Abstract

Coffee is one of the drinks that are often consumed by the public Indonesia. Indonesian Coffee and Cacao Research Institute (ICCRI) is a national coffee and cocoa research and development institution has 2 superior Arabica coffee seeds, namely Andungsari 2K Arabica Coffee and Komasti (Andungsari 3 Composite). In general, the sequence of dry processing of coffee cherries includes fruit picking, fruit sorting, fruit drying, pulping and hulling. Next is the roasting process before it becomes coffee grounds. The roasting process converts unsavory raw coffee beans into a drink with a delicious aroma and taste. The perfection of coffee roasting is influenced by 2 factors, namely heat and time, equipment and tools roasting and quality of coffee beans. From the results of treatments 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 minutes, coffee with city roast criteria was produced in the 7th treatment, namely 14 minutes, with the first crack at 11.30 minutes at 154 °C, the color of the beans dark chocolate, has the most popular taste. For treatment 8 (14 minutes) and 9 (18 minutes) the color is more black, oily and smokey, the taste is more espresso. The roasting equipment used is in the dark roast category at a temperature of 170-195 °C.

Abstract

This endeavor regarding environmental sustainability is consistently produced by IMM Jember Regency. Including organic waste management can be done with simple, cheap, effective and efficient technology by IMM. It's just that IMM environmental activists still do not have the standard ability to educate the public to apply this Takakura technology. The identification results show that there are two problems faced by members of the Muhammadiyah Student Association of Jember Regency, namely first, IMM activists do not understand how Takakura technology works, secondly IMM activists still do not have the skills to apply this Takakura technology. The purpose of this activity is first, to improve the understanding of IMM activists about takukura technology. The second objective is to improve the skills of IMM activists to apply Takakura technology. Methods of Implementation Activities are carried out by preparing tools and materials, providing guidance and counseling, providing and simulating the making of Takakura technology. At the end of the activity, an evaluation of the success of the community service program was carried out. The process and stages of applying Takakura technology given to the Environmental activists of the Muhammadiyah Student Association have been able to improve the ability of participants very significantly. Therefore, this activity is considered to have succeeded in empowering environmental activists of the Muhammadiyah Student Association of Jember Regency.

Abstract

Learning on Monera material shows low learning outcomes due to the abstract and complex characteristics of the material and the limited learning resources used. This study aims to develop an E-LKPD based on Problem-Based (PBL) on Monera material. The research method used is development research with the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study population consisted of 360 grade X students at SMAN 3 Jember. The sample was selected through a purposive sampling technique consisting of a small group experiment with 6 students and a large group experiment with 36 students. The research instruments included expert validation sheets, integrated learning outcome tests of cognitive levels C1-C6 in the form of pre-tests and post-tests, E-LKPD, and student response questionnaires. Data were collected through observations, tests, and questionnaires, and analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results of the study indicate that the developed product is proven to be valid, effective, and practical in improving students' cognitive abilities, with an N-gain score of 0.72 in a small-scale trial which is included in the effective category and 0.82 in a large-scale trial which is included in the very effective category, as well as a practicality level of 86.51% and 80% respectively which are in the very practical category. Therefore, the developed E-LKPD can serve as an alternative digital learning resource for teaching abstract biology topics at the high school level.

Abstract

Plant diversity in agricultural landscapes plays a vital role in maintaining ecosystem sustainability and local food security. This study aims to analyze the utilization, management, and conservation of plant diversity by the Using Indigenous community in Kemiren Village, Banyuwangi. A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. A total of 10 informants (2 key informants and 8 recommended informants) were selected using purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. The informant selection criteria were traditional elders, local farmers, and the Using community of Kemiren Village who possessed local knowledge regarding the types and uses of plant diversity found in their rice fields. Data validity was tested using cross-reference information, repeated information, and data triangulation. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively. The research results show that the community uses 23 plants for food, medicine, traditional ceremonies, animal feed and building materials. Plant management is carried out through land clearing, seed preparation, planting, maintenance, and harvesting. The steps combining traditional and modern technique, and supported of local rituals such as labuhan and adeg-adeg.  Conservation practices include the use of organic fertilizers, post-harvest waste management, crop diversification, natural pest control, and water management based on local wisdom. The integration of local knowledge and conservation practices has been shown to play a role in conserving biodiversity, supporting food security, and promoting sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Teaching materials play an important role in supporting the effectiveness of biology learning. Along with the development of digital technology, e-modules have become innovative teaching materials that enable more flexible, independent, and interactive learning. This study aims to determine the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of a biology e-module that integrates the local of Jember coffee and contains Islamic characters in the material of biodiversity. This research is development research (Research and Development) using the ADDIE model. The study was conducted from July to November 2025 at SMA Negeri 2 Jember. The trial subjects included six students in the small group and all students of grades X-8 in the large group. The results of the validation showed a validity level of 89% with a very valid category. The results of the practicality test showed a percentage of student responses of 87.11% in the small group and 83.12% in the large group with a very practical category. The effectiveness of the e-module is indicated by the N-gain value of 0.53 in the small group and 0.58 in the large group with a moderate category. Thus, the e-module is declared valid, practical, and quite effective for use as biology teaching material in high school. These findings contribute to the provision of multidimensional teaching materials that align science content with Jember coffee local wisdom and the strengthening of students' Islamic character.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out with the aim of overcoming the obstacle of the lack of preparedness of teachers at Muhammadiyah Kaliwates Elementary School in managing science laboratories and operating basic science teaching aids. Through this training or technical guidance, teachers were equipped so that they could later manage science laboratories in elementary schools optimally. The methods used in this community service included providing classical technical guidance on laboratory management standards and hands-on training on the use of science teaching aids. The participants were eight teachers from Muhammadiyah Kaliwates Elementary School and one principal. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in the participants' cognitive understanding, as evidenced by an increase in the average score from 56.43 in the initial test to 82.86 in the final test. In addition, observations during the practical sessions showed that the educators were able to assemble and operate various science instruments independently, thereby boosting their confidence in designing inquiry-based learning. This activity was concluded to have successfully equipped educators with essential managerial competencies and instructional fluency. This capacity building directly prepared the school institution to welcome the operationalization of new science laboratory facilities to realize an applied and student-centered learning process.
