Abstract

Data compression is a very important process in the world that has been vastly using digital files, such as for texts, images, sounds or videos. Those digital files has a varied size and often taking disk storage spaces. To overcome this problem, many experts created compression algorithms, both for lossy and lossless compression. This research discusses about testing of four lossless compression algorithms that applied for text files, such as LZ77, Static Huffman, LZ77 combined with Static Huffman, and Deflate. Performance comparison of the four algorithms is measured by obtaining the compression ratio. From the test results can be concluded that the Deflate algorithm is the best algorithm due to the use of multiple modes, i.e. uncompressed mode, LZ77 combined with Static Huffman mode, and LZ77 combined with Dynamic Huffman Coding mode. The results also showed that the Deflate algorithm can compress text files and generates an average compression ratio of 38.84%.

Abstract

Lime is a fruit that has been widely cultivated and used in Indonesia. Many products use this fruit in the production process. The process of sorting fruit is undeniably a very substantial early process. It is necessary for large-scale  be aware of this in term of result and time required for the sorting process. Pattern Recognition is a discipline that focuses on classifying or picturing an object based on characteristics or main attribute of the object. In this research, the author implements Haar Wavelet Transformation method by characteristic extraction based on colour and texture ,  performs classification using K-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) to detect indication of rotten lime and the grade of k on k-NN so the accuracy of the result could be acquired. Based on analysis result, Haar Wavelet Transformation method is able to be implemented to detect the indication of rotten lime and most optimal accuracy level of this system reaches the number of 85 percent.

Abstract

Building futsal court need some planning, especially about the materials needed to build a futsal court such as synthetic grass, roofs, walls, benches, and some other materials. Each of materials have many choices usually based on quality and price. Thus it needs a system to assist on calculating the optimum materials combination based on a specified budget. Minimax Route method are used with dynamic programming techniques to maximize the quality of materials while minimizing the price of materials chosen. Based on system testing conducted to futsal court owners in Yogyakarta, the implementation are helpful and have many useful information for someone who want to build futsal court.

Abstract

Makalah ini membahas Penyelesaian Masalah Symmetric Traveling Salesman Problem Dengan Jaringan Saraf Continuous Hopfield Net. Fokus permasalahan adalah seorang salesman harus mengunjungi semua kota sebanyak satu kali dan salesman tersebut harus mulai dari dan kembali ke kota asal. Tujuannya adalah menentukan rute perjalanan dengan jarak total ataupun biaya yang paling minimum. Salah satu bentuk permasalahan TSP adalah symmetric TSP yang menandakan bahwa jarak antar kota bersifat simetrik dengan setiap kota terhubung satu sama lain. Solusi dari permasalahan ini adalah dengan membangun suatu sistem aplikasi untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan symmetric TSP. Adapun penulis menggunakan salah satu metode jaringan saraf tiruan yaitu Continuous Hopfield Net

Abstract

Logic is an analysis of methods of thinking. Logic emphasizes the form more than the content of  arguments. mathematical logic is often also called the symbolic-logic is a part of mathematics that explores the application of formal logic to mathematics. This has a close relationship with the basic fundamental thinking of mathematics and theoretical computer science.In this research we do three important things, the first is conventional symbolic-logic training for SLB Negeri 1 Bantul. The second step is making of symbolic-logic learning application for deaf students called DUTAlogic and the third is seeing the comparison between conventional learning and learning using the DUTAlogic.Based on data analysis that was done. Thar result show that increase in symbolic logic ability (T) is 50%, increase in the ability of symbolic natural accuracy (N) is 50%. The used of DUTAlogic application is more attractive to deaf students because they feel happier, easier, more-understanding, more concentrated and more creative when doing symbolic-logic learning.

Abstract

Church parishioners data management is an important part of the administration of a church. In fact, many churches do it manually where parishionersal data is stored in physical forms or in church record books. This condition happened at GKJ Wates. The initial condition at GKJ Wates is the data from of a physical form . The data is the result of the census about 2 (two) years ago. It is realized that the data has changed a lot, so it is necessary to update before implementing electronic data management. In an effort to assist the administration of the church's data, assistance steps have been developed that include the compilation of attributes relevant to the church's data management. Furthermore, the attributes are compiled into a form that is ready to be filled out by each parishioners. This agreed form is then distributed to the parishioners through their respective district administrators. The church team, assisted by the UKDW PkM team, recorded the parishioners's data electronically, complete with a spiritual journey scheme including baptism, sidi, and marriage. By utilizing Excel Macro, the electrical data of the GKJ Wates parishioners was successfully visualized in the form of a dashboard. The visualized parishioners data includes the percentage of the parishioners by blood type and gender, the church's spiritual journey scheme based on membership category, membership records, age category, and gender. The information on this dashboard can help the church in making decisions related to the development of the parishioners at GKJ Wates.

Abstract

A good curriculum is an important part of an academic process. The curriculum in the Information Systems Department is grouped 5 (five) knowledge clusters, one of which is the Database cluster which will be used in this research. The Database cluster consists of 5 (five) courses, namely SI1433 [Information System Analysis and Design], SI1443 [Database Systems], SI2323 [Database Design], SI3433 [Data Warehousing], SE4323 [Data Mining]. The purpose of this research is to see the relevance of the existence of prerequisite courses in courses in the Database sciences group. Relevance was measured from the independence test of pairs of 2 (two) courses based on the chi-square distribution statistical test. If the course pair shows dependency, then the existence of prerequisites is considered appropriate, whereas if the results show independence, then the prerequisites are not needed. The final conclusion from this research is that the pairs of 5 subjects studied are all dependent except for courses SI1433 (Information System Analysis and Design) and SI3433 (Data Warehousing) with a significant probability value of 0.265. So implementing the prerequisite courses in the Database cluster in the UKDW Information Systems department is relevant.

Abstract

As of May 2022, 787 stocks are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), and the number of stock indices in Indonesia to date is 38. One interesting and important stock index is the LQ45 index. Because this index is a very important reference index for investors, this research data focuses on stocks in the LQ45 index. There are two essential things in the forecasting process: the data and the right forecasting method. Two forecasting methods that can be used are Brown and Holt's Double Exponential Smoothing (DES). This study examines two methods with the lowest accuracy error in forecasting the LQ45 stock price data. Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) is used to measure the accuracy of the error. The analysis methods used to compare the MAPE of the two methods are the F test for variance similarity, Boxplot, t-test to test paired means with different cases of variance, and Wilcoxon signed rank test to test paired means nonparametric statistics. The result is that the MAPE average with Holt's DES method is smaller than the average MAPE with Brown's DES method. This is supported by the t-test for paired means with different cases of variance and also supported by the Wilcoxon signed exact rank test. Meanwhile, the MAPE standard deviation with Holt's DES method is smaller than the MAPE standard deviation with Brown's DES method. This is supported by the F test to test the variance similarity and is visually supported by a Boxplot diagram. From this study, LQ45 stocks with the smallest MAPE value accuracy are ICBP stocks. In general, based on the MAPE value, Holt's DES method is better than Brown's DES method in predicting the prices of stocks in the LQ45 index.

Abstract

The Holt-Winter method and ARIMA(p,d,q) are two frequently used forecasting techniques. When using ARIMA, errors are expected to be connected with earlier errors because it is based on data correlation with prior data (autoregressive) (moving average). The Holt-Winter model comes in two different forms: Multiplicative Holt-Winter and Additive Holt-Winter. No one has ever attempted to compare combined time series and cross-section data, despite the fact that there has been a great deal of prior study on ARIMA and Holt-Winter. In a combined time-series and cross-section dataset, the accuracy rates of Holt-Winter and ARIMA(p,d,q) will be compared in this study. LQ45 stock prices are used because they track the performance of 45 stocks with substantial liquidity, sizable market caps, and solid underlying businesses. The Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) method is used to gauge accuracy. This study contributes to MAPE exploration by using a Boxplot diagram from cross-sectional data. With the Boxplot diagram, we can see the MAPE spread, the MAPE's center point, and the presence of outliers from the MAPE of LQ45 stock. According to the findings of this empirical study, the average error rate for predicting LQ45 stock prices using ARIMA is 7,0390%, with a standard deviation of 7,7441%; for multiplying Holt-Winter, it is 29,3919%, with a standard deviation of 25,7571%; and for additive Holt-Winter, it is 18,0463%, with a standard deviation of 18,3504%. Apart from numerical comparisons, it can also be seen visually, based on the Boxplot diagram, that the MAPE of ARIMA(p,d,q) is more focused than Holt-Winter. In addition, in terms of accuracy distribution, it can be seen that the MAPE accuracy of the ARIMA method produces four outliers. Based on the MAPE accuracy rate, we conclude that Holt-Winter has a bigger error based on the MAPE value than ARIMA(p,d,q) at forecasting LQ45 stock prices.

Abstract

Kompetisi Olimpiade Sains Nasional (OSN) yang rutin diselenggarakan setiap tahunnya membutuhkan persiapan dari siswa-siswa sekolah yang ingin mengikuti kompetisi tersebut.  SMA Pangudi Luhur Yogyakarta ingin mengikuti kompetisi tersebut dengan mengirimkan beberapa siswanya, sehingga membutuhkan pelatihan OSN untuk siswa-siswanya. Tim PKM dari Fakultas Teknologi Informasi bersedia untuk mengadakan pelatihan OSN dengan menyiapkan materi-materi dengan topik algoritma, logika dan aritmatika sesuai dengan silabus OSN.  Pelatihan dilaksanakan selama 14 pertemuan di kampus Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana.  Pelatihan tersebut telah berhasil dilaksanakan dengan baik dan berhasil memenuhi kebutuhan dari pihak sekolah. Pada materi algoritma didapatkan peningkatan rata-rata nilai post-test terhadap rata-rata nilai pre-test, yaitu meningkat dari 57,14 menjadi 97,14. Hasil evaluasi dari pelaksanaan pelatihan ini secara umum sudah baik dan sesuai kebutuhan, walaupun ada beberapa permasalahan seperti jadwal pelatihan yang terpaksa mundur dan tingkat partisipasi siswa yang makin menurun pada beberapa pertemuan akhir.
