Abstract

The selection of public figures as an icon of public information delivery important role for the effectiveness of communication. This was also done by Indonesia Government by appointing Maudy Ayunda as Indonesia's spokesperson in the G20 Presidency. In order to ensure information conveyed properly, an approach using the right communication style is needed. This research was conducted to explain how Udayana University Students perceive Maudy Ayunda's communication style as a spokesperson in the G20 Presidency Press Release. The method used in this study is descriptive quantitative by using S-O-R (Stimus-Organism-Respons) Theory. The sampling technique used is non-probability which focuses on purposive sampling with data collection techniques using questionnaires. Based on the results of research on 130 respondents, the average score of respondents' answers was 4.26, which means that Udayana University students have a very positive perception of the communication style used by Maudy Ayunda in the G20 Presidency Press Release.

Abstract

Advertising can be an effective marketing medium to reach the target market. Effective advertising is the kind of advertising that gets the attention of the right target markets to get people to makes purchases or use a product. Shopee became the largest eCommerce brand to spend on television advertising during the January-September 2019 periods. In the meantime, Shopee also uses Youtube as media to advertise. This study aims to compare Shopee advertisements on Television and Youtube in Denpasar City. Non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling method is the sampling techniques that is used in this study. The data in this study were obtained by distributing questionnaires whose results were measured using a Likert scale. This research uses the arithmetic mean analysis technique and T-Test test. The results showed there is differences in effectiveness and stated that Shopee advertisements on Youtube were more effective than Shopee advertisements on television in Denpasar City.

Abstract

The research objective of this study was to examine the strategy employed by the @kpop4planet campaign in raising awareness among Generation Z about the global climate crisis. The study utilised a qualitative methodology with a descriptive approach. Data collection involved online interviews and observations. The Nowak and Warneryd Digital Campaign Models were used to analyse the campaign strategy implemented by @kpop4planet through social media content dissemination, focusing on cultivating awareness among Generation Z regarding the global climate crisis. The results of the study indicate that the virtual community @kpop4planet effectively executed its communication strategy through the No K-Pop On A Dead Planet campaign. The campaign utilised written content, photos, and videos on social media platforms to not only raise awareness but also to encourage Generation Z to develop an affinity for the environment similar to their admiration for their favourite K-Pop idols.

Abstract

Pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru-guru SD dan SMP yang masih minim dalam melakukan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dan mempublikasikan artikel ilmiah menyebabkan kesulitan untuk mengurus kenaikan pangkat. Oleh karena itu,  pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan PTK dan penulisan artikel ilmiah bagi guru-guru SD dan SMP. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini yaitu metode pelatihan, diskusi, dan demonstrasi. Pelatihan ini melibatkan 13 guru-guru SD dan SMP yang berada di Kabupaten Merauke, Provinsi Papua Selatan. Tim pelaksana pengabdian ini melakukan evaluasi untuk mengetahui pemahaman guru dengan cara menyebar angket melalui googleform untuk mengetahui pemahaman guru terkait PTK serta teknik penulisan artikel ilmiah yang baik. Hasil pelatihan mendemonstrasikan bahwa 13 guru memiliki pemahaman yang baik terkait dengan pengetahuan PTK dan penulisan artikel melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan skor penilaian di tingkat persetujuan antara 6 dan 7. Selanjutnya, 10 guru berhasil menulis artikel hasil PTK yang selanjutnya didampingi untuk melakukan submit artikel di jurnal nasional. Pelatihan ini disimpulkan berhasil karena mampu memberikan pengetahuan yang berharga bagi guru-guru SD dan SMP dalam melaksanakan PTK dan menulis artikel ilmiah.

Abstract

Technological disruption has driven changes in the media and journalism industry, affecting the workflow in the newsroom. One emerging practice in the newsroom is the application of search engine optimization (SEO). This practice raises concerns about editorial decisions being directed toward topics that are "popular and easily clickable". Tribun-Bali.com is one of the biggest news portals in Bali that implements SEO. This study aims to depict the hierarchy of influences on the implementation of SEO in the Tribun-Bali.com newsroom. It is a qualitative descriptive study that employs interview methods with key informants. Utilizing the hierarchy of influences theory proposed by Pamela J. Shoemaker and Stephen D. Reese, the findings of this research reveal that the organizational influence level dominates the implementation of SEO in the editorial space of Tribun-Bali.com, and it is closely related to the company's economic goal. It is followed by the influences of media routine, extra-media, ideology, and individual level.

Abstract

Tourism and agriculture are leading sectors of development in Bali Province. Before Bali’s economy relies heavily on tourism sector, agriculture was a major driver of economic growth. However, with so many challenges of land adjustment and use, and the increase tendency of agricultural land conversion into non-agricultural purpose, the growth of the agricultural sector gradually decreased. Declining of agriculture domain might cause a challenge for Bali because agriculture is not just an activity of land cultivation, but it has related more as spirit or the essential substances of Balinese cultural identity. One of the agricultural universal icons is the Subak system, which has named as world cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2012. Thus, to ensure the sustainability of the agricultural and tourism in Bali, the effort to combine both fields through development of Subak educational tourism becomes relevant. This idea is based on the perspectives that agricultural and tourism areas are interrelated systems. Tourism in Bali is counting on how Bali can preserve its natural and cultural attractions, this include the agrarian culture and lifestyle. The emergence of knowledge-based society, that encourage travellers to be actively involved and participate to fulfill their desire of learning and understanding others culture, has greatly contributed to development of this special interest tourism. Study indicated that Subak educational tourism can be applied toward sustainability as it incorporated the aspect of natural and socio-cultural conservation and could offer economic benefits for the well-being of the local community.
