Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan UIN Sumatera Utara di Mushola Al-Musthofa, Desa Jati Kesuma, Deli Serdang, dengan tujuan meningkatkan kemampuan baca tulis Al-Qur’an (BTQ) anak usia dini. Kegiatan dirancang khusus untuk anak-anak yang selama ini belajar mengaji secara mandiri tanpa bimbingan guru tetap, dengan fokus pada peningkatan minat, kemampuan membaca, penerapan tajwid, serta adab membaca Al-Qur’an. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendampingan intensif selama lima hari melalui pembelajaran langsung, latihan terstruktur, dan penanaman nilai-nilai akhlak. Pemilihan lokasi didasarkan pada hasil observasi awal yang menunjukkan minimnya pendampingan formal dalam pembelajaran mengaji. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan BTQ pada sebagian besar peserta, terlihat dari kelancaran membaca, ketepatan penerapan tajwid, dan meningkatnya motivasi belajar. Selain itu, terjalin hubungan positif antara mahasiswa dan masyarakat setempat. Kesimpulannya, program ini efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan BTQ anak usia dini sekaligus menumbuhkan kecintaan terhadap Al-Qur’an sejak dini, serta memperkuat sinergi antara perguruan tinggi dan masyarakat. This community service program, implemented by students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra, took place at Al-Musthofa Prayer Hall in Jati Kesuma Village, Deli Serdang, with the aim of improving early childhood Qur’anic literacy (BTQ) skills. The program specifically targeted children who had been learning to recite the Qur’an independently without the guidance of a permanent teacher, focusing on increasing their interest, reading proficiency, application of tajwid, and proper Qur’anic reading etiquette. The method applied was a five-day intensive mentoring program involving direct instruction, structured practice, and the integration of moral values. The location was selected based on preliminary observations indicating a lack of formal guidance in Qur’anic learning for children in the area. The results showed an improvement in BTQ skills among most participants, as evidenced by smoother reading, more accurate tajwid application, and higher learning motivation. Additionally, positive relationships were established between the students and the local community. In conclusion, this program proved effective in enhancing early childhood BTQ skills, fostering a love for the Qur’an from an early age, and strengthening collaboration between the university and the community.
