Abstract

The low proficiency in public speaking among students is not a trivial issue, as public speaking significantly influences the enhancement of students' self-confidence when speaking in public. This skill is not only relevant in the educational context but is also crucial in the professional world. The aim of this study is to analyze the role and strategies of public speaking in developing the self-confidence of engineering students at Kolej Vokasional Nibong Tebal, Pulai Pinang. The research method employed is qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis following the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that factors contributing to the low public speaking proficiency and self-confidence among engineering students at Kolej Vokasional Nibong Tebal, Pulai Pinang, include the lack of formal training in public speaking, limited opportunities for practice in real situations, insufficient foundational knowledge of public speaking techniques, high levels of anxiety and fear when speaking in public, lack of environmental support, challenges in using the medium of instruction, and previous negative experiences. Public speaking plays a crucial role in building self-confidence through the enhancement of self-efficacy, anxiety management, as well as social support and positive feedback. To improve public speaking and develop self-confidence among engineering students at Kolej Vokasional Nibong Tebal, a directed and effective strategy is required. This includes integrating public speaking into the curriculum, organizing workshops and intensive training, encouraging participation in practical activities, and providing mentoring and coaching programs.

Abstract

Task aversiveness has an impact on students’ tendency to engage in academic procrastination. This study aims to determine the relationship between task aversiveness and academic procrastination among Psychology students at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The instruments used in this study were the Task Aversiveness Scale and the Academic Procrastination Scale. The sample consisted of 221 Psychology students at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. Sampling was conducted using the probability sampling method with the stratified random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Spearman’s rho correlation test. The results showed a correlation coefficient (rho) of 0.492 with a significance value (p) = 0.000, indicating a significant positive relationship between task aversiveness and academic procrastination among Psychology students at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. This means that the higher the level of task aversiveness, the higher the academic procrastination, and conversely, the lower the task aversiveness, the lower the academic procrastination.

Abstract

Spiritual Intelligence is vital because it is the highest Intelligence in humans, which includes all the Intelligence that exists in humans. The Intelligence to judge one’s actions or way of life is more meaningful than others. This study aims to determine the relationship between spiritual Intelligence and student achievement motivation at MTsS Babun Najah Banda Aceh. The type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study were MTsS Babun Najah students, a total of 307 people. The Proportionate Stratified Random Sample was used, and obtained a sample of 75 students. The data analysis technique used is correlation analysis and data collection using a Likert Scale Model. The research result showed a relationship between spiritual Intelligence and achievement motivation, meaning that the hypothesis that the researcher proposes is accepted. The correlation analysis showed that spiritual Intelligence with achievement motivation has a positive relationship or correlation with a Pearson Correlation value of 0,640 and a signification value of 0.000, meaning the higher spiritual Intelligence possessed by a person, the higher achievement motivation. Conversely, the lower the spiritual intelligence, the lower the achievement motivation.

Abstract

Sehumlah Hak anak disebutkan dalam Deklarasi Majelis Umum PBB meliputi pendidikan, perawatan kesehatan, perlindungan, tempat tinggal dan gizi yang layak. Kesehatan mental merupakan aspek penting kesejahteraan anak karena dapat mempengaruhi banyak aspek kehidupan anak. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk menyoroti upaya dan strategi yang digunakan oleh single parent untuk melindungi hak anak mereka. Penelitian ini mengadopsi metode tinjauan sistematis menggunakan metode Prisma dalam memilih artikel. Ini adalah alat dan panduan bagi penulis untuk mengevaluasi tinjauan sistematis dan meta-analisis berkualitas tingg yang diambil dari database online Google Cendekia, Science Direct, dan PubMed menggunakan kata kunci “kesehatan mental” dan “anak-anak”. Pemilihan artikel yang diterima didasarkan pada publikasi yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2020–2024 (lima tahun terakhir). Hasil pencarian menunjukkan bahwa setidaknya 15 artikel ditemukan di tiga basis data yang disebutkan di atas yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Setelah meninjau artikel-artikel ini, kami menemukan bahwa orang tua telah melakukan banyak upaya untuk memberikan anak-anak mereka perlindungan dari semua ancaman, rasa aman, kenyamanan, kualitas pendidikan dan perawatan kesehatan terbaik, serta tempat tinggal yang bagus. Menyediakan makanan yang cukup untuk pemenuhan akan gizi anak bertahan hidup.

Abstract

Mahasiswa berada pada fase transisi penting dalam kehidupan yang rentan terhadap tekanan psikologis dan sosial. Konsep diri yang lemah terbukti berkorelasi dengan rendahnya kesejahteraan psikologis, yang mencakup dimensi seperti penerimaan diri, pertumbuhan pribadi, dan tujuan hidup. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara konsep diri dan kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa melalui pendekatan konseling humanistik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan sistematis dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan sintesis naratif, mengkaji literatur dari berbagai sumber akademik terpercaya. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan konseling humanistik, yang menekankan empati dan penerimaan tanpa syarat, efektif dalam memperkuat konsep diri dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa. Artikel ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pengembangan model konseling berbasis pemberdayaan diri di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi. Kesimpulannya, diperlukan integrasi pendekatan humanistik dalam layanan konseling kampus, serta penelitian lanjut berbasis data empiris di konteks lokal.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui masalah-masalah yang di hadapi oleh mahasiswa yang menyelesaikan studi akhir di Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi UIN Ar-Raniry dan mengetahui dukungan konseling teman sebaya pada mahasiswa yang sedang menyelesaikan studi akhir. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif  dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian diambil menggunakan purposive sumpling, yaitu 10 mahasiswa/I Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masalah-masalah yang dihadapi mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan studi akhir di Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi terdiri dari masalah akademik dan masalah sosial-pribadi, konseling teman sebaya penting dilakukan dalam upaya mahasiswa/i menyelesaikan studi akhir agar dapat memiliki keterbukaan antara sesama teman sebaya  dan memberikan kenyamanan dalam berkomunikasi dan lebih mudah menemukan support system selama mengerjakan studi akhir. Mahasiswa/i juga mengaku sangat membutuhkan layanan konseling teman sebaya pada saat mengahadapi masalah, Mahasiswa/I membutuhkan tenaga konselor untuk berbagi cerita juga mencari solusi dalam menghadapi masalah.

Abstract

Self-confidence is an essential component of an individual's psychological well-being, shaped by various factors, including gender. While differences in self-confidence exist, both men and women seek positive self-understanding to navigate life's challenges. Recognizing these differences is crucial for supporting the development of healthy and positive self-confidence. This study investigates the self-confidence levels of male and female students and compares their confidence in entering the workforce. Utilizing a quantitative descriptive approach, the study found that, on average, women exhibited higher levels of self-confidence than men. However, the comparison of self-confidence regarding entry into the workforce revealed no significant gender differences. These findings suggest that the educational environment fosters equal conditions, preparing students to face career challenges irrespective of gender. This research emphasizes the importance of an inclusive and equitable educational approach, where the development of relevant skills and competencies for the workforce is prioritized alongside the enhancement of self-confidence, a vital factor in achieving professional success. The implications of this study contribute to career counseling services in higher education, highlighting the need to focus on gender-neutral strategies that build students' self-confidence and equip them for future professional roles.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance students’ self-awareness and personal development through self-love and self-growth approaches at Witthayapanya Matthayom School, Thailand. The program encourages students to recognize the importance of self-acceptance by identifying their strengths and weaknesses and developing a positive self-concept as a foundation for personal and career development. Students are also guided to foster self-growth through goal setting, self-improvement motivation, and the ability to realistically accept the process of personal change. The program is implemented through the delivery of educational materials and the application of Cognitive Restructuring (CR) techniques within a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework. Program effectiveness is evaluated using a 10-item questionnaire measuring self-concept, self-love, and self-growth, administered on a 4-point Likert scale and developed through an Item Response Theory (IRT)–based adaptation of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Descriptive statistical analyses, including frequencies, percentages, and means, are used to summarize students’ responses and are complemented by qualitative observations from discussions and reflective activities. The results indicate high levels of student engagement, as evidenced by enthusiasm, active participation, and experience sharing throughout the sessions. These positive responses reflect increased awareness of self-love, contributing to enhanced self-confidence, motivation, and engagement in positive daily activities. Furthermore, the program strengthens students’ self-growth, as demonstrated by increased motivation for self-improvement, clearer future-oriented goals, and a stronger commitment to becoming the best version of themselves. Overall, this education- and CBT-based program is empirically relevant to students’ developmental needs, strengthens self-concept, and supports sustainable personal development for future readiness.

Abstract

Perkembangan psikologis anak sangat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas lingkungan keluarga sebagai sistem terdekat dalam kehidupan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara konseptual peran ketahanan keluarga (family resilience) dalam mendukung perkembangan psikologis anak. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan library research dengan menganalisis berbagai literatur ilmiah, buku akademik, dan artikel jurnal bereputasi yang relevan dengan konsep ketahanan keluarga dan perkembangan psikologis anak. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ketahanan keluarga yang ditandai oleh sistem keyakinan yang positif, pola organisasi yang fleksibel, dan komunikasi yang terbuka berkontribusi signifikan dalam membentuk regulasi emosi, self-esteem, serta kesejahteraan mental anak. Kajian ini juga menemukan bahwa sebagian besar penelitian sebelumnya masih berfokus pada resiliensi individu dan belum secara komprehensif mengintegrasikan pendekatan sistemik keluarga dalam konteks budaya Indonesia. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada integrasi dimensi ketahanan keluarga dengan indikator perkembangan psikologis anak berbasis nilai kolektivitas dan religiusitas sebagai sumber daya internal keluarga. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan program intervensi berbasis keluarga sebagai strategi preventif dalam mendukung kesehatan mental anak.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-determination and career decision-making ability among senior high school students. The research is grounded in a global and national context showing that many adolescents, including Indonesian high school graduates, continue to experience uncertainty in choosing a career path. The study was conducted with Grade XII students of SMA Negeri 3 Banda Aceh using a quantitative, correlational design. The population comprised 346 students, and a sample of 177 was selected through simple random sampling based on the Issac and Michael table with a 5% margin of error. Instruments included the Self-Determination Scale covering autonomy, competence, and relatedness—and the Career Decision-Making Scale, which measures the stages of exploration, crystallization, choice, and clarification. Content validity was examined using the Content Validity Ratio (CVR), while reliability was assessed with Cronbach’s alpha, yielding high coefficients (α self-determination = 0.871; α career decision-making = 0.867). The analysis revealed that most students demonstrated moderate levels of both self-determination and career decision-making ability. Pearson’s product–moment correlation produced a coefficient of r = 0.533 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a positive and highly significant relationship between self-determination and career decision-making. In other words, the higher the students’ autonomy, competence, and relatedness, the more mature their educational and occupational choices. This research underscores that fulfilling the basic psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness plays a crucial role in preparing students for the transition to higher education or the workforce. The findings recommend implementing school-based career guidance programs that foster intrinsic motivation, encouraging parental involvement to support adolescents’ exploratory freedom, and providing broader access to career information.
