized units). The data were collected using metode simak for English language data and researchers’ intuition as the native speakers of Indonesian and Javanese. English language data were collected from English grammar books. The approach used is contrastive analysis to compare three languages under study. The method of analysis is metode padan translational and metode agih. The results of the analysis show that generally, these three languages use affixation, particles, and conversion as the nominalizers. English, however, differs from Indonesian and Javanese since it doesn’t have reduplication as nominalizer and the use of particle is limited to the initial position. Unlike English, Indonesian and Javanese tend to be alike and it is plausible since both are from the same language family. In the comparison, it is figured out that there are three main similarities and six differences of the realizations of nominalization in English, Indonesian, and Javanese. The results are plausible due to the unrelatedness of English with Indonesian and Javanese.

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia has two types of pronouns: bound pronouns and free pronouns. The entanglement of its form is not only based on the contraction that occurs in the full words that cause the occurence of simple clitics, but it is also prominent to review the entanglement based on the syntactic structure and its prevalence. The problem is on the justification of this on the justification of this linguistic unit. If a linguistic unit has been justified as a bound pronoun is indeed a free form (free pronoun), and certain syntactic environtment will enable the free pronoun to be clitic. Therefore, the simple paper will attempt to analize the entanglement of pronouns based on phonological characteristics and syntactic analysis.
