Abstract

Binatang tahan palu, manusia tahan kias: It is no need to teach people through violence as it can be done through the use of satire or metaphor. Proverb is considered as local wisdom. The satire using animal metaphor is considered as a force in identifying local knowledge on the behaviors of animals and also the attitudes of the local society towards the animal to satirize the society members who deviate from the customary conventions. That is, there are demands from the society as a whole so that the deviant members of society can be improved through satire, primarily using the concepts taken from animals around. Taking the concept of animals around can then be regarded as a representation of the attitude or perception of society as a whole to the animals around them. Thus, it can be said that animals have an important role in the people’s culture of a nation. This paper will review the metaphors in proverbs using the concept of animals in order to know people’s perception of the animals around.

Abstract

The main discussion of this article is related to the attachment of enclitic pronoun. The attachment of enclitic pronoun is not only limited to word, but also phrase.  Attachment enklitik on noun consist of  monomorphemic noun, polimorphemic noun and compound noun type.  Attachment enclitic on verb consists of monomorphemic verb, verb of me-N verb of beR-, and verb of di-. Attachment enclitic may also occur in other pronouns. In addition personal pronoun, pronouns can be as demonstrative pronoun and interogative pronoun. However, clitik pronoun has some limitation in its attachment. Thus, this paper aims at describing these problems.

Abstract

This study is about how stock prices are perceived by capital market players. Lakoff and Johnson's theory of conceptual metaphor is used to overcome the problem. The data sources are online mass media and stock conversation groups on Telegram because they are considered as the representatives of metaphor use of stock prices. According to data analysis, there is no non - metaphorical expression about stock prices. The dy- namic of stock prices covers some aspects, including orientational metaphor, dualism and three - ism con- cepts, stock as object and subject of battle, moving stock prices, and ontological metaphors of stock prices.

Abstract

Latar belakang dari penelitian ini karena masih banyak krisis karakter pada anak atau peserta didik. Dilihat dari masih banyak tidak kejahatan contohnya bullying, pergaulan bebas, porno aksi, pornografi dan masih banyak peserta didik yang kurang atau tidak sopan terhadap orang tua atau guru. Tujan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran Amanat dan nilai-nilai karakter yang terdapat pada cerita kancil yang terdapat dalam buku Kumpulan Cerita Rakyat Nusantara serta mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan amanat dan nilai-nilai karakter cerita kancil dalam buku Kumpulan Cerita Rakyat Nusantara sebagai muatan pembelajaran teks Fabel untuk peserta didik SMP kelas VII, yang dilatar belakangi oleh pendidikan karakter di SMP (Sekolah Menengah Pertama) dimana merupakan pendidikan yang paling mendasar dalam membangun kepribadian dan karakter seseorang dengan mencontoh dan menerapkan, karena peserta didik SMP terutama kelas VII merupakan tahap awal dalam perkembangan dalam mempelajari hal positif dan membenuk karakter, sehingga materi yang tepat untuk pendidikan karakter bagi peserta didik SMP kelas VII adalah teks fabel. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kepustakaan, pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi dokumentasi pustaka yang dilakukan terhadap dokumen berupa arsip yang berkaitan dengan amanat dan nilai-nilai karakter dari teks fabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa berdasarkan deskripsi data, amanat dan nilai-nilai karakter belandaskan budaya bangsa dapat ditemukan pada cerita kancil yang ada dalam buku Kumpulan Cerita Rakyat Nusantara karya Yudhistira Ikranegara, data amanat ditemukan disetiap cerita kancil dan terdapat 22 data nilai karakter berlandaskan budaya bangsa yang ditemukan.

Abstract

Lexical bundles are functional units that are essential to building texts. However, lexical bundles vary due to some aspects, e.g., nativity, professionalism, text genre, etc. This study explored functional categories of lexical bundles in EFL written production, i.e., argumentative essays, focusing on 3-, 4-, and 5-word sequences employed by English major students in Indonesia. The data were taken from a learner corpus comprising 169 argumentative essays with 87.939 tokens. The lexical bundles were identified by using computerized and manual procedures. The identified bundles were then classified into functional categories and subcategories by Hyland. The results show that all functional categories were identified in the learner corpus proving the importance of those functions in students’ essays. Regarding the distribution, research-oriented bundles are the most frequent bundles in the corpus, while text-oriented bundles are the least frequent. Although all functional categories were found, the structuring signals (a subcategory of text-oriented bundles) were absent in the corpus. Moreover, this study found the gap between tokens and types of each bundle function, indicating the restricted variants of bundles used by the learners. Considering the low frequency of text-oriented bundles, the absence of structuring bundles, and restricted bundles, thus the exposure of more lexical bundles serving multiple functions in writing materials is necessary, especially bundles used for organizing and structuring texts.

Abstract

Abstract. This research conducted to determine the perception of high school students regarding the quality of Indonesian learning. From that, the researcher formulated the statement of the problem in this study is how the perceptions of high school students regarding the quality of Indonesian language learning media. This research was aimed at describing students' perceptions of the quality of Indonesian language learning media. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection method used in this study is documentation and interviews with listening and note-taking techniques. The listening technique was carried out to listen to the perceptions of high school students regarding the quality of Indonesian language learning media. The note-taking technique is to record several forms of relevance to the research from the learning process. The interview was conducted in order to determine the students' perceptions of the quality of Indonesian language learning media. Based on the results of the research, there are 36 students' perceptions of them were found. First, the online learning process is less effective because students cannot interact directly in the learning process. Second, face-to-face learning are disturbed by the weakening of the internet signal. Third, face-to-face learning is more effective than online.Keywords : Learners, online learning, pandemic, perception Abstrak.Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi untuk mengetahui persepsi peserta didik SMA mengenai kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini ialah bagaimanakah perspesi peserta didik SMA mengenai kualitas media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia? Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi peserta didik mengenai kualitas media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah metode dokumentasi dan wawancara dengan teknik simak dan teknik catat. Teknik simak dilakukan untuk menyimak persepsi peserta didik SMA mengenai kualitas media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. yang akan diteliti. Teknik catat adalah mencatat beberapa bentuk revelan bagi penelitiannya dari proses pembelajaran. Wawancara tersebut dilakukan agar mengetahui persepsi peserta didik mengenai kualitas media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian Persepsi Peserta Didik SMA mengenai kualitas Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di temukan 36 persepsi peserta didik diantaranya. Pertama proses pembelajaran secara daring kurang efektif, dikarenakan peserta didik tidak dapat berinteraksi langsung dalam proses pembelajaran. Kedua pembelajaran tatap muka, peserta didik terganggu oleh melemahnya sinyal internet. Ketiga pembelajaran secara offline lebih efektif dari pada online.Kata Kunci : Peserta didik, pembelajaran daring, pandemi, persepsi

Abstract

Despite the growing recognition of corpus in language teaching and learning, the importance of teaching materials informed by corpus investigation has not been widely acknowledged, especially in the EFL context. In teaching grammar, it is essential to provide authentic materials for the learners indicating both grammaticality and appropriateness. This study investigates students’ perceptions of the use of corpus-informed grammar materials and the strengths and drawbacks of these materials. The participants were 40 Basic Structure students at their first-year university level. The data were collected using questionnaires and interviews after the participants attended seven meetings with Real Grammar as the book used in the classroom. The data were then coded, categorized, and analyzed to describe how the students perceived the materials. The present study showed that most students have a positive attitude toward the corpus-informed grammar book since it enables them to know the appropriate context of use related to the register (spoken or written). Corpus-informed materials have several strengths, such as describing the register-specific and frequency information, improving language learning awareness, learning motivation, critical thinking, and many more. However, corpus-informed materials should not be the only thing to rely on, so lecturers or instructors should provide adequate explanations for the materials and corpus research. These results show that it is necessary to promote the use of corpus-informed materials in EFL classrooms, including grammar classes. However, the teachers should also be trained on how corpus works, and corpus-related terms and the use of corpus-informed materials should be reconsidered for the lower level of learners.

Abstract

Masih banyak ditemukan kesalahan atau penyimpangan dalam penulisan afiks yang dilakukan peserta didik karena kurangnya pemahaman terhadap kaidah tata bahasa yang digunakan atau terdapat faktor lain seperti kekhilafan atau kecerobohan yang dilakukan peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan wujud penulisan afiks dalam teks negosiasi hasil karya peserta didik kelas X SMA N 1 Grobogan tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode simak dengan teknik catat. Data disajikan berupa kalimat yang mendeskripsikan wujud kesalahan penulisan afiks dalam teks negosiasi hasil karya peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Grobogan Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan terbanyak terdapat pada kesalahan penulisan prefiks dengan persentase 41,12%.

Abstract

Research about exploitation of female author toward woman on 2000s period litterature is so important for mapping of litterature history, reading refereces, and refereces for teacher litterature. This reseacrh will reveal how does the form of female author exploitation toward woman, all at once to reveal a track record of the author life. The approach used on this research is receptive approach in litterature. Receptive approach is one of approcah that use teh reader point of view to get some reseach datas. The sources of the research are litterature texts produced by female author on 2000s period and litterature readers that contain woman exploitation by female author on 2000s period. Several litterature that represented delegation of female author has been decided to limit the extent of data source. They are Ayu Utami (Saman), Dewi Lestari (Supernova: Ksatria, Putri, dan Bintang Jatuh), Fira Basuki (Jendela-jendela), dan Djenar Mahesa Ayu (Jangan Main-main (Dengan Kelaminmu)). Based on the result, according to the reader reception, female authors who exploit woman, on average have a way of exposure vulgar story, put?é?á woman life on the hedonic sphere, have a denotative style of language (use a less conotative), so brave to expose female vital organ, and not hesitate to talking about ?óÔé¼?£vagina?óÔé¼Ôäó and breast. Whereas the conclustion from the author?óÔé¼Ôäós life track record, those female authors on average are within biologically productive age. About their education, those authors are educated people and have a job in political sector. However, they often againt such of problem with family, especially the problem of divorce. ?é?á Key words: woman exploitation, female author, 2000s period litterature, feminisme.
