Abstract

Abstract

The development of this learning tool is an effort to strengthen the intelligence of students in all aspects, especially the spiritual aspect. The development of mathematics learning is one part of the effort to form spiritual intelligence among students which in turn can become the prime generation in today's technological civilization. Mathematics is not only taught as arithmetic, but also becomes a very important religious knowledge for students in shaping their character. This research is a research on the development of theological mathematics learning tools, which describe validity (learning tools), practicality (learning implementation), and effectiveness (student activities, student responses, completeness of student learning outcomes, and obstacles encountered during the learning process). This research was carried out in several stages. First, the stage of developing integrated learning tools which is carried out by adopting the 4-D learning development model, including Define, Design, Develop, and Dissimilate. Second, the research stage is on learning tools at SDN in Sumenep district. The results of the study describe the learning tools used in this study. First, the validity of the theological mathematics learning tools, RPP, BAS, LKS and LP are considered valid and feasible to use. Second, the practicality of learning tools is taken from observational data on the implementation of learning in each meeting. Third, the effectiveness of the developed learning tools can be seen from the data of student activities, student responses, student learning outcomes tests, both student activities, student responses, student learning outcomes can be categorized as good.

Abstract

Problem-solving is a critical 21st-century skill that should be nurtured from an early age. However, elementary students often face challenges in mathematical problem-solving due to low self-efficacy, which can hinder their creativity and cognitive engagement. This study investigates the relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical problem-solving ability in elementary school students. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. The sample consisted of 60 fourth-grade students from SDN Nurul Bayan, randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Data were collected using a 35-item self-efficacy questionnaire and a mathematical problem-solving test comprising 9 descriptive items. Prior to hypothesis testing, the instruments underwent validity, reliability, normality, and homogeneity testing. Statistical analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and mathematical problem-solving ability. The Pearson correlation coefficient was r = 0.553, with a p-value = 0.001, indicating a moderate and statistically significant relationship. These findings align with Bandura’s theory of self-efficacy, emphasizing its critical role in academic achievement. Enhancing self-efficacy appears to support the development of students' creative and analytical thinking in mathematical contexts. The study highlights the importance of incorporating psychological factors into mathematics instruction and suggests that pedagogical strategies should actively promote student confidence from an early stage.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The integration of digital technology in primary education has become increasingly urgent in the era of 21st-century learning transformation. However, teachers’ readiness to implement deep learning approaches and instructional innovation remains a challenge, particularly in non-urban areas such as Sumenep Regency. Methodology: A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving six purposively selected teachers as primary data sources. Data were collected through classroom observations and structured interviews and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Main Findings: The findings reveal that teachers’ conceptual understanding of deep learning remains limited, and its classroom application has not reached a transformative level. Teacher readiness is influenced by insufficient training, inadequate infrastructure, weak institutional support, and varying levels of self-efficacy. Systemic barriers such as limited technological access and lack of supportive school policies hinder also implementation efforts. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study uniquely examines teacher readiness for deep learning-oriented instruction in an underrepresented context—rural elementary schools in Indonesia. Unlike previous research that predominantly focuses on urban or secondary education settings, this study captures the real-world constraints and opportunities for digital transformation in low-resource environments. It also broadens the conceptual framing of “deep learning” beyond technology, integrating pedagogical depth and reflective teaching practices. The implications highlight the urgency of designing context-based, practice-oriented teacher training programs and developing supportive policies that enable sustainable digital pedagogy.
