Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis bagaimana bentuk transformasi pesta pernikahan dari tradisional ke modern pada masyarakat di Kota Palopo. Jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan penelitian sebanyak 9 orang yang dipilih melalui teknik informan purpose sampling dengan kriteria informan yaitu pasangan yang sudah menikah pada tahun 2020-2024, orangtua yang berusia 40-70 tahun, memiliki status sosial, dan masyarakat yang terlibat aktif dalam berbagai aspek pernikahan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan member check. Teknik analisis data digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa bentuk transformasi pesta pernikahan dari tradisional ke modern pada masyarakat di Kota Palopo yaitu prosesi pertunangan, sesi foto prawedding, pemilihan baju pengatin, penentuan lokasi pernikahan, penggunaan jasa pernikahan, dan pelaksanaan akad nikah dan resepsi. Pesta pernikahan mengalami transformasi di Kota Palopo. Perubahan ini mencerminkan pergeseran nilai dan kebiasaan masyarakat akibat modernisasi dan teknologi. Salah satu perubahan utama terlihat dalam prosesi pertunangan yang awalnya bersifat tertutup kini menjadi lebih terbuka dan mewah. Meski mengalami modernisasi, beberapa tradisi tetap dipertahankan sebagai bentuk pelestarian budaya.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas sosialisasi ruang ekologis berbasis nilai-nilai religius pada masyarakat nelayan di Desa Liya One Melangka, Wangi-Wangi Selatan Wakatobi. Rendahnya tingkat kesadaran ini membuat beberapa praktik yang kurang ramah lingkungan masih terjadi, seperti penggunaan alat tangkap yang merusak terumbu karang. Selain itu, sebagian besar masyarakat belum menguasai konsep ekologi dasar, seperti keanekaragaman hayati dan keberlanjutan. Walaupun masyarakat desa ini memiliki kepercayaan yang kuat terhadap ajaran agama, kaitan antara ajaran tersebut dan upaya pelestarian lingkungan belum sepenuhnya terefleksi dalam keseharian mereka. Metode dalam artikel ini dalam tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tindak lanjut. Nilai-nilai religius seperti menjaga amanah dari Tuhan sering kali belum terwujud dalam tindakan ekologis yang konkret, terutama dalam aktivitas penangkapan ikan dan pengelolaan sumber daya laut dengan melakukan sosialisasi dan pembagian brosur ruang ekologis dan religius.

Abstract

Penelitian penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki peran generasi milenial dalam melestarikan kepercayaan masyarakat adat Kajang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah metode penelitian sejarah dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pendekatan kualitatif merupakan jenis penelitian di mana temuan-temuannya tidak diperoleh melalui prosedur statistik atau perhitungan lainnya. Pengumpulan data melibatkan empat tahap, yaitu heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Generasi milenial di masyarakat adat Kajang memiliki peran krusial dalam mempertahankan kepercayaan tradisional dengan terlibat dalam pendidikan, berpartisipasi dalam upacara adat, bekerjasama dengan komunitas lokal, menerapkan nilai-nilai sehari-hari, dan mendapatkan dukungan keluarga. Faktor-faktor yang terlibat dalam melestarikan kepercayaan adat Kajang mencakup kesadaran akan identitas budaya, tantangan era modern, partisipasi dalam acara adat, persepsi terhadap nilai-nilai tradisional, keterlibatan dalam proses pembelajaran, inovasi, kesadaran akan nilai ekonomi dan sosial, serta penerimaan terhadap perbedaan. Generasi muda yang menempuh pendidikan di luar kawasan tetap setia pada Pasang Ri Kajang dan norma adat ketika kembali ke kampung halaman.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the procedures, challenges, and benefits of establishing the Makarorrong Cooperative at UPTD SMAN 1 Nosu as a means of entrepreneurship education for students. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, involving the head of the education unit, deputy head of student affairs, cooperative advisors, and cooperative administrators from teachers and students. The results showed that the establishment of the cooperative was carried out through stages of internal planning meetings, the formation of a founding committee, the drafting of the articles of association, and socialisation to the school community, with the active involvement of all elements of the school as a determining factor for success. However, this process also faced obstacles in the form of limited capital, a lack of managerial training, and minimal external support from the local government. The Makarorrong Cooperative has a positive impact on students, particularly in terms of character building, independence, cooperation, leadership, and a basic understanding of business management gained through hands-on practice. Thus, the cooperative functions not only as a school economic institution but also as a laboratory for entrepreneurship education based on real-world experience. This study confirms that the development of school cooperatives requires a participatory approach and continuous guidance in order to function optimally

Abstract

The preservation of the Maudu Lompoa tradition in Cikoang Village, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi, faces significant challenges due to economic mobility, population migration, and pressures from globalization during the 2019–2024 period. These socio-economic dynamics threaten the continuity of intangible cultural heritage, particularly in the transmission of intergenerational values and in community participation patterns. This study aims to examine (1) the forms of community adaptation in maintaining the Maudu Lompoa tradition, (2) the role of the tradition in strengthening cultural identity and social resilience, and (3) its socio-economic impacts on the Cikoang community during 2019–2024. This study employed a qualitative approach combining ethnographic and historical methods, applying the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, Sayyid groups, and non-Sayyid community members; participant observation of the ritual procession; and secondary documentary sources. Purposive and snowball sampling were used until data saturation was achieved, and the data were analyzed using inductive thematic analysis and triangulation. The results reveal that the Cikoang community adapts through cross-generational value transmission and flexible symbolic participation—such as migrants contributing via remittances or family representatives. The tradition functions as a mechanism for collective identity formation through Islamic-local cultural syncretism and strengthens social resilience through mutual cooperation (gotong royong). Socio-economically, the tradition generates local economic turnover through ritual-related consumption and reinforces a values-based economic ethic grounded in spiritual blessings, sincerity, and communal solidarity. These findings indicate that tradition sustainability is achieved through dynamic cultural negotiation rather than rigid preservation, with implications for cultural tourism policy development in Takalar Regency.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sejarah memegang posisi penting dalam membangun kesadaran sosial, menumbuhkan sikap toleran, serta memperkuat pemahaman mengenai prinsip kesetaraan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Akan tetapi, pelaksanaannya di sekolah masih sering menitikberatkan pada penguasaan fakta dan dominasi sudut pandang tertentu, sehingga nilai keberagaman dan perspektif gender belum terintegrasi secara menyeluruh. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep pembelajaran sejarah yang berlandaskan multikulturalisme dan perspektif gender, menganalisis urgensi penerapannya, serta menguraikan strategi implementasinya di lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kepustakaan melalui penelaahan berbagai literatur yang relevan dengan fokus kajian. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pengintegrasian nilai multikulturalisme dan perspektif gender dalam pembelajaran sejarah memiliki peran penting dalam mencegah tumbuhnya intoleransi dan diskriminasi, membentuk karakter peserta didik yang demokratis dan berkeadilan, serta meningkatkan keterkaitan pembelajaran dengan realitas sosial peserta didik. Penerapan pendekatan tersebut dapat dilakukan melalui pengembangan bahan ajar yang inklusif, penerapan metode pembelajaran partisipatif, analisis kritis terhadap narasi sejarah, integrasi nilai dalam proses evaluasi, serta penguatan budaya sekolah yang inklusif. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran sejarah tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana penyampaian pengetahuan, tetapi juga sebagai media pembentukan karakter yang menghargai keberagaman dan menjunjung tinggi nilai kesetaraan.

Abstract

Pesantren is a distinctive Islamic educational institution in Indonesia that functions not only as a center for transmitting religious knowledge but also as a medium for internalizing values, shaping character, and strengthening social life. This study examines the history of Pondok Pesantren Syekh Hasan Yamani and its influence on Islamic education in West Sulawesi, focusing on its establishment, development, and contributions to the region. This research uses a qualitative approach with a historical perspective, applying methods such as heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were collected through literature review, field observations, interviews with pesantren leaders, teachers, alumni, and community figures, as well as document analysis. This approach enables a systematic reconstruction of the pesantren’s historical development and its social-religious significance. The findings reveal that Pondok Pesantren Syekh Hasan Yamani was established in 1980 under the leadership of KH. Muh. Said Al-Mahdaly, continuing earlier da‘wah activities through religious gatherings and majelis taklim. Over time, the pesantren has adapted to societal changes while maintaining its traditional Islamic values. Its contributions are reflected in strengthening religious education, fostering students’ moral character, and serving as a center for da‘wah and community empowerment. Thus, the pesantren plays a strategic role in developing Islamic education and reinforcing Islamic identity in West Sulawesi.

Abstract

The Pattumateang death tradition in Cikoang Village, Takalar Regency, represents a cultural practice that emerged from a long historical process of acculturation between Islamic teachings and the local customs of the Bugis-Makassar community. This study aims to examine the historical origins of Pattumateang, analyze its forms of cultural acculturation, and explore its continuity as a living tradition into the 21st century. This research employs a historical-anthropological approach using qualitative methods, including heuristic data collection, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation and literature studies. The findings reveal that Pattumateang developed alongside the Islamization of Cikoang since the 17th century through dialogical and accommodative da’wah strategies. The tradition functions not only as a mortuary ritual but also as a social institution that strengthens solidarity, community cohesion, and the intergenerational transmission of religious and cultural values. Amid contemporary social changes, Pattumateang demonstrates adaptive characteristics as a living tradition, capable of adjusting its practices without losing its core meaning. This study contributes to understanding local Islam as a dynamic cultural process shaped through continuous negotiation between religious doctrines and local traditions. It also enriches the discourse on historical anthropology by highlighting how cultural practices persist, transform, and remain relevant across changing social contexts.
