Abstract

Macrozoobentos is one of the basic organisms of waters associated with the seagrass ecosystem. This study aims to determine the correlation between the density of Macrozoobentos and seagrass cover in the seagrass ecosystem in the waters of Panjang Island. Sampling was done during lowest tide periode by a quadrat transect method consisting of 3 transects and spanned 50 from coral reefs to coastal areas. The results obtained 83 Type Macrozoobentos of 8 Classes with a total of 4,097 ind. The type of seagrass found on Pulau Panjang consists of Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichii, Halophila ovalis, Halodule uninervis, Syringodium isoetifolium and Enhalus acoroides, average seagrass density of 6 stations in Panjang Island waters ie Thalassia hemprichii 644 / m2 and The lowest is the seagrass type Enhalus acoroides 76 stands / m2.

Abstract

Tarakan has a fairly large potential for fisheries resources, both marine and coastal fisheries (in the form of brackish water / pond aquaculture and freshwater / pond aquaculture). Many Tarakan people work in aquaculture ponds that produce fishery products such as milkfish, crabs, and shrimp. When the harvest arrives, the catch is abundant and fast handling is needed to avoid spoilage. In addition, during the harvest season, the price of fish tends to decrease and is simply sold without considering the selling price. This is due to the lack of public knowledge in terms of fish processing. Whereas with processing into new products, the selling value will increase. Therefore, related training, especially various processed fishery products, is needed to increase public knowledge, especially housewives who are members of women's farmer groups. The method consists of socialization, training and mentoring. The stages of activities carried out in this activity include coordination with women farmer groups, collecting raw materials, outreach to the community, training on fishery products. This training is carried out by processing fish into various products such as pempek and tekwan. The results of the activity show that 90% of women farmers' groups are interested in making various kinds of fish products and women's groups have skills in processing fishery products. Suggestions in this activity are expected to be continued with product packaging and marketing training so that it can provide business opportunities for the Wanita Tani Group, in Mamburungan Tarakan.

Abstract

Tarakan City has the groundwater potency for clean water needs, However, for its use, it needs to treat it first in order to quality standards, through filtration technology by using the waste of Asiatic hard clam sheel (Meretrix sp.). the purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using Asiatic hard clam sheel as the groundwater filters in Tarakan City. The research method used in this study was an experimental method with a complete randomized design (RAL) with three treatments. The material used was Asiatic hard clam shell with a filter level of 30, 60 and 100 Cm with a combination of the use of activated charcoal, quartz sand and gravel to determine the best composition. The parameters tested were according to the regulation of the Minister of Health No.32 of 2017 (Water Qualitiy Standards for Sanitary Hygiene Needs) namely turbidity, color, odor, pH, temperature, TDS, TSS, nitrates, nitrites, Fe and manganese (Mn). The results showed that the efeectiveness of the filter for each parameter was different. For the effective manganese parameters at a filter level of 30 cm, which was 36 %, pH, TDS, and Effective color at the level of 60 cm with successive valus of 61, 42 and 17 %. The parameters of nitrite, nitrate, TSS and effective turbidity at the filter level of 100 cm were 95, 97, 84 and 76%. Thes use of Asiatic hard clam shell as a groundwater filter was effective in improving the quality of raw water physically and meeting the requirements according to the quality standards used.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKontaminan yang disebabkan oleh hidrokarbon aromatik pada lingkungan mangrove menjadi perhatian serius, karena dampak yang ditimbulkan dapat berakibat berkurangnya fungsi sistem ekologi mangrove secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan dampak hidrokarbon aromatik terhadap ekosistem mangrove. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2014 hingga bulan Februari 2015. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa senyawa hidrokarbon aromatik terdiri atas; stirena 2,4,6-trimetil, xilena, stirena, fenantrena dan naftalena 2-benzil. Dampak yang ditimbulkan berupa terjadinya kematian massal terhadap mangrove. Alternatif penanganan kandungan hidrokarbon aromatik pada mangrove adalah dengan metode fitoremediasi. ABSTRACTContaminants of aromatic hydrocarbon on mangrove zone has been a concern seriously, due to the impacts will reduce the overall ecological function of mangrove. The study aims to know kinds and impact of aromatic hydrocarbons of mangrove ecosystem. The study was conducted from August 2014 to February 2015.The results showed that aromatic hydrocarbon compounds consist of; styrene 2,4,6-trimethyl, xylene, styrene, phenantrena dan naftalena 2-benzyl. The impact is dieback of mangrove. Alternative handling aromatic hydrocarbons of mangroves is phytoremediation method.

Abstract

Olahan bayi cumi merupakan salah satu alternatif yang dapat dibuat menjadi bahan sambal yang mudah dibuat dapat menjadi nilai ekonomis tinggi. Sambal merupakan olahan yang terbuat dari cabai dan dicampur dengan bahan lain seperti bawang, gula, garam dan sebagainya. Sambal mempunyai cita rasa pedas yang khas dan nikmat. Sambal bisa dinikmati dengan berbagai makanan lain, seperti dimakan dengan nasi sehingga menjadi lauk, buah yang kecut dan lain sebagainya. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberi pengetahuan kepada masyarakat tentang inovasi olahan produk perikanan bayi cumi serta membuat kemasan produk yang menarik yang dapat meningkatkan minat beli konsumen. Metode dalam pendekatan yang dapat dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini antara lain: a) Memberikan penyuluhan dan penjelasan terkait olahan bayi cumi yaitu sambal bayi cumi, alat dan bahan yang digunakan, proses pembuatan sambal cumi dan cara penggunaan kemasan produk. b) Memberikan pelatihan dan bimbingan tentang proses pengolahan bayi cumi menjadi sambal dan pembuatan kemasan yang menarik sehingga bernilai ekonomis tinggi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan masyarakat pesisir Kelurahan Kampung Satu tentang pengolahan bayi cumi serta bertambahnya keterampilan masyarakat dalam membuat kemasan yang menarik sehingga mempunyai nilai ekonomis tinggi yang dapat meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat pesisir di Kelurahan Kampung Satu. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan pendapatan masyarakat pesisir Kelurahan Kampung Satu dengan pelatihan mengolah dan membuat kemasan olahan bayi cumi menjadi sambal pedas.

Abstract

Mitra dari program kemitraan masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah kelompok Ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang tinggal di Kelurahan Juata Kerikil, Kota Tarakan. Kota Tarakan merupakan kota perikanan, dimana ikan banyak dipasarkan di daerah ini. Pada musim tertentu, ikan berada dalam keadaan melimpah atau memiliki harga yang murah. Akan tetapi, masyarakat khususunya ibu-ibu yang tinggal di daerah ini, belum mengetahui bagaimana mengelolah ikan agar dapat dijadikan ikan olahan yang higienis dan dapat disimpan dalam waktu yang lebih lama, seperti Pempek dari Ikan Tenggiri. Disamping itu, Pempek Ikan Tenggiri dapat dipasarkan sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga yang mana jenis ikan olahan ini sangat disukai masyarakat, dari anak-anak sampai orang dewasa. Pemahaman tentang makanan bergizi yang tekandung dalam ikan dipaparkan dalam bentuk penyuluhan. Cara pembuatan ikan olahan (pempek ikan tenggiri) dilaksanakan dalam bentuk workshop/pelatihan, yang mendapat perhatian yang sangat serius dan antusias oleh kelompok mitra sehingga telah dipahami oleh mitra. Teknik pengemasan dan penyimpanan, baik untuk dipasarkan maupun untuk dikonsumsi sendiri telah diperkenalkan kepada kelompok mitra. Pembimbingan lanjutan dilakukan sehingga kelompok masyarakat tersebut mampu secara mandiri membuat ikan olahan dalam bentuk pempek.

Abstract

Mangrove forests are one of the natural ecosystems that make a large contribution to the population as a food source, one of which is gastropods. The purpose of this study was to determine the density of mangroves, the abundance of gastropods and the discussion between the density of mangroves and the abundance of gastropods. This research was carried out in September - November 2018 in the area of 12 ha KKMB. The research method used was a survey method by conducting direct research on 12 plot points with a plot size of 10 x 10 meters were in each plot there were 3 sub-plots made 1 x 1 meter randomly carried out in the plot to take gastropod samples. The collected data are grouped by type variable, mangrove density as a variable (X) and gastropod abundance as a variable (Y). The results showed that the mangrove yields in the area obtained by KKMB belonged to the very solid (good) category with a value of 11.700 ind / ha. The highest gastropod abundance is dominated by the type of Cassidula aurisfelis with the number of 79 individuals  and the lowest abundance of the type Littoraria scabra with the number of 14 individuals . The low level of gastropod abundance is reduced due to the low density of mangrove species and the low food source in the mangrove area. The relationship of mangrove density with gastropod abundance using simple linear regression analysis obtained the value of determination coefficient (R2) of 0.227, while the coefficient value was 0.4766 which means that it is positively correlated.

Abstract

Tarakan City has the potential of groundwater for the need for clean water. However, it must be treated first so that its quality meets the standard required among the efforts of filtration by utilizing the waste of Abalone shells (Anadara sp). The purpose of the research was to determine the effectiveness of using Abalone shells (Anadara sp) as a groundwater filter in Tarakan city. The research method used a complete randomized design (RAL) method. The material used Dara Shell (Anadara sp) filter levels of 30cm, 60cm, and 100 cm combined with active charcoal, quartz sand and gravel to determine the best composition. The parameters were tested based on Minister of Health Regulation No. 32 of 2017 (Standard Water Quality for Hygiene Sanitation Requirement): turbidity, colour, pH, temperature, TSS, TDS, nitrate, nitrite, Fe heavy metal and Mn. Research results showed that the filter’s effectively increased pH values by 54% and decreased the concentration of consecutive Mn heavy metals 83%. Level 60 cm filters effectively decrease nitrite, TDS, cloudy and colouration levels by 31%, 44%, 26% and 54%, respectively. While the 30 cm filter level effectively lowers the TSS level by 75%.

Abstract

Ekosistem mangrove berada di wilayah peralihan antara darat dan laut, ekosistem ini memiliki peran yang sangat penting baik secara ekologi maupun ekonomi sehingga mangrove dijuluki sebagai ekosistem yang multifungsi. Manfaat dari mangrove yang dapat dirasakan baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung adalah tambak dan biota asosiasi yang memiliki nilai ekonomi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove yang berkelanjutan. Metode pendekatan menggunakan analisis nilai manfaat langsung dan pengelolaan berkelanjutan serta model nilai ekonomi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa salah satu manfaat langsung dari mangrove di Kabupaten Tana Tidung adalah budidaya tambak dan kepiting bakau yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi, nilai produksi tambak menghasilkan sekitar 108.600 kilogram pertahunnya dengan nilai rupiah sekitar Rp 6.035.900.000 dari dua jenis komoditi yakni ikan bandeng (Chanos chanos) dan udang windu (Penaeus monodon) dari luasan tambak sekitar 49.310,20 ha. Hasil tangkapan sampingan pembudidaya tambak yakni kepiting bakau sebesar Rp 102.600.000 pertahun. Hasil tambak menunjukkan bahwa perikanan budidaya di Kabupaten Tana Tidung memiliki berpotensi ekonomi yang tinggi dapat meningkatkan perekonomian dibidang perikanan budidaya sehingga pengelolaan berkelanjutan dan model nilai ekonomi sebagai salah satu kebijakan alternatif dapat diterapkan di Kabupaten Tana Tidung. Model pengelolaan ini memperhatkan keberlanjutan ekosistem, dan dapat diimplementasikan oleh masyarakat sekitar sehingga dapat meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat. Pemanfaatan ekosistem mangrove yang dilakukan harus kegiatan usaha yang ramah lingkungan seperti tambak silvofishery sehingga terbentuknya keseimbangan antara ekologi dan ekonomi ekosistem mangrove di Kabupaten Tana Tidung.Mangrove ecosystems are found in the coastal and estuarine areas. Because of their significant ecological and economic role, mangroves are known as multifunctional ecosystems. Ponds and the associated biota are two examples of the direct and indirect benefits of mangrove ecosystems. The aims of this reaserch is design management sustainable of mangrove ecosystem. Utilizing direct benefit-value analysis is the approach method. The findings demonstrated that one of the direct advantages of mangroves in Tana Tidung Regency is the cultivation of highly valuable mangrove crabs and ponds. The value of pond production in Tana Tidung Regency generates approximately 108.600 kilograms annually, valued at Rp 6.035.900.000, from two types of commodities: tiger shrimp (Panaeus monodon) and milkfish (Chanos chanos). from an approximate 49,310.20 hectacre pond. Mangrove crab bycatch amounts to Rp 102.600,000 annually. This demonstrates the significant economic potential of aquaculture in Tana Tidung Regency, indicating the necessity for management to maintain the sustainability of the ecosystem while also improving the aquaculture industry's economic standing. Tana Tidung Regency should consider implementing the sustainable management and economic value model, as it takes the sustainability of the ecosystem into account. Following the establishment of these groups, it is imperative to modify eco-friendly economic sectors, including silvofishery ponds, to maintain equilibrium between the mangrove ecosystem's ecology and economy in Tana Tidung Regency.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems are found in the area where land meets the sea. Potential of mangrove ecosystem are abundant because of their significant ecological and economic role, mangroves are known as multifunctional ecosystems. Ponds and the associated biota are two examples of the direct and indirect benefits of mangrove ecosystems. The research aim is to calculate the potential benefits of mangrove ecosystems in Tanah Tidung Regency. The method used for calculation of the value of resource benefits using the total economic value approach. The results showed that the Potential Use Value of mangrove ecosystems in Tana Tidung Regency reached Rp 305.529.644.089 per/year. So, it can be ascertained that mangroves have great potential in improving the welfare of people who can utilize them.Keywords: Economic Value; Mangrove; Tana Tidung
