Abstract

Bleng adalah bentuk tidak murni dari boraks. Bleng memiliki kandungan boraks dengan jumlah 12% dalam 1 kg. Bleng digunakan dalam produk makanan, seperti kerupuk, karena berfungsi sebagai pengenyal, perenyah, dan memberi rasa gurih pada produk yang dibuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan sensitivitas dan batas deteksi kadar boraks menggunakan metode uji rapid test kit, indikator alami ubi ungu dan kunyit. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan rapid test kit, indikator alami ubi ungu dan kunyit. Indikator alami ubi ungu, kunyit dan rapid test kit digunakan pada sampel tahu yang mengandung boraks. Dari data yang diperoleh, dapat dilihat bahwa batas deteksi boraks dengan metode test kit berada antara 50 mg/gram dan 75 mg/gram. Metode kertas indikator ubi ungu memiliki sensitivitas yang ditunjukkan mulai dari 75 mg/gram. Metode indikator kunyit memiliki batas deteksi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan metode lain seperti test kit atau indikator ubi ungu. Dengan demikian, urutan batas deteksi kadar boraks dari yang paling peka adalah rapid test kit 75 mg/g, indikator ubi ungu 75 mg/g, dan indikator kunyit 400 mg/g. Rapid Test Kit dan Indikator ubi ungu jauh peka lebih dari indikator kunyit dalam mendeteksi keberadaan boraks pada tahu. Ubi ungu mampu mendeteksi boraks pada kadar 75 mg/g melalui perubahan warna menjadi kehijauan, sementara kunyit hanya bereaksi pada kadar 400 mg/g dengan perubahan warna menjadi merah kecoklatan.

Abstract

Students in teacher education programs often experience difficulties in understanding statistical concepts due to their abstract nature and limited connection to real-world contexts. Nevertheless, statistics serves as a fundamental foundation for developing quantitative thinking skills in science education. This study aimed to develop the KIMATIKA Student Worksheet (Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa/LKM), which integrates mathematics and chemistry concepts in the Educational Statistics course to enhance students’ quantitative understanding. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method by adapting the ADDIE model and was conducted up to the development stage. The results of expert judgment validation indicated that the KIMATIKA worksheet demonstrated a very high level of feasibility. The material experts’ evaluation yielded an average score of 4.74 with an ideality percentage of 94.71% (Very Good), while the media experts’ evaluation resulted in an average score of 4.81 with an ideality percentage of 96.25% (Very Good). In addition, students’ evaluations produced an overall average score of 4.58 with an ideality percentage of 91.51%. These findings indicate that the KIMATIKA worksheet is substantively sound, well-structured in its presentation, linguistically appropriate, and visually effective, and it received very positive responses from students in its implementation.
