Abstract

West Lombok Regency. Using the Vector Geoprocessing method, the study processes and analyzes spatial GIS data, focusing on graphical data (geometry) and attributes (identity) through ArcMap Desktop. The main analysis techniques used include overlay analysis and buffer analysis, which are very important for spatial data analysis in GIS. This study uses mangrove distribution data from 1996-2021 which is analyzed to obtain the distribution of mangroves in the desired area. In Lembar District, there are four villages that have mangrove ecosystems, namely Eyat Mayang, Labuan Tereng, Lembar & South Lembar villages. In each village from year to year there is a change in area. The mangrove ecosystem in Lembar District from year to year has experienced an overall reduction starting from 1996-2021, experiencing a decrease of approximately 69%, namely from an area of 186 Ha to 59 Ha. However, there is one village that experienced an increase in mangrove ecosystems in 2016-2021, namely an increase of approximately 3 Ha. This cannot be separated from internal and external factors that occur so that they have an impact on changes in the mangrove ecosystem in an area. The factor that most influences changes in the area of mangroves is the existence of development in the area so that it has an impact on the mangrove ecosystem.

Abstract

Abstract

Western scholars’ objections to the authenticity of hadiths began from the 19th century until the 20th century. They argued with various skeptical narratives that the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad never existed. In the dynamics of hadith studies, the ideas of Western scholars have become a new paradigm that has sparked serious responses from Muslim scholars including Mustafa Azami. This article aims to analyze Azami’s role in fighting Western Scholars’ Hadith skepticism, as well as Azami’s influence in Indonesia as a pioneer of this study. This article uses a qualitative method involving literature review, and then analyzes it using Thomas Khuns’ paradigm shift theory. This article concludes that Azami has proven the Hadith Skepticism thesis put forward by Western scholars, which is not sustainable because there is inequality in the realm of hadith science. Likewise, Western scholars’ ideas about the authenticity of hadith have also not been developed. Meanwhile, Azami's academic work has had a huge impact on hadith studies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research investigates the diplomatic correspondence between the Acehnese Sultanate and the Ottoman Empire during the 16th century, shedding light on the transregional alliances that shaped geopolitical dynamics in Southeast Asia. The study employs a structured historical methodology, encompassing heuristics (data collection), verification (authentication of sources and authors), interpretation (critical analysis), and historiography (historical synthesis). The findings reveal a series of preserved letters in the Ottoman archives, documenting official communications during the reign of Sultan Alauddin al-Kahar of Aceh, notably, correspondence with Ottoman rulers Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and Sultan Selim II highlights Aceh’s strategic efforts to secure Ottoman support against Portuguese expansion in the Indian Ocean. Sultan Alauddin al-Kahar’s letters detail three primary requests: formally recognizing Aceh as an Ottoman vassal state, military assistance including cannon makers, naval vessels, and fortification materials, and the dispatch of military advisors and trainers. The records further confirm that the Ottoman Empire responded positively, demonstrating a willingness to assist Aceh, reflecting shared interests in countering Portuguese influence. This study contributes to a nuanced understanding of early modern diplomacy and the interconnected nature of political and military networks across the Indian Ocean, emphasizing the Ottoman Empire’s pivotal role in supporting regional powers like Aceh. Abstract

This study investigated the effects of different coaching leadership strategies on the motivation and performance of volleyball players in the Pusri team. By employing a mixed-methods approach, the research analyses transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles. Results show that transformational leadership significantly enhances intrinsic motivation and performance, fostering team cohesion and individual development. Transactional leadership, while effective short-term, presents challenges in sustaining long-term motivation due to its reliance on external rewards. Laissez-faire leadership benefits self-motivated players but can negatively impact those needing more guidance. The study concludes that adaptive leadership, tailored to individual and team needs, is crucial for optimizing performance. Recommendations include prioritizing transformational techniques, balanced use of transactional methods, and selective application of laissez-faire strategies. These findings contribute to both theoretical understanding and practical applications in sports leadership.

Abstract

The study focused on increasing student motivation and academic achievement in physical education, sports, and health (PJOK) subjects at PGRI Kundi Junior High School by implementing Merdeka curriculum-based strategies. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and questionnaires involving 10 eighth-grade students, 2 teachers of physical education, sports, and health subjects, and the school principal. The data analysis revealed that both teachers and students experienced improved learning motivation and academic outcomes. The collaborative approach between teachers and students fostered a more relevant and dynamic learning environment, further enhancing the quality of education. The effectiveness of this strategy highlights the potential for more contextual and relevant learning methods that align with the demands of the Merdeka curriculum. By engaging students in a more flexible, student-centered curriculum, their enthusiasm and commitment to learning are significantly heightened. The positive changes in teaching methods and assessments have not only improved students’ physical skills but also supported their overall academic performance. This approach has proven particularly beneficial in fostering a deeper connection between students and their learning processes. Teachers play a crucial role in maintaining this momentum by continually adapting their strategies to the evolving needs of their students. The success of the Merdeka curriculum in this context suggests that similar approaches could be effective in other subjects as well. Ultimately, this model presents a promising avenue for enhancing educational outcomes in diverse learning environments.
