Abstract

Not a few people hold leadership positions, but only a handful of people take part as leaders in missionary movements, even though the church has a missionary call that must be fulfilled. It was at this point that Petrus Octavianus appeared in his life and works to show himself as one of the few people whose figure reflects a missionary movement. With his missionary movement, Petrus Octavianus moved across borders to proclaim Christ. The research method used is a qualitative method with a narrative study approach. The results of this research show that a missionary leader can produce works that tend to be unexpected. This is reflected in the experience of Petrus Octavianus as a religious and national figure with a multitude of achievements that have received much appreciation as a manifestation of his theological life journey which was made possible by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Abstract

Even though Covid-19 appears to be receding and under control, its impact is not over. One of them is related to the spirituality of the church which has surfaced as an expression of Christian faith amid the threat of Covid-19. This article wants to examine the spirituality of the church with the aim of understanding its contents, whether it continues to develop or changes following the ups and downs of Covid-19. This study uses library research methods, both printed and digital libraries which are the source of reference. The results of the study show that the spirituality of the church still has its ups and downs according to the flow of challenges it faces. This condition occurs as it did in previous times. Therefore, the church needs to re-evaluate the weakness and fragility of its spiritual condition to reorient it towards its faith commitment which is based on God's faithfulness towards post-pandemic conditions.

Abstract

Laziness is a lifestyle that no one wants, because it disrupts ethical discourse in the work culture. The aim of this research is to investigate the issue of laziness in relation to the Christian work ethic by referring to the biblical text, namely Proverbs 18:9 which shows a bad precedent for God's decrees for His human creation. The research method used is hermeneutics or biblical interpretation in order to find the meaning of the text for the current context. Related to this, the author uses primary books for exegetical studies, as well as other supporting sources from books and journal articles. The results of this research are that laziness has the potential to be destructive and is contrary to the Christian work ethic which was originally established by God to be passed down from generation to generation in the history of human life. Laziness never brings benefits in any form because its nature is to damage figures that give the image of a lazy character.

Abstract

Digital culture seems to be well received in society because the benefits are unavoidable. This should be acknowledged, but this welcome should also be anticipated with a critical attitude because in contrast to its usefulness, digital technology also contributes to the emergence of negative influences and impacts on its users. This is also a concern for STT ATI students because digital culture has also permeated their life context. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to examine the experiences of STT ATI students amid digital flow to see these problems. This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological study. The results of this study are that: first, STT ATI students quite understand digital culture based on their experience; second, digital culture has an impact on them, both positively and negatively; third, ethically they have a fairly good response in dealing with digital challenges, but on the other hand there are also weaknesses in perceptions about the subject. In this regard, more intense training is needed so that they are ready to face the digital era with all its consequences.

Abstract

Gembala sidang adalah figur yang khusus karena ia berpartisipasi dalam karya penggembalaan yang dimulai oleh Allah. Hal tersebut sekaligus menekankan bahwa posisi serta tugas gembala sangat istimewa. Melalui gembala, jemaat dapat hidup sebagaimana mestinya sebagai jemaat Allah. Figur gembala merupakan cerminan hidup yang diharapkan di tengah jemaat, namun realitas mempertontonkan kehadiran gembala tidak turut menghadirkan kompetensi spiritual yang seharusnya menjadi paket lengkap dari kehadirannya. Beberapa gembala kehilangan fungsi teologisnya karena penyalahgunaan keuangan, terjerumus dalam tindakan asusila dengan jemaat, hedonis dan sumber konflik, menjadi faktor penyebab. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengemukakan pentingnya figur gembala sebagai teladan yang dapat mendidik karakter jemaat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kepustakaan dengan menggunakan sumber-sumber berupa buku dan artikel jurnal. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa sebagai figur bagi jemaat, gembala harus menghamba dalam hidup dan pelayanan, berintegritas, serta menjadi penjaga kawanan domba.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to look at the responsibility of youth in the church today, because the church is facing a crisis in the role of youth as figures who are expected to make new breakthroughs in the church facing the challenges of progress in today. This situation was also experienced by GKII Gloria Ganjang Kanan, Tanah Pinoh with the decline in the active role of youth in ecclesiastical services due to the influence of the present era with the spread of a strong digital culture that attracts the tastes of young people. To respond to this, coaching was carried out for the youth of GKII Gloria Ganjang Kanan, Tanah Pinoh to provide an understanding of the current situation and its challenges, as well as increase their awareness and responsibility to the church. This activity uses the lecture method through prepared materials and interactions to deepen the understanding of the youth. The result of this activity is that the formation of youth seems effective in fostering their awareness and responsibility towards the church. This can be seen through the youth's understanding of the material presented and as a follow-up they also actively participate in service in the church and are responsible for the duties of the ministry given.Keywords: church; responsibility; Christian youth; today; CoachingAbstrakKegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan menilik tanggung jawab pemuda di gereja zaman now, sebab gereja tengah menghadapi krisis akan peran pemuda sebagai figur yang diharapkan dapat membuat terobosan baru dalam gereja menghadapi tantangan kemajuan di zaman now. Situasi tersebut pun turut dialami oleh GKII Gloria Ganjang Kanan, Tanah Pinoh dengan menurunnya peran aktif pemuda dalam pelayanan gerejawi oleh karena pengaruh zaman now dengan merebaknya budaya digital yang kuat menggaet selera para pemuda. Untuk menyikapinya, maka dilakukan pembinaan kepada para pemuda GKII Gloria Ganjang Kanan, Tanah Pinoh guna memberikan pemahaman tentang situasi zaman now dan tantangannya, serta meningkatkan kesadaran dan tanggung jawab mereka terhadap gereja. Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode ceramah melalui materi yang disiapkan dan interaksi guna memperdalam pemahaman para pemuda. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah, bahwa pembinaan terhadap pemuda tampak efektif untuk memupuk kesadaran dan tanggung jawab mereka terhadap gereja. Hal tersebut tampak melalui pemahaman pemuda tentang materi yang disampaikan dan sebagai tindaklanjutnya mereka pun turut aktif dalam pelayanan di gereja dan bertanggung jawab atas tugas-tugas pelayanan yang diberikan.Kata Kunci: gereja; tanggung jawab; pemuda Kristen; zaman now; pembinaan

Abstract

Spiritual development is a fundamental aspect of the church aimed at fostering a strong spiritual life to face contemporary challenges that threaten the character of God's people. This is particularly significant for the adult catechetical groups of churches in West Kalimantan, as reflected in the ministry reports from Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Abdi Tuhan Injili (STT ATI) Pontianak. The objective of the community service program (PkM) through the Borneo Bermazmur initiative of STT ATI is to enhance the spirituality of adult church members around West Kalimantan through the praxis and meaningful interpretation of worship songs. Worship can inspire God's people to reflect on God's goodness, transform their lives, and positively impact the broader community. The methods employed in this activity include monologue sermons, lectures, and interactive discussions. The results indicate that the PkM activities through Borneo Bermazmur had a positive impact by addressing the participants' spiritual needs. Furthermore, participants showed great enthusiasm for the PkM program and warmly embraced its implementation. This is evident from the survey results, which reflect highly positive responses, with participants feeling blessed by the event.Keywords: spirituality; worship; spiritual developmentAbstrakPembinaan rohani merupakan hal yang mendasar bagi gereja guna meningkatkan spiritualitas hidup yang kuat untuk menghadapi tantangan zaman yang mengancam karakter umat Allah. Hal ini penting bagi kelompok ketegorial dewasa gereja-gereja di Kalimantan Barat, sebab berdasarkan hasil laporan pelayanan Sekolah Tinggi Theologia Abdi Tuhan Injili (STT ATI) Pontianak. Tujuan kegiatan PkM melalui Borneo Bermazmur STT ATI yaitu meningkatkan spiritualitas kelompok dewasa gereja-gereja di sekitar Kalimantan Barat melalui praksis dan pemaknaan puji-pujian, sebab pujian dapat mendorong umat Allah untuk menghayati kebaikan Allah, mengubah hidup, serta berdampak bagi masyarakat luas. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah khotbah yang bersifat monolog, serta ceramah dan diskusi yang bersifat dialog. Hasil dari kegiatan tersebut adalah bahwa, kegiatan PkM melalui Borneo Bermazmur (BBMz) berdampak baik melalui materi-materi yang menjawab kebutuhan spiritual peserta. Selain itu, para peserta menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi terhadap kegiatan PkM, serta menyambut dengan baik pelaksanaan kegiatan tersebut. Hal tersebut tampak melalui hasil survei terhadap kegiatan PkM yang menunjukkan tanggapan yang sangat baik dan para peserta merasa diberkati dengan kegiatan tersebut.Kata Kunci: spiritualitas; pujian; pembinaan rohani

Abstract

The diversity of life and its complexity is a rich social fact and should be celebrated through encounters between fellow humans, but it is often harmed by forms of discrimination and self-limitation that narrow these relationships. This then restricts the existence of human life in narrow spaces like ghettos which isolate people from their social, cultural and religious contexts. This type of life is of course not permitted by the church, but often the church also participates in it. This is a historical burden that continues as previously seen in the text of Luke 10:25-37. The method used in this research is a library research method using library sources that are relevant to this research, as well as an interpretive or hermeneutic method to interpret the meaning of the biblical text for the current context. The results of this research are: first, the text of Luke 10:25-37 questions the meaning of fellow human beings, which the Israelites failed to practice compared to the Samaritans. In this text Jesus chooses to side with the actions of the Samaritans and criticizes the actions of the Israelites. Second, the text of Luke 10:25-37 reveals that the meaning of neighbor is universal and the church is required to side with Jesus' call to participate in building universal relationships with fellow humans beyond social, cultural and religious barriers. Third, the Church must free the meaning of others from the constraints of the ghetto that alienates their existence from the world.

Abstract

Teologi Feminis merupakan teologi yang dibangun berdasakan perspektif kaum Perempuan yang berdampak pada cara tefsir terhadap Alkitab. Prinsip hermeneutik atau penafsiran yang digunakan bertolak pada pengalaman konteks, sehingga otoritas teks Alkitab tidak dimutlakkan melainkan terbuka bagi kritik. Dari upaya tersebut, Allah pun kemudian ditafsir dari perspektif gender. Masalah inilah yang menjadi tujuan penelitian, sebab berdampak juga pada kekeliruan berteologi khususnya dari kalangan kaum Injili. Masalah yang disoroti di sini adalah terkait persoalan hermeneutis yang turut memengaruhi cara berteologi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa hermeneutik kaum feminis telah menyebabkan kekeliruan berteologi melalui metode pendekatan terhadap Alkitab yang tidak kredibel. Teologi feminis juga memakai Alkitab sebagai sumber yang mendukung asumsi teologi mereka, namun tidak dengan tujuan mempertahankan otoritasnya. Sebaliknya teks Alkitab dibiarkan terbuka bagi kemungkinan baru melalui kritik demi melayani kepentingan konteks. Feminisme menempatkan Alkitab dibawah perspektif pengalaman manusia, sehingga mendistorsi kewibawaannya. Hal tersebut bertolak belakang dengan kaum injili yang memegang teguh kemutlakan Alkitab sebagai firman Allah.

Abstract

Prioritas ibadah melalui media online tampak mengalami pergeseran oleh karena kebebasan mengakses dan memilih ibadah yang disukai sesuai selera peribadi, serta penggunaan ruang dan waktu ibadah yang tidak proporsional. Hal tersebut tidak etis sebab dengan demikian ibadah tidak dialami secara substansial. Bertolak dari itu, maka fokus penelitian ini adalah pada tinjauan etis terkait prioritas ibadah melalui media online yang tampak mengandung problem tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah content analysis dengan mengacu pada sumber-sumber pustaka, baik artikel online maupun buku cetak sesuai dengan topik penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah, bahwa problem pergeseran prioritas ibadah melalui media online, dapat diatasi melalui kesadaran etis terkait prioritas beribadah yang meliputi prioritas kehadiran, prioritas ruang, dan prioritas waktu sebagai hal penting dalam perjumpaan dengan Tuhan. Ketiga prioritas tersebut mengandung kualitas etis yang tidak sepenuhnya dapat divirtualisasi.
