Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the inquiry learning model on the knowledge competence of grade VIII students about the material of motion systems in living things at SMP Negeri 1 Basa Ampek Balai Tapan. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Basa Ampek Balai Tapan Academic Year 2020/2021. This type of research is quasi-research (Quasy Experient Research). The research design used was The Non Equevalent Control Group. The sample in this study was 15 people for each control and experimental class. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Class VIII.1 as the experimental class used the inquiry model and class VIII.3 class as the control class used the conventional learning model (lecture). The instrument used was this research using a written test. Data analysis used t test at a significance level of 0.05, with the prerequisite test for normality and homogeneity. Hypothesis testing using the t test, the results of statistical calculations obtained the price of t count of 2.840> t table of 1.753 with a significance level of 0.008 ˂ 0.05. Thus Ho was rejected and Ha accepted. This shows that there is a significant effect of the inquiry model on students' knowledge competencies.

Abstract

The world of education emphasizes a learning approach so that students are able to develop their potential, collaborate with the environment, link learning with everyday life and school facilitates students to be involved in their social environment. A suitable scientific approach is learning based on local wisdom or ethnoscience. based on field observations, the students' lack of interest in science learning was due to the learning material in textbooks still monotonous. To overcome this problem, researchers developed a science module based on ethnoscience or local wisdom of West Sumatra, which is easy for junior high school students to understand so that it can increase interest in learning. The purpose of this research is to produce a science module based on the ethnoscience of vibrations, waves and sounds. then tested its validity so that it is suitable for use in class VIII science learning. The type of research used is research and development (R&D). the development model used is ADDIE. The research instrument used was a validity questionnaire. The research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. This module was validated by 3 validators. The results of the validity test of each validator found that the natural science teaching materials were valid for research. Based on the research that has been done, ethnoscience-based science modules can be used with a very valid category

Abstract

This article aims to describe a model of treatment that utilizes plants (plant medicine) found in the Padang Pariaman tradition, especially Sintoga and its surroundings. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method and is descriptive in nature with an interactive analysis model. The author concludes that in the medicinal tradition using plants that are assisted by smart people in the Sintoga community. This tradition has probably been going on from generation to generation. This can be proven by still using this method of treatment. Some traditions may have originated outside the Padang Pariaman culture which entered into the tradition along with the association of the community with other communities. There is no definite basis (logic) regarding the treatment. Some of the reasons for doing treatment with plants and helping smart people, namely because of traditions / habits and the presence of mystical elements. Another logic is the logic of transition, which is to consider things that are on the help of the smart person. This logic is quite common.

Abstract

The background of this research is because of the problems encountered, namely the lack of interest and motivation to learn students, learning models are less varied and have not used teaching materials in the form of LKPD. This study aims to determine the validity and practicality of LKPD-based learning model Problem Based Learning for SMP class VII on environmental pollution material. This research is a type of research and development (R & D) with the ADDIE development model consisting of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Due to time and cost limitations, this research was only carried out until the development stage. The research instrument consisted of an interview sheet, a validity questionnaire and a practicality questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed using the moment kappa formula. The results showed that the LKPD based on the Problem Based Learning learning model was categorized as valid with an average score of 0.813. While the results of the practicality test are categorized as practical with an average score of 0.819 teacher responses and 0.845 student responses. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the LKDP based on the Problem Based Learning model for SMP class VII on environmental pollution material is categorized as valid and practical.
