Abstract

Teacher professionalism is a key factor determining the quality of learning in Early Childhood Education (ECE) institutions. Professional teachers are expected to possess pedagogical, professional, personal, and social competencies that foster an effective, creative, and child-development-centered learning process. This study aims to analyze ECE teacher professionalism in enhancing learning quality, identify factors that support or hinder such professionalism, and describe efforts made to improve the quality of instruction. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. Data collection involved observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis encompassed data red uction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that teacher professionalism positively influences learning quality, as evidenced by teachers' abilities to plan, implement, and evaluate instruction in alignment with children's developmental characteristics. Supporting factors include continuous training, institutional leadership support, and the availability of learning resources; conversely, inhibiting factors include limited facilities, restricted opportunities for competency development, and administrative burdens. Therefore, enhancing teacher professionalism through continuous training, mentoring, and competency development is a crucial step toward improving learning quality in ECE institutions.

Abstract

The main focus of early childhood stimulation is direct interaction with parents, real play and exploration of the surrounding environment, but based on initial observations many parents have given gadgets since an early age, and use digital media without parental supervision. The background of this activity is driven by the increasing use of digital devices by early childhood which has the potential to cause negative impacts such as: addiction, exposure to content that is not appropriate for the age and development of children, to the risk of physical and sexual violence in children in the real world and digitally. The implementation method includes: 1) socialization 2) interactive training, 3) mentoring for teachers and parents to develop parenting and learning patterns oriented towards healthy digital literacy and character education. The expected results of community service activities are an increase in participants' knowledge on how to guide children in using technology wisely, instill moral values and build positive communication between home and school.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers play a crucial role in shaping children's character through creative and meaningful learning processes. However, utilizing digital technology as an interactive learning medium remains a challenge for some PAUD teachers, particularly in rural areas. This community service initiative aims to enhance the competence of PAUD teachers in Cikarang Village regarding the design of interactive computational media that supports character building in early childhood. The implementation method encompasses needs assessment, content delivery, training on media design applications, hands-on media creation, mentoring, and evaluation of training outcomes. PAUD teachers participated actively in every stage of the training. The results demonstrate an improvement in participants' understanding of interactive computational media concepts and their ability to produce engaging, user-friendly learning media that integrate character values such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, honesty, and caring. This training contributes to enhancing teachers' digital competence while fostering the implementation of learning practices that are more innovative, effective, and child-centered. Consequently, this initiative serves as a strategic effort to support character building through technology-based early childhood education.
