Abstract

ABSTRACT Wattpad is a social media including social media category with the main characteristics of the social networking site is user-generated-content. New media give rise to participatory culture, whichis participatory culture is an example of fan culture or fandom, where fans not only consume but also produce and distribute. Like fans who are author Chanbaekshipper, which is OTP fandom with slash pairing using Wattpad to process media content fandom (fanfiction). This research aims to identify and explain the motivation author Chanbaekshipper in using Wattpad. The method used is descriptive method which is a qualitative research. The results from this study is that there are couple of motivation author chanbaekshipper in using Wattpad, interpersonal utility, passtime, information seeking, convenience and entertainment. Author chanbaekshipper not only act as producers who produces fanfiction but they also consumers who consume and a disributor who distributes the fanfiction that they created Wattpad. Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of uncontrolled mass media leads to information lying or hoax. There are a total of 800 thousand hoax spreading sites in Indonesia that were revealed in the year 2017. Hoax cause dangers that can cause panic in the public. Facebook becomes an informational channel that contains the highest hoax content in the new media. The high phenomenon of this hoax caused the curiosity of researchers to measure the attitude of the people of Denpasar to Hoax on Facebook. According to Azwar, attitudes can be measured by distinguishing three components, namely cognitive, affective, and conative. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method. Technical sampling is stratified proportional. The analytical techniques used are statistic descriptive. Results showed that on the cognitive components, the community of Denpasar has excellent in addressing hoax on Facebook. However, it has enough affective of curiosity and is quite a contemplative in addressing Hoax on Facebook. Keywords: Attitude, Denpasar, Facebook, Hoax

Abstract

ABSTRACT Individuals will be treated to a variety of choices and decisions that must be taken in life. Like the decisions taken in the Game whose purpose is for entertainment. Game is one of the new digital media that has a function as entertainment, and individuals who play games with high intensity of time are called gamers. One game that has a decision making process simulation is Life is Strange. The results indicate Feeling and belief affect the judgment of gamers to the characters in the game Life is Strange. This assessment is a factor that influences how all four gamers make decisions throughout the game. When gamers' judgment of one character in the game is bad, the decision taken is a decision that will harm the character. Vice versa, if gamers judge the character of the other person is good then the decision taken will be beneficial for the character. Abstract

ABSTRACT Various kinds of content are available on Youtube to be watched, such as a vlog content about bikers that are used as a means of information. Some riders of bikers in Vlog RG700 showed a habit which made another riders felt uncomfortable. A sign that represented discomfort by riders in the RG700 vlog was analyzed using John Fiske's Semiotic Theory. The results showed that another riders in the RG700 vlog gave uncomfortable feelings such as riding at high speed, using excessive accessories, joking on the road, asking for priority, and harming other road users. What appeared in the vlog will be better if it is filtered before being followed and do some things that do not violate existing regulations. Keywords:Hedonism, Representation, Semiotics, Youtube.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Susu Jahe Sido Muncul Sido Susu version is an advertisement that illustrates how the mass media still uses sensuality and exploitation of women as a means to attract the attention of the audience. This ad contains information about the "Undian Berhadiah Sido Susu", where Cupi Cupita as the brand ambassador conveys that information. Submission of information is accompanied by Cupi Cupita’s scene that moves the breast and hips This study used the analysis of Charles Peirce's semiotics by analyzing the objects contained in the sign shown by Cupi Cupita who represent women in this advertisement. Some supporting attributes such as the use of tight red clothing that contains sexual meanings, and seductive body language are added to further strengthen the impression of sensuality in this ad. Abstract

ABSTRACT As a tourist destination, Bali has an impact on the presence of entertainment needs for tourists, one of which is prostitution. It is clear in Bali that prostitution is now shifting to social media, furthermore sex workers are also ladyboy. One form of the social media that is commonly used is the Tinder. One of the important aspects in the use of social media is self- disclosure. Research in this area commonly uses descriptive qualitative research, with data collection techniques through interviews. The results showed that the informants in this study claimed to openly carry out their self-disclosure process. However, using an onion layer model, not all stages were passed by the informants. Informants in this study also experienced a process of de-penetration when their Tinder matches did not accept their identity as ladyboy. Physical appearance and communication strategies are key for informants to attract the attention of their Tinder matches. Keywords: Self-disclosure, ladyboy, social penetration, tinder.

Abstract

Women's representation in the political sphere has not maximized until recently. Women candidates have also adopted various political communication strategies to gain the trust and voices of the public. The purpose of this study is to determine the political communication strategies carried out by women legislative candidates in Tabanan Regency that have successfully passed the 2019 general election. This strategy is carried out by using the kinship approach, making women the main target of the campaign, utilizing social networks, using a direct communication approach or through social media, and taking psychological and sociological approaches. As a female candidate, various obstacles are faced in implementing this strategy, such as a lack of knowledge and experience regarding politics, the dual role of a woman, the public's view of a woman who is considered incapable of leading society, and competition with other candidates in one party. Abstract

The "Starbucks Greener Nusantara" is a program specifically launched by Starbucks Indonesia on the island of Bali in line with the global vision of becoming a company that is concerned with Bali Governor Regulation Number 97 of 2018 concerning the Limitation of Single-Use Plastic Waste. This program was launchedin accordance with the current era of the industrial revolution 4.0 related to green marketing. The purpose of this research is to find out and describe Starbucks Bali integrated marketing communication in the "Starbucks Greener Nusantara" program as an eco friendly company. The approach taken in this research is descriptive qualitative approach. The researcher determined the informant by using purposive sampling technique.The result of this research is the "Starbucks Greener Nusantara" program using the 4P classification (product, place, price, promotion) and IMC strategy there are five elements of a promotion mix strategy with the same message consistency in it. Abstract

President Joko Widodo is a political communicator who uses vlog content to communicate with the millennial generation. As a source or communicator in the digital era, having good credibility in building effective communication through the media is very important. The purpose of this study is to find out Joko Widodo's credibility in the #JKWVlog Vlog in the Millennial Generation of Denpasar City. This research uses the descriptive quantitative method and was analysied with the theory of Source Credibility by Hovland, Janis, and Kelley (1953). The results showed that Joko Widodo's credibility as seen in the #JKWVlog vlog was categorized good because the millennial generation had a good assessment of expertise and attractiveness, as well as high trust in Joko Widodo as a political communicator. Abstract

In the context of marketing, advertising is the spearhead in supporting the marketing success of a product and service. Through images or ideas that have been created, advertisement are expected to be able to persuade consumers to consume the product and service that have been advertised. In the case of binding to the public’s attractiveness, the female figure is often used as a symbol to display the visual form of the audience. The representation of female beauty that the marketing have made generaly establish a standard of certain beauty such as tall, have a white skin and straight hair. But now, advertising has also undergone a change as in the Pond’s Perfecting Cream Ft. Maudy Ayunda advertisement. Through qualitative research with Charles Sander Peirce’s semiotic analysis method, the results obtained that representations of female beauy can not be judged by one standard of beauty, but it is diverse.
