Abstract

Nursing Quality of Work Life (QNWL) and nursing job performance are important variables for nurses in functioning within nursing organizations. However, empirical evidence examining the relationship between these variables remains scarce in North Sumatra Province, particularly in Medan. This study aimed to assess the relationship between QNWL and nursing job performance at Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis Hospital, Indonesia. This correlational study design involved a total sample of 62 nurses working in inpatient units. The instruments used were the QNWL and nursing work performance questionnaire. The frequency distribution, percentage, and Pearson correlation test were used for data analysis. The findings showed that QNWL and nursing job performance were predominantly in the moderate category. There was a significant and positive relationship between QNWL and nursing job performance (p < 0.001 and r = 0.670), indicating that higher QNWL is associated with better nursing performance. Therefore, maintaining and improving QNWL is essential to enhance nursing job performance, enabling nurses in hospital settings to deliver high-quality care and achieve optimal and safe patient outcomes.  Keyword: Nursing Work Life, Job Performance, Work Environment, Hospital

Abstract

The Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) procedure is a form of surgical intervention carried out to treat coronary heart disease (CHD). Cardiac rehabilitation programs are training and education programs that aim to improve patients' heart health, especially after surgery. One of the goals of cardiac rehabilitation is to return patients to achieve optimal conditions, increase the functional capacity of the heart, and improve the quality of life. The purpose of the study was to test the effectiveness of the phase II cardiac rehabilitation program on increasing cardiac functional capacity and quality of life of post-CABG patients at H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan. The research design is a quasi-experimental one group pre-test and post-test design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The number of samples was 33 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using dependent t tests for heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure, and diastole blood pressure. Data on respiratory rate (RR), METs, oxygen saturation (SpO2), and quality of life variables were used to test the wilcoxon. The results of the data analysis showed that there was no effect of the phase II cardiac rehabilitation program on HR and RR (p>0.05 value) because the majority of respondents took beta-blocker drugs. However, the results of statistical tests showed that there was an effect of the phase II cardiac rehabilitation program on systole and diastole blood pressure, METs, SpO2, and the quality of life of the respondents (p value <0.05). This study proves that the phase II cardiac rehabilitation program is effective in improving the functional capacity of the heart and the quality of life of post-CABG patients.

Efforts to increase HPV vaccination behavior in schools through Empowerment Education, can be an alternative intervention that can be done. Objective of the study: To analyze the effectiveness of Enpowerment Education on knowledge of HPV vaccination among adolescent girls. Research method: The research design was Quasi Experimental Design using Pre Post Design With A Comparison Group conducted from December 2023 to June 2024. Quantitative instruments using the knowledge questionnaire to do HPV vaccination have gone through validity and reliability tests with an Alpha Cronbach value 0.6 Quantitative data analysis with the Wilcoxon Signed Test (paired) and the Mann Whitney Test (unpaired). Results: There is a difference in knowledge (P=0.000) to vaccinate Pre test and Post test in the Intervention group. There is a difference in knowledge (p=0.000) to do HPV vaccination (p=0.675) in the Post Test Group of Control and Intervention Groups Conclusion: Enpowerment Education has an effect on increasing knowledge of HPV vaccination. Enpowerment education can be used to improve the knowledge female students that can be used in schools. Keywords: Enpowerment Education, Knowledge, HPV  ABSTRAK Latar belakang: Kanker serviks menjadi salah satu penyebab kematian terbanyak di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia.
