Abstract

The first 1000 days of life are critical times in the child's growth and development stage. Nutrition and stimulation received by infants have a long-term impact on life during adulthood. Baby spa is a form of stimulation that combines baby massage and swimming which has many benefits for babies. The purpose of this study was to determine changes in body weight of infants aged 6-12 months before and after getting a baby spa. The design of the study was comparative analytic, with a prospective approach. The study population of 35 infants using accidental sampling technique obtained a sample of 32 infants aged 6-12 months who met the inclusion criteria. The research instrument used baby weight scales. Data analysis using paired t test. The results showed that there was a change in body weight of infants aged 6-12 months before and after receiving a baby spa with an average body weight before baby spa 8092.19 grams to 8673.44 grams after 2 treatments (p value <0.001). Baby spas can increase vagus nerve tone (10th brain nerve) which causes an increase in the levels of the enzyme absorption of gastrin and insulin, so that food absorption will be better and can increase the baby's weight. A baby spa with regular frequency is needed to maximize the growth and development of the baby. Keywords: Baby Weight, Baby Spa

Abstract

Adolescent nutrition problems need to be the focus of attention because the nutritional status of young women (premarital) has a large influence on the health of pregnancy and birth if the teenager becomes a mother. This study was conducted to analyze the age of menarche and menstrual patterns based on the nutritional status of young women in Malang City. This study was a cross-sectional study carried out in Senior High School 3 Malang, with the subject of 75 young women selected by simple random sampling method. Data on the characteristics, age of menarche and menstrual patterns were obtained using a questionnaire with structured interviews. Data about weight, height, upper arm circumference and abdominal circumference were obtained by measurement. Data analysis was done by univariate and bivariate (chi-square). The results showed that 14.67% of female adolescents were included in malnutrition status, 13.33% over nutrition status (BMI / U), 25.33% had SEZ, and 22.67% more nutritional status (abdominal circumference> 80cm). This study showed no significant relationship between age of menarche with nutritional status (p> 0.05), but there was a significant relationship between menstrual patterns and nutritional status (p <0.05). Efforts to improve nutritional status for quality must begin as early as possible, especially for school children as the next generation of the nation. Abstract

Background: Pain management for LBW undergoing treatment in hospital is crucial. LBW often receive invasive procedures, so both pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management is needed. Therefore, non-pharmacological pain management is needed which not only reduces pain but can stimulate the baby's growth and development. Purpose: To analyze the success of pain management using non-pharmacological methods during intravenous insertion procedures, blood sampling, and to assess the effect on pain reduction by measuring using the Premature Infant Pain Profile (PIPP) score. Method: Review of research articles obtained from the ProQuest, Science Direct, PubMed, Oxford, and SAGE Journal databases. The inclusion criteria for this study were articles with a randomized control trial (RCT) research design published between 2017-2023. The keywords used in the PICO search process were "Neonate, pain assessment, reduced pain, invasive procedures. The search identified 938 studies that were relevant, and seven studies met the inclusion criteria. Article quality evaluation was carried out through the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) to assess the quality of research articles, and thematic analysis was used as a data analysis method. Results: A review of seven articles shows that various effective non-pharmacological pain management in premature and full-term babies are oral stimulation using sweet solutions, audio stimulation, kangaroo mother care (KMC), crochet octopus, HSTT and baby swaddling. A combination of several interventions Non-pharmacological pain management is more effective than one type of intervention. Conclusion: A combination of several non-pharmacological pain management interventions can effectively reduce pain in LBW. Suggestion: Neonatal nurses are expected to be able to utilize the KMC method, use of octopus crochet, baby positioning, and swaddling techniques to reduce pain response, increase comfort, and growth and development in low birth weight (LBW) babies.   Keywords: Decreased Pain; Invasive Action; Neonate; Non Pharmacological; Pain Management.
