Abstract

This study examines the impact of transformational leadership values on employee performance, specifically focusing on Relationship Managers (RMs) and RM KPPs within the Yogyakarta Regional Office. Amid the post-COVID economic recovery, banking lending performance in the consumer sector, particularly in property financing, has shown promising growth. This is evidenced by increasing demand for commercial and FLPP property loans, supported by government policies such as tax incentives and FLPP housing procurement initiatives. Despite this potential, challenges remain, including suboptimal achievements in key performance indicators such as outstanding mortgage realization (93.01%) and unmet targets for Special Attention and Non-Performing Loan (NPL) reductions as of October 2024. The study explores how transformational leadership values—such as inspiration, motivation, potential development, and empowerment—impact RMs’ productivity and efficiency in achieving consumer credit targets. Employing a mixed-method approach, the research combines surveys and interviews with RMs in the Yogyakarta Regional Office, using instruments to assess perceptions of leadership styles and their influence on performance. Findings are expected to provide actionable insights for developing leadership training programs aimed at optimizing team performance. Additionally, the study offers strategic recommendations for the banking sector to enhance leadership effectiveness, driving consumer credit growth and improving overall productivity in the Yogyakarta Regional Office.

Abstract

Empowering the regional economy through the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) plays a vital role in fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth at the local level. This research investigates the success and challenges faced by MSMEs in Thamrin City, focusing on strategies to enhance their development and contribute to local economic empowerment. Employing a descriptive approach, the study analyzes employment trends within MSMEs from 2019 to 2023, complemented by interviews with MSME owners and key stakeholders. The findings reveal that while MSMEs in Thamrin City face significant challenges such as limited access to funding, restricted market reach, and resistance to innovation, these hurdles can be addressed through strategic initiatives. Strong human resource (HR) capabilities, coupled with effective marketing strategies, are identified as critical factors in enabling small businesses to overcome these barriers and achieve sustainable growth. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of the pivotal role that MSMEs play in supporting regional economic development. It highlights the necessity of targeted empowerment policies and initiatives to facilitate the expansion of small businesses, which, in turn, enhances community well-being. By focusing on capacity-building and market development, stakeholders can create an environment that fosters the resilience and competitiveness of MSMEs. This research underscores the need for collaborative efforts between governments, financial institutions, and local communities to unlock the full potential of MSMEs as drivers of economic progress and social inclusion.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital banking on the financial decision-making processes of millennials, addressing key challenges and opportunities. Through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews, we explore how accessibility, financial literacy, and behavioural patterns are shaped by digital banking tools. Our findings reveal that digital banking significantly enhances financial engagement among millennials, leading to more informed decisions and improved financial literacy through integrated educational resources. However, it also highlights a tendency toward impulsive spending and a lack of understanding of complex financial products. These dual influences underscore the need for financial institutions to develop user-friendly platforms that promote responsible financial behaviours. This research contributes to the understanding of how digital banking can be leveraged to support effective financial decision-making in a tech-savvy generation.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology and shifts in consumer behavior have driven the banking industry, including Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), to adapt by enhancing the capabilities of its human resources (HR). In this context, it is crucial to develop an effective education and training framework for BRI employees, particularly RM Briguna, to remain competitive in the digital era. This study focuses on assessing the education and training requirements of RM Briguna employees in the digital age and creating a tailored model that meets the specific needs of workers, especially those in western Indonesia. Using a qualitative methodology, the research incorporates a literature review analyzing various training models utilized in the banking sector and examines best practices in HR development. The findings highlight that effective training approaches include competency-based programs, on-the-job training, e-learning, blended learning, and gamification. Each model presents distinct benefits and limitations, which must be carefully evaluated during the design process. An analysis of existing training initiatives reveals a need for updates in curricula and methods to align with industry demands and emerging technological trends. The ideal education and training framework should prioritize flexibility, innovation, and alignment with employees' unique needs. Strategic investment in HR development and collaboration with educational institutions will play a vital role in equipping BRI to tackle digital-era challenges. By implementing an optimized training model, BRI can cultivate a skilled and adaptable workforce—particularly RM Briguna in western Indonesia—capable of driving the company’s growth and success.
