Abstract

The number of deaths due to Covid-19 cases in Indonesia continues to increase. All nurses involved in the care of Covid-19 patients have sacrificed their personal and family interests. Nurses have sacrificed safety and the threat of contracting a virus that can end in death. This high burden and worry will certainly increase the nurse's stress level from mild to severe. This condition can also occur even after 1 year of the pandemic has passed, so it can be concluded that it can be acute or chronic. This type of research is descriptive analytic with a population of 130 nurses, a sample of 40 respondents. The results of this study indicate that 75.5% of nurses experience moderate stress, for this reason it is necessary to tighten the standard additional empirical preventive measures for patient cases under surveillance and confirmation of COVID-19 and overall infection control prevention in carrying out nursing interventions by nursing management in hospitals

Abstract

Bullying is one of the most common psychosocial problems among adolescents, particularly within the school environment. A lack of knowledge and awareness among students regarding the forms and impacts of bullying can increase the risk of deviant behavior and mental health problems, ultimately affecting academic performance. This community service activity aimed to enhance students’ knowledge about bullying through health education using visual media (PowerPoint). The activity was conducted face-to-face on January 15, 2023, with 27 students from class VIII J of SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi participating. The implementation stages included preparation, pre-test, delivery of educational material, interactive discussion, post-test, and evaluation. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge: before the intervention, 62.9% of students had poor knowledge, while after the intervention, 88.8% demonstrated good knowledge. These findings indicate that health education using visual media is effective in improving students’ understanding of bullying. It is expected that this program will contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and violence-free school environment.

Abstract

Cases of bullying that often occur in the world of education in Indonesia are increasingly concerning. The results of a study by the National Consortium for the Development of Character Schools in 2014 stated that almost every school in Indonesia had cases of bullying, even though it was only verbal and psychological/mental bullying. Cases of seniors bullying juniors keep popping up. The impact of bullying can threaten every party involved, both children who are bullied, children who are bullied, children who witness bullying, even schools with bullying issues as a whole. Bullying can have a bad influence on the physical and mental health of children. In severe cases, bullying can trigger fatal actions, such as suicide and so on. One of the places where bullying occurs is at school which is known as School bullying. School bullying is aggressive behavior that is carried out repeatedly by a person or group of students who have power, against other students who are weaker, with the aim of hurting that person, both physically and non-physically which can result in fear and trauma from the victim. An initial survey conducted at the Nurul Khoir Junior High School, Jambi City, through observation, found that some students played in groups/gangs and tended to mock each other among fellow students, especially the male group. Based on the results of interviews with the principal of SMP Nurul Khoir, teachers have never received guidelines for preventing bullying behavior at school and students have never been given education about bullying at school. The results of the activities carried out for 1 day showed an increase in students' knowledge about bullying behavior by 48%.
