Abstract

This paper discusses the water management conducted by Telkom University, including the fundamental considerations to be taken into account, the implementing organization, the design methods for rainwater systems, and practical experiences in constructing Rainwater Harvesting systems. The management is aware of the conditions and situations related to clean water users, estimates of clean water requirements, potential water sources, and the campus environmental situation. Based on various studies and supported by rainfall data from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency, a simple calculation was used to derive the design of the Rainwater Harvesting system, which was subsequently implemented. There are several lessons learned from this implementation, including the need for improvements in the foundation structure of soak pits, recommending the construction of ground tanks during the dry season, and the flexibility of ground tank size depending on the availability of funds The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions.

Abstract

Lokasi masyarakat sasar terletak di desa Bojongsari ini hanya berjarak 2,5 km dari kampus Universitas Telkom. Dengan sinergi antara perguruan tinggi dengan perusahaan pemberi dana CSR, banyak solusi yang bisa dilakukan untuk menyelesaikan berbagai masalah yang terjadi di masyarakat. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) skema kolaborasi multi-years di Madrasah Darul Muttaqin Al-Insani, telah berhasil mengubah paradigma dari lembaga pendidikan non-formal biasa menjadi luar biasa, yang ditandai dengan banyaknya prestasi yang diraih baik oleh individu siswa maupun oleh lembaganya. Untuk mencapainya, perlu diskusi panjang untuk melahirkan perencanaan yang matang, tahapan solusi yang logis dalam rentang 4 tahun (2019-2022), serta memadukan kemampuan finansial donatur dan kompetensi personil yang dilibatkan sesuai dengan masalah yang disolusikan.

Abstract

Bonus demografi penduduk Indonesia akan terjadi pada tahun 2030- 2045. Hal ini merupakan keuntungan jika berhasil mendidik generasi mudanya. Siswa SMK yang saat ini berumur sekitar 14 – 17 tahun, merupakan usia produktif pemula, namun tingkat pengangguran lulusan SMK di Indonesia masih tinggi dimana pada Agustus 2022 sebesar 9,42 %. Sedangkan tingkat pengangguran lulusan SMA sebesar 8,57 %, dan lulusan SMP 5,95 %. Masalah lain tingkat kesehatan masyarakat Indonesia tergolong rendah. Tahun 2023 Global Health Security Index (GHSI) melaporkan skor rata-rata adalah 38,9 poin. Indeks ketahanan kesehatan global Indonesia pada tahun 2021 sebesar 50,4 dari skor 100 poin dan menempati peringkat ke-13 dalam negara G20. Pengabdian masyarakat ini berupa pelatihan pembuatan alat elektrolisis berupa water ionizer, yang menghasilkan air alkali dan air asam untuk kesehatan. Air alkali memiliki kandungan ion kalsium, magnesium, natrium, dan kalium lebih banyak dari air biasa sehingga dapat menguatkan tulang, sendi, otot, dan melancarkan peredaran darah. Air asam yang dihasilkan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai antiseptik dan desinfektan. Pada program pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2023, dihasilkan satu unit water ionizer dengan kapasitas 1000 liter. Setelah dilakukan beberapa kali pengujian alat dapat berfungsi dengan baik. Air keran yang ada di SMK Merdeka dengan pH 7,1 dan diubah menjadi air alkali dengan pH 8,5.

Abstract

This research titled "Designing Terrestrial Infrared Free Space Optics Communication for Urban Connectivity: MRT Indonesia" explores the application of Free Space Optics (FSO) technology in the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) transportation system in Indonesia. Utilizing 16-QAM modulation and MIMO antennas, this study demonstrates that FSO can provide efficient and reliable communication, even in challenging weather conditions. Solutions for curved routes or those without Line of Sight (LoS) are also identified, including the use of FSO, optimal route selection, and the installation of repeaters or relay stations. The benefits resulting from the implementation of this technology include fast and reliable connectivity, flexibility in route adjustment, and enhanced security and privacy for passengers.

Abstract

In 2045, Indonesia is projected to become a developed country, with the 4th largest economy in the world. This prediction is motivated by the demographic bonus that will occur in 2030-2040. This is an advantage if you succeed in educating the younger generation. On the other hand, it will be a "disaster" if the quality of Indonesian society is not well prepared. Indonesia is a country that has solar energy potential of 207.8 GWp and rainfall ranging from 2000-3000 mm per year. The large potential of solar energy and rainwater has not been utilized optimally. Rainwater can be a source of water that is refreshing and safe to use for daily needs. Another problem is that there are still vocational school alumni who are unemployed, so their level of welfare is still lacking. This community service program has been carried out for students and teachers at Vocational School 6 in the city of Bandung in the form of counseling and making 1000-liter rainwater harvesting storage or water ionizers using energy sources from 200-Watt solar cell modules. The results of the questionnaire show that the average agree/strongly agree score is 93.3% and the community accepts and hopes that activities like this will continue in the future

Abstract

The use of ground tank constructed by Telkom University for Rainwater Harvesting (RWH), is limited to environmental maintenance due to concerns regarding the quality of water in the underground tank. Therefore, this research aims to develop a remote monitoring device that uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology to monitor the pH, water surface, submerged materials, and water clarity levels in ground tank. To achieve the requirements, pH, ultrasonic-based volume, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and Turbidity sensors were selected due to the IoT connectivity. The enabling device, namely the ESP 32 microcontroller and Blynk platform were installed on monitoring dashboard on a tablet computer with 4GB of RAM. The result showed that calibration of each sensor had good accuracy, except for the Turbidity sensor due unavailable materials. In conclusion, the RWH monitoring system is suitable for use.

Abstract

Data center cooling system is consuming large amounts of power, which requires effective control to reduce operational costs and deliver optimal server performance. The high power consumption occurs because traditional cooling methods struggle to adapt dynamically to workloads, causing wasteful power consumption. Therefore, this study aimed to explore the use of machine learning methods to improve energy efficiency for data center cooling system. For the experiment, an RL (Reinforcement Learning) model was designed to adjust cooling parameters with dynamic environmental changes. The method focused on optimizing energy efficiency while maintaining stable temperature and humidity control. By applying RL-based control method to PAC system, this study contributed original results that validated the effectiveness of RL-simulated data center environments. Specifically, the stages included developing system model, creating simulations using the PAC control system, and training an RL model with environmental conditions. Data were collected from simulations and analyzed to test the model performance, and the outcomes were presented using a real-time monitoring interface with Flask. The results showed that the RL model achieved an average reward of 4.76 (between -5 and 5), a convergence rate 13.2, a sampling efficiency 10.15, and a stability score 2.6. The model effectively reduced temperature and increased humidity during stressed data center operations. When compared with a fixed cooling system, RL showed superior adaptability to workload variations and reduced unnecessary energy consumption. However, scalability to real data center remained an issue, which required more than simulation validation. In conclusion, the RL-based method optimized efficiency of cooling system, showing the potential to improve energy savings and operational resilience in data center environments.

Abstract

Air merupakan sumber daya yang penting bagi semua makhluk hidup, manusia, hewan dan tumbuhan. Air sudah menjadi kebutuhan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari seperti minum, mandi, memasak, kebutuhan industri. Oleh karena itu, air harus tetap ada untuk kelangsungan hidup. Menurut BMKG, pH ideal air hujan biasanya 5,6 - 6. Air dengan nilai pH 5,6 - 6 tidak cocok untuk aktivitas manusia 24 jam sehari - hari Air di reservoir kemudian diolah dalam sistem elektrolisis dengan pH 5,6-6. Sistem elektrolitik adalah reaksi dekomposisi dalam larutan elektrolit di bawah pengaruh arus listrik. Air yang diolah dengan sistem elektrolisis mengubah pH menjadi 7, yang cocok untuk penggunaan sehari-hari. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah air hujan dapat bermanfaat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari setelah proses elektrolisis dan dapat mengurangi kemungkinan terjadinya banjir. Pengguna dapat dengan mudah memeriksa kondisi air karena sistem pemantauan pH dan kekeruhan air digunakan, yang memungkinkan pengguna untuk secara teratur memeriksa tingkat pH air dan kekeruhan air.Kata Kunci : Air Hujan, Kadar pH, Alat, Elektrolisis.

Abstract

Panel Surya merupakan peralatan pembangkit listrik yang dapat mengubah cahaya matahari menjadi energi listrik. Panel surya adalah perangkat semikonduktor area luas yang terdiri dari susunan dioda tipe p dan n. Panel surya juga sering juga disebut Solar Cell, atau Solar Photovoltaic, atau Solar Energy. Dengan konsep yang sederhana yaitu mengubah cahaya matahari menjadi energi listrik yang mana cahaya matahari adalah salah satu bentuk energi dari Sumber Daya Alam. Cahaya matahari sudah banyak digunakan untuk memasok daya listrik di satelit komunikasi melalui sel surya. Sel surya ini dapat menghasilkan energi yang tidak terbatas langsung diambil dari matahari, tidak memerlukan bahan bakar.
