Abstract

The management of natural resources (medicinal plants) is a material taught in the UIN Walisongo biology education department. Based on preliminary observations students experience saturation of learning in the classroom. Therefore, it is necessary to attempt to overcome this by using JAS approaching learning module. This study aims to: (1) identify the types of medicinal plants grown in Taman Jamu Nyonya Meneer (TJNM) and TOGA Park Patemon Tengaran Village; (2) developing JAS medicinal plant modules; (3) test the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the module. Characteristics of the module consists of concept maps, indicators, materials, tasks, quizzes, experiments and essay tests. This research is a research and development (R & D) which is designed consists of stages: (1) analysis of potentials and problems; (2) data collection; (3) product design of learning module; (4) module characteristics; (5) validation of product design; (6) revision of phase I module; (7) small scale module test; (8) revision of module stage 2; (9) final module revision. A limited-scale trial was conducted at UIN Walisongo. Data collection was done by observation method, interview, questionnaire, documentation and test. Trials were conducted to test the practicality and effectiveness of the module on students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes. The result of identification of medicinal plants in TJNM and TOGA Park Patemon Village was found by the number of medicinal plants in TJNM that is 49 species and in Patemon Tengaran Village that is 23 species. Validation results are valid by media experts and valid by material experts. The cognitive learning result of 84.67% of students reach completeness. Students and lecturers responded very well to the developed learning modules.

Abstract

The school environment has potential as a learning resource for developing contextual teaching materials. The purpose of this study is to test the validity and effectiveness of the module learning Discovery Learning model based on identification of plant in SMAN 1 Bangsri, Jepara, Central Java. This research is a development research consist of plants identification and module development. The plants identification refer to internet and book. Module development refers to Sugiyono's model and its validity assessed by 4 validators. The effectiveness of module tested by pretest-posttest control group design. The sample class taken by cluster random sampling technique, 1 experiment class and 1 control class. There are 147 species plant in SMAN 1 Bangsri, they are member of divisio Bryophyta, Pteridophyta, and Spermatophyta. The content of module is a valid, presentation and graphics, and language are a very valid. The result of cognitive test significantly different between control and experiment class. The affective value which very good predicate in the experiment class higher than the control class, while the psychomotor value only a slight difference. The results of validity test and effectiveness of module Discovery Learning model based on the results of plants identification are feasible as teaching materials.

Abstract

Observation result according to five senior high schools in Semarang was found out that Plantae material was taught with the conceptual method by using limited learning media, such as handout book and students’ worksheet. Plantae material should be taught contextually by using a real object, so the students could find the concept. Contextual learning can be done by using a potential environment. One of the areas with abundant biological diversity especially ferns, located in Bukit Gentong, Kendal Regency. This diversity can be used to be learning media such as herbarium. Herbarium becomes one of the alternative learning media because it is easy to be brought, practical and effective. STEM-based arranged for herbarium media because it can be more interesting than other bases. This research’s objectives are 1) to develop Pteridophyta herbarium based on STEM to accomplish basic competency of 3.8 and 4.8, 2) to analyze Pteridophyta herbarium validity a learning media, and 3) to analyze the effectiveness of Pteridophyta herbarium media concerning to students’ marks. This method of this research used Research and Development by the ADDIE model. Research data consist of data validity and herbarium effectiveness, analyzed by quantitative descriptive. The result of this research show 1) Pteridophyta herbarium based on STEM media was appropriate with the basic competency of 3.8 and 4.8, 2) Pteridophyta herbarium media was very valid and suitable, and 3) Pteridophyta Herbarium media was effective to be applied in Plantae learning with students’ result completeness ≥75%.

Abstract

Plant tissue competence is to analyze the relationship between structure and function of plant tissue. This study aims to test the validity and effectiveness of the plant tissue module based on blended learning. The research method uses research and development (R & D) which consists of research, development, validation, and field-testing. The research was conducted on learning constraints, teaching materials, and learning materials (plant tissues). Modules are developed from the results of research which are then validated and legibility tests. The field test was conducted at SMA N 1 Jepara by taking 3 classes as a control class (without modules), experiment 1 (using modules), and experiment 2 (using blended learning modules). The results of the characteristics of the blended learning module of plant tissue are images and videos in the module derived from the results of research on plant tissue of xerophytes, mesophytes (monocots and dicots), and hydrophytes in the organs of leaves, stems and roots which are presented along with tissue information to facilitate analysis by comparing between tissue. The results of module validation by teaching materials experts are 97% and learning materials experts are 100% with very valid criteria, and module readability validation is 90% with easy to understand criteria. The results of the effectiveness of the module in the cognitive aspects of the experimental class 2 were higher than the control class and experimental class 1, which was 90,90% with very effective criteria. Classical mastery of the psychomotor and affective aspects of the experimental class 2 by 100% with very effective criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the level of validity, readability, feasibility and effectiveness of interactive e-books. The research method is Research and Development (R&D) according to the syntax of Borg and Gall without a dissemination step. In the needs analysis stage, the results of research to identify ferns that grow in the lowlands, medium plains and highlands of Central Java are used. The results of plant identification were used for e-book development. The result of the initial product readability trial was 86.22%, including very good criteria. The results of the material expert validation for the first stage obtained 77.05% and the second stage results were 84.33%. The result validation of media experts obtained a result of 99.07%. The results of the legibility, validity, and feasibility tests were then tested at a large-scale level. The results of the effectiveness test obtained the pretest average value of 22, 33 and the average posttest score of 88.44. The results of the paired sample t test show a significance of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is a significant relationship before and after using the interactive e-book. The correlation strength is 0.848, indicating a very high correlation. The average value of the activities of students in the attitude aspect of 3.36 criteria is very good. The average value of activities on the aspects of skills during discussion and practicum is 3.38, very good criteria. It is concluded that the interactive e-book of ferns can be used as a valid, practical, and effective learning resource in SMA / MA and can then be disseminated. The correlation strength is 0.848, indicating a very high correlation. The average value of the activities of students in the attitude aspect of 3.36 criteria is very good. The average value of activities on the aspects of skills during discussion and practicum is 3.38, very good criteria. Abstract

E-book This moss plant is an alternative learning resource for students to help them understand the concept of the moss plant material because it is presented in a detailed material coverage accompanied by colorful pictures and equipped with videos that can increase student understanding. The development of the moss e-book has been validated by instructional media experts, material experts and teachers at the Semarang City Biology MGMP forum, and it is stated that the moss plant e-book is very suitable for use in the learning process and can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The seed plant e-book is an online learning solution. Efforts to improve the quality of learning resources for plantae material, mostly seed plants, are carried out by developing interactive e-books to support online learning. The interactive e-book is designed using a scientific and contextual approach. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the interactive e-book on seed plants with a scientific and contextual approach to the learning outcomes of students. This research method is an experiment to measure the effectiveness of using e-books with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group research design to measure learning outcomes. The average of students' learning outcomes in the cognitive aspect is 90.41. The result of the N-Gain calculation of the average learning result or the concept mastery ability test of 0. 72 is included in the high category. Interactive e-books are proven to be effective in improving cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes. The use of e-books in online learning encourages student-centered learning because, in the learning process, students are more active and do not depend on the teacher.

Abstract

The competence of plantae material is grouping plants' characteristics into divisions and linking their roles in life. This study aims to test the validity and effectiveness of the encyclopedia media for medicinal plants in Berastagi and Desa Pantai Labu, North Sumatra. Research methods and development of medicinal plants encyclopedia using the model analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The medicinal plants' encyclopedia was developed from the plant exploration research results, which were then validated and readability tests. The trial was conducted at SMA N 16 Medan using one control class (without an encyclopedia) and one experiment class (using an encyclopedia and textbooks). The exploration and identification of medicinal plant species in Berastagi and Pantai Labu Village found 30 species of medicinal plants belonging to 17 families. The characteristics of the encyclopedia of medicinal plants include images in the encyclopedia from the research results in the form of identification and inclusion of scientific names, local names, and the benefits of medicinal plants. The validation of media experts is 98%, and material experts are 95% with very valid criteria. The media readability test is 90.50% with easy-to-understand standards. The media's effectiveness in the cognitive aspects of the experiment class was higher than the control class, namely by 90% with very effective criteria. Classical mastery of the experiment class's psychomotor aspects and affective aspects was 100% with very effective criteria.

Abstract

The learning model that combines nash (al-Quran and hadith) with Plantae subjects was developed by the teacher to train integrative thinking’s students. This research was aimed to develop a Plantae learning model accompanied by nash (Plantaenash) oriented to scientific literacy to foster students' integrative thinking skills. Integrative thinking skilis in the form of the ability to apply knowledge from various disciplines and contexts into real situations and the ability to analyze. This research method is Research and Development (R & D). The learning model was developed on the basis of needs analysis and particular literature reviews. The research product is a learning model with a teacher's guide sheet. Validity of the products was assessed by experts and teachers with an average score of 85.93% which was classified as "very valid". The results of the effectiveness of the learning model showed a moderate N-Gain value, namely 0.60. The results showed that the Plantae learning model accompanied by nash (Plantaenash) oriented to scientific literacy to foster students 'integrative thinking skills was very valid and effective to use to foster students' integrative thinking skills.

Abstract

Soft skills and entrepreneurial interest are kinds of skills that must be owned by the students to face Indonesian demographic peak bonus (2020-2035). The objective of this research was to analyze the students’ soft skills improvement, entrepreneurial interest and learning outcomes by STEM and bioentrepreneurship oriented project learning model implementation. The method of this research used quasi experimental design with the form one group pretest and post test design. The subjects of this research was tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Wedung with the total students was 64. The instruments used were questionnaire and test. The questionnaire was used to measure the students’ soft skills and entrepreneurial interest meanwhile the test was used to measure the studens’ learning outcomes. The data analysis technique used criteria standard and N-gain. Criteria standard was to measure the soft skills and entrepreneurial interest meanwhile the N-gain was used to measure the improvement of learning outcomes. The result of the research found that average percentage score of students’ soft skills of X MIPA 1 and X MIPA 2 in high category, it was 71,19% meanwhile percentage score of entrepreneurial interest in category of high enough, it was 60%. The average of index gain the students of experiment class was 0,6382 it meant experiment class had high improvement of learning outcomes. It could be concluded that the implementation of STEM and bioentrepreneurship oriented project learning model could improve soft skills, entrepreneurial interest and learning outcomes of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Wedung Kabupaten Demak.
