Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of suitability of science materials with curriculum objectives in textbooks for junior high school in grade IX semester 2 and to determine the suitability of science materials in class IX textbooks for science junior high school with landslide material.This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The population of the data in this study is all grade IX textbooks of junior high school science lessons published in Indonesia in semester 2 and the data samples in this study are class IX textbooks of semester 2 published by Ministry of Education and Culture 2015, Yudhistira and Erlangga. The data in this study were taken using research instruments and data collection techniques through documentation studies. The suitability percentage of science materials with curriculum objectives in the 2nd semester in the textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture is 80% in the appropriate category, then the percentage of suitability of science materials with curriculum objectives in the textbooks published by Yudhistira is 76% with appropriate categories and the percentage of suitability of the Natural Science material with the purpose of the textbook curriculum published by Erlangga is 74% with a category that is appropriate. Then the suitability level of science material for grade IX in semester 2 with landslide material is 29% with an inappropriate category. Science material for grade IX semester 2 is not suitable for integration with Landslide material.

Abstract

ABSTRACTLow achievement of students competence are caused by lack of motivation for problem solving abilities of students. Problem-solving abilities on competence of knowledge is least students who are able to answer questions above the level of C3(aplication). Competence of skill is only some students who are able to problem solving with scientifi and have difficulties in solving the existing problems on teaching of  student worksheet, that affecting achievement of student competence. Student motivation in problem solving can be enhanced by learning that is contextual, authentic and close to student life that is by integrating real problem and emerging issue into student learning process. Environmental problems faced by human is the limitation of energy in fulfilling their needs, while the province of West Sumatra is one of the provinces that have the potential of geothermal energy source because it is on the path of the volcano that should be developed and educate students in energy savings. The LKS is designed to integrate geothermal energy materials using the Reasoning and Problem Solving learning model. The purpose of the study, to investigate whether there is influence and how much contribution integrated geothermal energy LKS to the achievement of student competence. The type of research is quasi experiment and randomized control group design design that the study population is X class MIA students registered in the even semester of academic year 2016/2017. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is the final test to measure knowledge competence, observation sheet, self-assessment, and peer assessment to measure attitude competence, skill competency appraisal sheet to measure skill competence, and LKS assessment sheet. The data analysis used two-point equality test, linear regression test, and correlation test.Based on the data analysis, the students' knowledge, attitude and skill in the experimental class were 89.96; 84.85; 87.21 and control classes respectively 84.96; 82.98; 82,71. From t test, obtained t count> ttable so that null hypothesis rejected and alternative hypothesis accepted. With correlation test, the contribution of geothermal energy integrated LKS is 36,40% in knowledge competence, 33,64% on attitude competence, and 54,78% on skill competence. Based on the result, it can be concluded that there is influence and contribution of integrated LKS geothermal energy material to the achievement of students' competence to real level 0,05 on temperature material, calorie and optics in class X SMAN 12 Sijunjung..

Abstract

Granite is an igneous rock in which the crystals have rough with the mineral composition of quartz, feldspar, plagioclase sodium and other minerals.  It has done research on the granite from Surian by giving he at treatment for investigating the crystal structure of granite. The samples of granite were crushed and sieved till from powder and calcined at temperature 500 ℃ to 1000 ℃ for 1 hour. The results calcination were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The results calcination showed that the granite occurred alteration of structure on phase, such as from anorthic system with unit cell a = 8,256 Å, b = 12 842 Å and c = 14.088 Å to monoclinic structure with a = 8.1372 Å, b = 12.78 Å and c = 14.009 Å

Abstract

This research is motivated importance of community preparedness to face the threat of hurricanes. This research aims to develop devices based learning high school physics teaching model of problem based learning with guided inquiry approach to the material dynamically integrated fluid cyclone with valid criteria, practical and effective. This type of research is a research-development using a model 4-D comprising the steps define, design, develop and dessiminate. In the define phase-end preliminary analysis, the analysis of the students, the task analysis, material analysis and the analysis of learning goals. At the design stage to do the preparation beracuan test criteria, the selection of media, format selection and initial design learning device. On Stage develop expert assessment (validation) and test development (practicalities and effectiveness) learning device. Data were analyzed using descriptive percentages. Results of the research is already successfully developed a learning tool in the form of high school physics syllabus, lesson plans, modules and assessments on integrated dynamic fluid material cyclone with very valid category with a percentage of 94.52%, very practical with a percentage of 88.91% and effectively with the percentage of 78 , 52%.

Abstract

Pahae Julu is a sub-district located in North Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra. This area is often found with volcanic material from the eruption of Mount Toba (Youngest Toba Tuff). The Youngest Toba Tuff eruption occurred ~74,000 years ago with a volume of 2,800 km3. When there is an eruption, the lava on the earth's surface undergoes a relatively fast freezing process to form volcanic igneous rock. These rocks contain various minerals, one of which is magnetic minerals that can be used as a track record of volcanic processes from Mount Toba. However, no document records the magnetic susceptibility value of the Youngest Toba Tuff volcanic rock in the Pahae Julu area. This research aimsbfor knowing the abundance of magnetic minerals by the low-field magnetic susceptibility. To achieve this goal, the rock magnetism method is used. This way is very effective, cheap, sensitive, and non-destructive. Magnetic susceptibility measurements are done using the Bartington Magnetic Susceptibility Meter MS2B sensor. Rock samples analyzed are pumice which is the result of the Youngest Toba Tuff eruption. The results showed that the magnetic susceptibility value obtained for the sample was between 85.0 x 10-8m3/kg – 183.1 x 10-8m3/kg with an average of 119.78 x 10-8m3/kg. Based on this value, it is assumed that the magnetic mineral properties are Antiferromagnetic. The average value of χ fd% obtained is 0.95%, indicating that the Youngest Toba Tuff volcanic rock in the Pahae Julu area has almost no Superparamagnetic grains.

Abstract

The energy generated by lightning is very large, but it cannot be controlled, causing significant losses and even casualties. To reduce the risk of lightning, a good level of understanding is needed from the public in dealing with lightning disasters. This level of understanding can be changed for the better through education in schools by integrating lightning material into teaching materials for Physics subjects. This study aims to determine the validity of Physics e-book integrated with lightning disaster material based on discovery learning. Research and development (R&D) with the plomp model was used as a method in this study. Products produced in R&D are tested for their validity by experts. The instrument used in this study was a validity questionnaire consisting of five aspects, namely content feasibility, presentation feasibility, language eligibility, graphic feasibility, and media feasibility. The results showed that the Physics e-book integrated with lightning disaster material based on discovery learning was in a valid category so that it could be used in physics learning at school as well as for further research.

Abstract

The problem in this research is that the attainment of competence attitudes of students is still not optimal, namely the tough attitude of students in facing earthquake disasters. This development research aims to determine the level of effectiveness of using the integrated Physics e-book material for earthquake disaster mitigation in physics learning to improve the competence of students' resilient attitude. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D). The development model used is the Plomp development model which consists of three stages, namely the preliminary research phase, the development or prototyping phase, and the assessment phase. This study only describes the results of the assessment phase, namely the competence of students' attitudes. The method used in this research is descriptive method with data collection instruments, namely self-assessment in the form of questionnaires filled out by students. This research was conducted at 14 Padang Senior High School for the 2019/2020 Academic Year on wave material. The results of this study indicate that the integrated physics e-book earthquake mitigation material is effectively used in the learning process with the average percentage of students' attitudes for three meetings, namely 81% in the very effective category.

Abstract

It is very important to develop an integrated physics e-book for earthquake disaster materials based on research based learning. This is because earthquakes are one of the most common disasters in Indonesia. Earthquake is one of the disasters that cannot be predicted when, where and the magnitude of the earthquake. One of the causes of the large number of victims due to the earthquake is the lack of knowledge and understanding of the community towards disasters so that there is a lack of preparedness in anticipating disasters early. One solution to overcome this problem is by providing earthquake material in schools using physics e-books. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of an integrated high school/MA physics e-book on earthquake material with a research-based learning model to improve students' preparedness. The research method used in this research is quasi-experimental. The research design used is a one group pretest-posttest design. In this design, one sample class is given a pretest and after being treated, a test is given as a description of the competence of students after being given a physics e-book. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it is concluded that the physics e-book is integrated with the earthquake material with a research based learning model that is effective in increasing the competence of students' attitudes, knowledge and skills.

Abstract

AbstrakSalah satu tujuan pembelajaran matematika yang harus dikuasai siswa adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Namun kenyataannya dilapangan siswa masih kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, khususnya pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis discovery learning yang valid, praktis dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model Plomp. Model ini dilakukan dalam 3 tahap. Pada tahap pertama adalah fase investigasi awal (preliminary research) dilakukan analisis kebutuhan, analisis kurikulum, analisis siswa dan analisis konsep. Pada tahap kedua adalah fase pengembangan atau pembuatan prototipe (development or prototyping phase) yang didesain sesuai dengan model discovery learning dilakukan evaluasi sendiri, validasi pakar/ahli, evaluasi satu-satu, evaluasi kelompok kecil. Pada tahap ketiga adalah fase penilaian (assessment phase) bertujuan untuk melihat keefektivan perangkat pembelajaran dengan melakukan uji lapangan kelompok besar di kelas VIII MTsN 1 Bukittinggi. Agar menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis discovery learning yang valid, praktis, dan efektif.Kata Kunci: Perangkat Pembelajaran, Discovery Learning, Model Plomp.AbstractOne of the goals of learning mathematics that must be mastered by students is the ability problem-solving. But the reality in the field of students is still difficult in solving math problems, especially on the matter of building a flat side room. This study aims to develop a learning device based on discovery learning mathematics that is valid, practical and effective in improving problem-solving skills. The development model used is the Plomp model. This model is done in 3 stages. In the first phase is the preliminary research phase of needs analysis, curriculum analysis, student analysis and concept analysis. In the second phase is the development or prototyping phase which is designed according to the discovery learning model by self-evaluation, expert / expert validation, one-to-one evaluation, small group evaluation. In the third stage is the assessment phase aims to see the effectiveness of learning tools by conducting large group field test in grade VIII MTsN 1 Bukittinggi. Abstract

Abstrak Akhir-akhir ini bencana longsor sering melanda Kota Padang. Agar masalah longsor ini bisa ditangani secara menyeluruh oleh pihak yang terkait maka perlu dilakukan penelitian secara komprehensif serta melihat gambaran sifat fisis dan struktur batuan bawah permukaan di daerah rawan longsor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi adanya bidang gelincir di area rawan longsor. Data yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan Konfigurasi Wenner dan Konfigurasi Schlumberger diolah dengan bantuan software RES2DINV. Berdasarkan nilai resistivitas yang diperoleh pada Lintasan 1, diidentifikasi terdapat 4 jenis batuan penyusun yaitu Clay, Sandstone, Limestone, dan Andesite. Hasil interpretasi menunjukkan di Lintasan 1 terdapat bidang gelincir. Metoda Geolistrik Inversi Time Lapse Resistivitas dikerjakan untuk dua set data, dimana pengukuran geolistrik dilakukan pada tahap awal dan tahap kedua. Besarnya perubahan resistivitas pada kedua set data tersebut hampir merata pada semua titik pengukuran yaitu sekitar 3.81 % untuk Konfigurasi Wenner dan 8.01 % untuk Konfigurasi Schlumberger, kecuali pada titik-titik tertentu menunjukkan perubahan persentase yang lebih besar. Kata kunci : Longsor, gelincir, Time-Lapse, Inversi. Abstract Recently landslide disasters often occurred in Padang. It is necessary to research and observe comprehensively the appearance of the physical properties and structure of the subsurface rocks in areas prone to landslides so that the parties concerned could overcome this landslide problem. This research aim to identify the presence of sliding plane in areas prone to landslides. Data obtained by using the Wenner and Schlumberger configuration processed with the help of RES2DINV software. Based on the resistivity values obtained on Track 1, there are 4 types of rock constituent : Clay, Sandstone, Limestone, and Andesite. Interpretation of the results showed that there is sliding plane in Track 1. Geoelectric Time-Lapse Resistivity Inversion Method done for two sets of data, where geoelectric measurements being done at an early stage and second stage. The magnitude of change in resistivity to both sets of data on average almost the same at all points of measurement which is about 3.81 % for Wenner and 8.01 % for Schlumberger Configuration, except at certain points which indicate a greater percentage.
