Abstract

The Ministry of Social Affairs applies PKH assistance to recipient communities to prevent misuse of assistance for consumptive purposes. The aim of this program is to improve the standard of living and quality of human resources in the form of changes in mindset, behavior and prosperous graduation. This research aims to examine the relationship between the effectiveness of FDS assistance and media use on the level of KPM participation with Cybernetic Theory and the Knowledge-Attitude-Behavior Model which are based on quantitative analysis. Also used is probability sampling with cluster random sampling techniques via Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Simple Linear Regression. The total sample of 85 KPM will still be active until 2024, in Ngraji Village, Grobogan. The first hypothesis in this research is that there is a relationship between the effectiveness of FDS assistance (X1) and the level of KPM participation (Y), the results show that there is no linear relationship between the two variables. The essence of assistance does not work according to the initial goal, the mentor is too dominant as an information resource so it is necessary to reconsider the approach to a good relationship with respondents. The second research hypothesis examines that there is a relationship between the effectiveness of media use (X2) and the level of KPM participation (Y), the results show that there is a linear relationship. However, the effectiveness only reached 11.4%, due to the physical limitations of the module and flipchart. Therefore, it is necessary to consider increasing the physical media duplication budget. The third hypothesis is that there is a relationship between the effectiveness of FDS assistance (X1) and media use (X2) and the level of KPM participation (Y). Based on these results, no conclusion can be drawn from the third hypothesis, because the results of the two hypotheses are inversely proportional and if the first hypothesis is continued the effectiveness value is less than 1%. Thus, continuous assistance with the media is not fully implemented and still requires the respondent's determination to be actively involved in making PKH a success

Abstract

Reports regarding cases of sexual violence were still very high throughout 2022 with the majority of victims being women. Law enforcers always settled on the ‘peaceful’ way of resolving cases by not taking sides with victims or being unjust. Film was a discourse that represents social realities. Based on the social issues, Photocopier was produced to depict the silencing that still occurred against victims of sexual violence. The research aimed to examine the discourse on silencing women as victims of sexual violence which was portrayed in Photocopier. Muted Group Theory by Cheris Kramarae was used as the main theory, followed by the concept of radical-libertarian feminism. Sara Mills’ Critical Discourse Analysis was used as the research method to analyze deeper on four aspects of examination: character, fragmentation, focalization, and schemata. The results indicated that the female characters in Photocopier represent women as victims of sexual violence. Despite having important roles, the female characters were still portrayed to be silenced by the male characters. Fragmentation concentrated on the facial expressions of the characters which depicted anger and frustration of the victims. Focalization in the film indicated that the female victims were active subjects. The subjectivity of sexual violence victims rendered through feminine-oriented when sharing their experiences. Hence, schemata identified the victim blaming ideology in which the female victims of sexual violence still struggle to reveal the truth and demand lawfulness.

Abstract

Abstract

The use of AR Beauty Filter is included in a new phenomenon that has emerged in postmodern society culture. Women as dominant social media users are also the largest users of AR Beauty Filter. With the advancement of technology, humans as creators of AR Beauty Filter have the freedom to create any filter they want. Therefore, the use of AR Beauty Filter can give women the freedom to show what kind of face I will be an expression of their beauty on social media. This study is a qualitative study with the interpretative phenomenological analysis or IPA method, which aims to understand women's experiences in using AR Beauty Filter on Instagram social media and how the meaning of the definition of beauty that arises from this experience, and whether women interpret beauty as a form of empowerment in self expression or as a way to meet conventional beauty standards. This study was conducted through in-depth interviews with six Indonesian female informants who actively use the Instagram application and the AR Beauty Filter feature. The results of this study indicate that women's experiences in using AR Beauty Filters have a significant role in underpinning the meaning of beauty that they consider ideal, and have become an essential need in sharing photo and video content on social media. The culture of life in the digital world that has become part of everyday human life, as well as the high intensity of AR Beauty Filter use, creates two self-images that are seen alternately continuously. These self-images are self-images in the real world (actual self) and self-images with AR Beauty Filters in the digital world (augmented/ideal self). The existence of these two self-images indirectly blurs the view of the real and the unreal (virtual/unreal) in women, especially regarding the reality of beauty. This is related to the concept of hyperreality put forward by Jean Baudrillard. It was found that the types and forms of AR Beauty Filters chosen and widely used by women still encode conventional beauty characteristics, which are not enough to empower women's beauty expressions on social media, and limit these expressions to only one particular standard.

Deviant behavior among adolescents in the form of gambling practices has become a compelling area of research, driven by the influence of technological advancements, particularly the internet, which serves as a medium for gambling practices and leads to the phenomenon of online gambling. Negative phenomena such as online gambling, especially slot gambling, are increasingly prevalent among teenagers. This study aims to understand the decision-making experiences of adolescents in engaging in online slot gambling. Using a qualitative approach and Moustakas' analysis method, the research seeks to explore how adolescents experience making decisions to participate in online slot gambling and give meaning to the phenomenon. This study was conducted with four informants, consisting of two males and two females, who are teenagers and active online slot gamblers. The findings indicate that all four informants have decision-making experiences influenced by their psychological conditions, which are enticed by the rewards of slot gambling, as well as by their social environment. This aligns with the aspects of communication that encourage individuals to make decisions, specifically the social and psychological aspects of communication.

Abstract

Gender inequality and patriarchal domination remain significant issues in Indonesia, including in the Minangkabau society, which follows a matrilineal kinship system. Despite the important role of women in Minangkabau's social structure, patriarchy still prevails, creating disparities between men and women. The Musikal Nurbaya (2021) series highlights this issue through its female protagonist who faces patriarchal pressure. This study aims to analyze the forms of resistance exhibited by the main female character against patriarchal domination in the series. Using hermeneutic analysis, the study explores 13 scenes and 3 songs in the series to understand how gender injustice is critiqued and confronted by the main character. The results show that the character Nur demonstrates both open and covert resistance to patriarchal domination, reflected in her rejection of traditional gender norms and her fight for individual freedom. The series also reveals that despite Minangkabau's matrilineal system, patriarchal domination continues to affect women's lives. In conclusion, Nur's resistance reflects a broader struggle to achieve gender equality amid patriarchal norms.

Abstract

Football communities are predominantly male and hegemonically masculine, often subjecting female fans to stereotypes and unpleasant treatment. Despite this, many women actively engage in football fandom and community activities. This research explores how women negotiate their identity while participating in these male-dominated spaces. Four informants from two football clubs were interviewed using dialogic narrative analysis based on Labov's narrative stages model. Identity negotiation, performance, and management theories were applied to understand their experiences The findings reveal that male dominance and masculine hegemony persist, making identity negotiation inevitable. However, growing gender equality discussions have led to greater acceptance of female fans. Today, female fans are more likely to be valued and integrated with male fans. The identity negotiation process varies, influenced by individual experiences. Some women choose to ignore or normalize the negative behaviors of male fans, while others perform certain behaviors to balance group expectations with their personal identity. These performances include maintaining a positive image with parents, actively engaging in fan activities, and mimicking typically masculine behaviors, like showing toughness. Family support or rejection also plays a crucial role in shaping women's continued involvement in football fandom.

Abstract

Indonesian late adolescents are actively involved in social media, experiencing both positive and negative effects. On the positive side, they gain knowledge, access useful information, find inspiration, and engage in meaningful interactions. Conversely, they also face negatives such as heightened anxiety, social comparison, exposure to misinformation, and mental health challenges. This study explores how social media engagement and peer group communication contribute to Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) in late adolescents.FOMO has emerged as a significant concern with the rise of social media and digital technology, intensifying the fear of being excluded from social experiences and trends. The research focuses on the influence and correlation between social media use intensity and peer group communication regarding FOMO in late adolescents aged 18-21. Employing a quantitative approach with 100 respondents and a simple linear regression test, the findings consistently indicate that as social media usage increases, weaken the likelihood of experiencing FOMO. Notably, heightened communication among peers corresponds with a decreased likelihood of FOMO.To enhance future research, it is recommended to incorporate additional variables such as comparison tendencies, self-esteem levels, personality traits, and peer pressure, contributing further to the understanding of FOMO. Qualitative research methods, like interviews or focus groups, could offer deeper insights into individuals' subjective experiences related to FOMO, complementing quantitative findings with context. Additionally, broadening the age range and demographic characteristics of participants would provide a more comprehensive understanding of how FOMO manifests across diverse life stages within the context of social media usage.

Abstract

Child's moral education is very important in the era of technological battles, different from the character education whose nature is more diverse depending on the nature of the environment. The impact of globalization has become very diverse especially on the pattern of communication between generations namely millennial generation and alpha generation. The most felt impact is that these two generations often choose a way of communicating indirectly i.e. by using gadgets that then make the relationship between both as a child and parents impressed far away. The presence of gadgets as a means of communication also makes these two generations have different communication experiences with other generations, This research aims to know the communication of parents in educating children's character in a global era that focuses on millennial generation parents in shelter cities. The research results show that there are two characters that can be implemented through communication between parents and children. These two characters are a religious character and an honest character. Intense and open communication is carried out by parents to implement religious character and honest character. The communication carried out is realized in communicating directly and indirectly using gadgets. The task of parents in implementing character education is to try to build good communication with their children so that the advice given can be accepted and implemented by their children. The process of giving advice is carried out through direct communication or indirect communication using a cellphone to make it easier to communicate anytime, anywhere. The process of providing advice through communication is also carried out using a special method for one of the informants. The method used is a way of communicating that tends to be full of laughter, not tense and adapted to the family's conditions at that time so that the message or advice conveyed through the communication process can be digested optimally and without coercion. The communication process in an effort to instill character education is also carried out by providing continuous advice when communicating with children. Parents also provide direct examples to their children to support the advice they have been given regarding practicing worship, and telling the truth which can be used as a habit for children to continue to have a positive attitude.
