Abstract

Almost all communities around SDN 09 Simpang Tigo choose to do classroom learning for elementary school children. In fact, until April 7, 2021, Agam Regency was still in the orange zone (moderate risk) because there were still many new cases of COVID-19 in this area. From initial observations, many school residents have not implemented good and correct health protocols and increase the risk of spreading COVID-19. The purpose of this activity was to assess the readiness of schools to carry out limited classroom learning, increase school commitment in implementing health protocols, increase student knowledge about COVID-19, maintain a healthy environment, and train themselves to wash hands with soap and running water. The activity was carried out using the lecture method using media posters. Schools were provided with a handwashing system with a tread system. The activity results showed that schools had begun to implement health protocols but had not been maximized. After counseling, there was an increase in students' knowledge from 45.9% to 85.9%. Students had also been able to practice handwashing with soap properly. Students who were given counseling are expected to become motor drivers to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in schools and living areas.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Makanan yang dikonsumsi selain sehat, bersih dan bergizi juga harus aman. Penjamah makanan memiliki peran penting dalam memastikan keamanan makanan untuk mencegah terjadinya keracunan makanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik (KAP) tentang higiene dan sanitasi makanan pada penjamah makanan yang bekerja di kantin Universitas Andalas, Padang, Indonesia.Metode: Desain penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan cross sectional study. Pengumpulan data pada tahun 2020 melibatkan 52 penjamah makanan. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Data dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat dengan uji chi square CI 95%(α=0,05).Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukan 65,4% penjamah memiliki pengetahuan baik, 53,8% memiliki sikap baik dan 52% memiliki praktik baik tentang higiene dan sanitasi makanan. Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pendidikan (p= 0,003), pelatihan higiene dan sanitasi makanan (p=0,05), pengetahuan (p=0,005), dan sikap (p=0,006) dengan praktik higiene sanitasi makanan.Simpulan: Penjamah makanan lebih banyak yang memiliki pengetahuan, sikap dan praktik yang baik, namun beberapa aspek tindakan personal hygiene seperti penggunaan masker, sarung tangan dan celemek pada saat pengolahan dan penyajian makanan perlu ditingkatkan. ABSTRACT Background: The food consumed in addition to being healthy, clean and nutritious must also be safeFood handlers are crucial in guaranteeing food safety and preventing food illness. The purpose of this study was to compare food handlers' knowledge, attitude, and behaviors (KAP) on food hygiene and sanitation at Andalas University in Padang, Indonesia. Method: This study's design was quantitative, with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected in 2020 involving 52 food handlers was assessed using a questionnaire. . The data were examined in univariate and bivariate mode using the chi square test with a 95 percent confidence interval (=0,05).Result: 65,4 percent of food handlers have adequate knowledge, 53,8 percent have a positive attitude, and 52 percent adopt appropriate food hygiene and sanitation methods. There is a significant relationship between education level (p=0,003), food hygiene and sanitation training (p=0,05), knowledge (p=0.005), and attitude (p=0,006) and food hygiene and sanitation behaviors.Conclusion: Even though the results show that there are more food handlers who have good KAP levels, some aspects on personal hygiene measures like use of masks, gloves and aprons during food processing and serving need to be improved.

Abstract

Judul : Kandungan Kadmium pada Air Minum Isi Ulang di Kota PariamanLatar belakang: Cadmium bersifat sangat toksik dibandingkan logam berat lainnya, dapat menyebabkan keracunan akut maupun kronis. Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan telah menguji mutu produksi dari 95 depot air minum isi ulang di 5 kota. Sebanyak 9 produk mengandung Cadmium yang melebihi ambang batas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memberikan informasi mengenai kandungan logam berat Cadmium yang ada di dalam air minum isi ulang di Kota Pariaman.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif deskriptif untuk menggambarkan kandungan Cadmium yang terdapat dalam air minum isi ulang di Kota Pariaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder. Total DAMIU yang diperiksa selama 3 tahun terakhir sebanyak 91 DAMIU. DAMIU diklasifikasikan menjadi memenuhi atau tidak memenuhi syarat kandungan Cadmium dari hasil uji laboratium. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat.Hasil: Tingginya kadar Cadmium dalam air minum isi ulang diduga karena kualitas air baku dan catridge filter yang tidak di maintanance. 50% DAMIU menggunakan sumur gali sebagai air baku dimana cadmium lebih mudah mengendap pada sediman dasar sungai/ke dalam air tanah sehingga dalam menimbulkan tingginya kandungan Cadmium dalam air tanah. DAMIU yang tidak memenuhi baku mutu paling banyak ditemukan di wilayah Pariaman Selatan sebanyak 87% pada tahun 2020-2021Simpulan: Tingginya kadar Cadmium dalam air minum isi ulang diduga karena kualitas air baku yang tidak memenuhi standar dan tidak dilakukan maitanance peralatan yang digunakan oleh DAMIU khususnya Catridge filter sesuai dengan jangka waktu seharunya. ABSTRACT Background: Cadmium is highly toxic compared to other heavy metals, it can cause both acute and chronic poisoning. The Food and Drug Administration has tested the production quality of 95 refillable drinking water depots in 5 cities. A total of 9 products contain Cadmium that exceeds the threshold. The purpose of this study is to provide information about the heavy metal content of Cadmium in refillable drinking water in Pariaman City.Method: This study used a descriptive quantitative design to describe the cadmium content contained in refillable drinking water in Pariaman City. This study used secondary data. The total refillable drinking water examined over the past 3 years is 91 refillable drinking water. Refillable drinking water is classified as meeting or not meeting the cadmium content requirements from the laboratory test results. Data analysis is carried out univariat.Result: High levels of Cadmium in refillable drinking water are thought to be due to the quality of raw water and filter cartridges that are not maintanance. 50% of refillable drinking water uses dug wells as raw water where cadmium is easier to settle in the sediman riverbeds / into groundwater so as to cause a high content of Cadmium in groundwater. refillable drinking water that does not meet the most quality standards is found in the South Pariaman region as much as 87% in 2020-2021Conclusion: High levels of Cadmium in refillable drinking water are suspected to be due to raw water quality that does not meet the standards and is not maitanance the equipment used by refillable drinking water, especially catridge filters, is in accordance with the supposed time period.

Abstract

ABSTRAKUnsafe action merupakan penyebab langsung kecelakaan kerja. Tempat kerja yang baru beroperasi memiliki risiko dan bahaya yang lebih tinggi terhadap kecelakaan kerja. Terjadinya unsafe action pada tempat kerja yang baru dapat memperbesar resiko terjadinya kecelakaan kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor yang berhubungan dengan unsafe action pada pekerja produksi di PT Wijaya Karya Pabrik Fabrikasi Baja Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain ­cross sectional terhadap 72 pekerja, sampel diambil menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Variabel penelitian terdiri dari variabel independen (pengetahuan, sikap, beban kerja, stres kerja, kelelahan kerja, dan pengawasan) dan variabel dependen yaitu unsafe action. Pengolahan data menggunakan analisis univariat, bivariat (chi-square) dan multivariat (regresi logistik ganda). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 51,4% pekerja melakukan tindakan tidak aman, 37,5% memiliki pengetahuan rendah, 51,4% memiliki sikap negatif, 55,6% memiliki beban kerja berat, 58,3% memiliki tingkat stres kerja sedang, 52,8% mengalami kelelahan kerja dan 50,0% menyatakan pengawasan yang dilakukan kurang. Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan ada hubungan antara pengetahuan (p=0,006), sikap (p=0,000), stres kerja (p=0,000) dan pengawasan (p=0,000) dengan unsafe action, tidak ada hubungan antara beban kerja (p=0,162) dan kelelahan kerja (p=0,160) dengan unsafe action. Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan variabel yang paling dominan berhubungan dengan unsafe action adalah pengawasan (p=0,003). Terdapat hubungan antara pengetahuan, sikap, stres kerja dan pengawasan dengan unsafe action. Pengawasan merupakan variabel yang paling dominan berhubungan dengan unsafe action. Diharapkan kepada perusahaan melakukan pengawasan secara ketat dan rutin dengan menerapkan sistem punishment dengan tingkatan yang lebih berat. Kata kunci: fabrikasi baja, unsafe action, pengawasan

Abstract

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, learning method is conducted through online learning and the number of students who use digital device is increasing. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors of DES in Informatic Engineering student of Polytechnic C. This research used cross-sectional design, was conducted in February-June 2022 on 90 respondents of Informatic Engineering of Polytechnic C students 2018-2021. The data was analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate methods. The result showed the highest score of DES was 102, lowest score was 5, and average score was 36.26. 54,6% of the respondents were male, 95,6% used digital device for >4 hour, 52,2% did not use glasses when using digital devices, 94,4% not doing eye rest, 76,7% used digital devices in non-ergonomic position, 70,0% used digital devices with risky viewing angle, and 83,3% used digital devices with risky vision distance. There were differences of DES between the duration of digital device usage >4 and ?4 hour (p=0.033), ergonomic and non-ergonomic position (p=0.022) and risky and non-risky angle of digital device usage (p=0.033). There were no differences of DES between gender (p=0.251), using and not using glasses (p=0.932), doing and not doing eye rest (p=0.543), and risky and non-risky vision distance (p=0.426). The position of digital device usage has the most influence on DES (B=-15.521). It is recommended for students when using digital devices to practice ergonomics position.

Abstract

Introduction Since the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, many activities have been carried out online from home. This change in activity causes the frequency of gadget use to increase. Looking constantly at gadgets such as laptops, desktops, and mobile phones can risk visual problems or visual fatigue. Aims: this research is to describe visual fatigue and the factors that affect students due to the increasing use of gadgets. Methods This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach—collected data from April to June 2021. The sample in this study was 200 people. The variables are visual fatigue, viewing distance, eye breaks, and refractive error. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to respondents using google Forms. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate with 95% CI (α = 0.05). Result The analysis showed that 87% of students experienced visual fatigue, 76% used gadgets at an unsafe distance, 92% did not rest their eyes, 39.5% had refractive errors. Statistical test results between visual fatigue with viewing distance (p-value = 0.53), eye breaks (p-value = 0.04) and refractive error (p-value = 0.44). There is a relationship between eye breaks and visual fatigue. Based on the results of this study, take eye breaks by applying 20-20-20, namely resting the eyes every 20 minutes by turning the eyes to see objects as far as 20 feet for 20 seconds when using gadgets to reduce the risk of visual fatigue.

Abstract

Along with the times, the human need for food served outside the home is increasing. So that individuals or companies provide more and more food products or businesses. Food safety is a significant thing to note. The behaviour of food handlers in processing and serving food has an essential role in protecting the food from contamination that can affect the health of the people who consume processed food products. This community service activity aims to provide education regarding hygiene and sanitation to food business actors. The training was conducted in October - November 2022 at 40 food businesses in Mata Air Village, South Padang District, Padang City. The implementation method started with field observations, which aim to determine the condition of the hygiene implementation of business actors, followed by providing education to business actors using poster media that contains the application of hygiene and sanitation in handling food and providing personal protective equipment for business actors that can be used to support the implementation of food handling hygiene in the place of business. The results of community service activities found that 97.5% of business premises did not meet hygiene and sanitation requirements. This inspection was seen from personal hygiene and sanitation in the place of business. Education on the application of personal hygiene and sanitation to business actors was carried out door to door to every restaurant business place by using posters containing information regarding the application of food handling hygiene and pasted on every food business place in the village to increase the knowledge of food handlers. Educational media and personal protective equipment are expected to increase restaurant business workers' knowledge and compliance in implementing personal hygiene in processing and serving food.

Abstract

Based on data from the Health Office of Pariaman City in 2020, 1049 cases of diarrhoea were found. One of the causes is influenced by poor sanitation conditions and water quality, so it needs to be a concern for all levels of society, especially the younger generation. They have an essential role as a driving force for good sanitation for society, which is helpful for survival in the future. In order to reduce the number of cases of diarrhoea and other water-borne diseases, education was carried out using two methods for SMAN 1 Pariaman students, namely the lecture and quartet cards. Pre and post-tests were carried out to compare the effectiveness of the two methods. The pre and post-test scores had an average increase of 2.2 points; for the lecture method, the average increased by 0.4 points. The results obtained from both methods show an increase in the knowledge. However, compared with the difference in the increase of average value pre and post-test, the quartet card games were more effective in increasing student knowledge. This media quartet can continue to be used in health promotion.

Abstract

Bertambahnya jumlah penduduk serta berkembangnya aktivitas sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat mengakibatkan peningkatan volume sampah yang dihasilkan. Jenis dan karakteristik sampah juga semakin beragam. Dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh sampah diantaranya adalah bau tidak sedap, lalat berterbangan, dan pencemaran lingkungan. Sampah dapat menimbulkan permasalahan apabila tidak seimbangnya antara produksi sampah dengan pengelolaannya. Untuk mengatasi timbunan sampah dapat dilakukan dengan mengolah sampah organik menjadi kompos atau pupuk organik. Kompos adalah pupuk organik yang sangat bermanfaat bagi peningkatan produksi pertanian baik kualitas dan kuantitas, mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan dan meningkatkan kualitas lahan secara berkelanjutan. Kelompok Wanita Tani sama dengan kelompok tani yang membedakan anggotanya perempuan, yang melaksanakan usaha dibidang pertanian seperti pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan untuk menanam sayur, buah, pembibitan, dan juga tanaman obat serta ada juga yang ikut keladang untuk bercocok tanam. Maka diperlukan edukasi bagi kelompok wanita tani untuk dapat mengelola sampah rumah tangganya agar meminimalisir timbulan sampah dan kegiatan pembakaran di lingkungan tempat tinggalnya untuk mengurangi efek lingkungan dan kesehatan dari akibat pembakaran sampah dan menumpuknya sampah di lingkungan tempat tinggal, dan memanfaatkan kompos tersebut dalam aktivitas bercocok tanam. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan penyuluhan dan praktik pembuatan kompos bersama kelompok wanita tani Sinar Pagi, Kecamatan Lubuk Alung, Sumatera Barat. Diharapkan dari kegiatan ini kelompok wanita tani dapat mengolah limbah rumah tangga menjadi kompos secara mandiri dan beralih menggunakan pupuk organik daripada penggunaan pupuk anorganik.

Abstract

In processing gambier farmers work with various postures, namely standing, sitting, and some in a bent position. This study aims to determine the work posture to assess the ergonomic risk level in gambier processing farmers. This study is an observational study using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. The survey was conducted in March – July 2022 on gambier processing farmers in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra. Work postures were assessed starting from picking gambier leaves, preparing for boiling, boiling, pressing, settling, draining, and printing gambier. There are 11 work postures that were assessed. Data were collected using observations, documentation, and REBA worksheets. Then the data were analyzed based on the score from the REBA table, and the risk score was calculated. The results of the ergonomic risk assessment at each stage of the gambier processing process are it is known that in the process of picking gambier leaves the final score is 10, in the boiling preparation stage there are 4 different work positions with 2 final scores of 6, and 2 final scores 8, then the boiling stage the score final 9, tying gambier leaves for press preparation with a final score of 9, gambier leaf counting with a score of 9, gambier leaf press process with a final score of 9, gambier sap draining process with a final score of 10 and printing process with a final score of 8. Out of 11 postures at the gambier processing stage, nine poses have high risk with a score of 8 to 10, and two positions are of moderate risk. Efforts need to be made to improve equipment for processing gambier to prevent work-related injuries and reduce the physical workload on gambier processing farmers.
