Abstract

The transmission of COVID-19 could have physical, psychological and social impacts, especially on healthcare workers. As healthcare workers, nurses were often faced with situations that made their work more difficult and were at risk for infection due to the transmission of COVID-19. This scoping review used a 5-stage methodology developed by Arksey and O'Malley which aimed to identify psychosocial impacts on healthcare workers. This review used 4 databases (PubMed, Springer, Sagejournals, Science Direct) which were limited to 2019-2021. The total study obtained 731 articles, meanwhile, only 7 articles met the criteria. The study's inclusion criteria were in full-text form, population of healthcare workers, English and original articles. From the 7 articles obtained, it was mentioned several psychological and social disorders among healthcare workers, including major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic, post traumatic stress disorder and substance use disorder. Anxiety, depression, somatization, moderate-high levels of anxiety, depression, fear, acute stress disorder and coping, self-efficacy, insomnia, being the target of community rejection, discrimination, and stigmatization could affect health services. Therefore, healthcare workers as the front line who faced the risk of psychological and social disorders directly, needed special attention that could affect the quality of health services.

Abstract

Suicide is the third leading cause of death worldwide. Most of the suicide attempters were taken to the emergency room (ER) of general hospitals for treatment. The response and attitudes of emergency nurses have an important role in determining the success of treatment in patients with suicide attempts and self-harm. The purpose of this study is to determine the response and attitudes of emergency nurses in general hospitals in treating patients with attempted suicide and self-harm. Searching for articles was done through Pubmed, ProQuest, Ebsco and Scopus databases with the keywords "emergency department nursing", "suicide", "nurses' attitudes". Then an analysis was carried out according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria to determine the appropriateness of the articles. From the results of the study of 8 articles, it was found that the ER nurses showed a negative response and attitudes towards patients with suicide attempts and self-harm. They needed standardized guidelines or protocols from hospitals as a reference in treating patients with psychiatric emergencies. Other needs of ER nurses are education and training in emergency psychiatric management. Most of the nurses showed poor attitudes and response towards patients with attempted suicide and self-harm. It occurred as a result of the lack of emergency psychiatric education and training and lack of hospital protocols.

Abstract

Dewasa kini, banyak perdebatan tentang kesehatan mental secara global yang semakin membutuhkan dan mempertimbangkan kolaborasi antara pengobatan berbasis biomedik dan tradisional. Meskipun pada saat ini tidak banyak penelitian yang menuliskan variable yang akan mempengaruhi kolaborasi tersebut. Tujuan dari literature review ini adalah untuk menganalisa hasil penelitian terkait pengaruh pengobatan tradisional terhadap pasien dengan gangguan mental.Penulisan jurnal ini menggunakan pendekatan studi literature dari beberapa database, yaitu PubMed, Clinical key dan google scholar. Secara total, literature review terdiri dari 5 jurnal; 5 penelitian melaporkan hasil yang efektif terkait kolaborasi antara pengobat tradisional dan pengobatan medis dalam menangani pasien dengan gangguan mental. Berdasarkan penelitian ini bahwa, pengobat tradisional bisa dijadikan referensi pengobatan bagi pasien dengan gangguan mental. Kolaborasi antara praktisi kesehatan dan tradisional dapat memberikan pengobatan yang lebih konverhensif dan efektif, meningkatkan akses perawatan dan berpotensi mengurangi beban penyakit mental yang dialami oleh pasien.

Abstract

Abstrak: Mahasiswa sebagai generasi muda berpotensi yang kelak akan menggantikan generasi lama, mempunyai hendaknya disiapkan dengan sebaik-baiknya, tidak hanya secara intelektual tetapi juga dalam Kesehatan jiwa. Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) dengan jumlah mahasiswa kurang lebih dari dua puluh ribu lebih, telah banyak mengakses layanan konseling yang disediakan oleh universitas rata-rata orang perbulannya. Angka ini cukup fantastis dan diperkirakan yang belum tercakup dengan maksimal. Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) UMY merupakan organisasi otonom yang paling dekat dengan mahasiswa diharapkan dapat menjangkau mahasiswa yang belum dapat terbantu dalam konseling ini. Namun demikian, BEM UMY belum memiliki wadah yang dapat melayani ini, sehingga perlu dibentuk tim Peer Counsellor. Oleh karena itu tim Peer counsellor yang telah terbentuk kemudian diberikan pelatihan selama dua hari secara intensif. Pelatihan dilaksanakan dengan memberikan pelatihan cara melaksanakan konseling dan melakukan psychological first aid (PFA). Pelatihan ini melibatkan 17 orang. Hasil dari pelatihan ini adalah adanya peningkatkan efikasi diri dalam memberikan konseling.   Abstract: Students, as the prospective successors of the older generation, should be adequately equipped, both intellectually and in terms of mental well-being. Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), with a student population of over twenty thousand, avails the university's counselling services for an average monthly rate. This amount is remarkable and is believed to be incompletely accounted for. The UMY Student Executive Board (BEM), as the primary autonomous organization representing students, is anticipated to effectively engage with students who have not yet received assistance from this counselling service. Nevertheless, BEM UMY now lacks a platform capable of offering this service, thus necessitating the establishment of a Peer Counsellor Team. Consequently, the Peer Counsellor Team underwent a rigorous two-day training program. The training includes instruction on conducting counselling sessions and administering psychological first aid (PFA). There were 17 participants in this training. The outcome of this training is a boost in self-efficacy when it comes to delivering counselling.

Abstract

Background- Elderly is a transitional period in which a person experiences a decrease in the body's abilities physically and psychologically. One of changes that occurred significantly was the psychological condition of anxiety. Progressive muscle relaxation therapy can prevent anxiety by regulating the parasympathetic nervous system and the hypothalamus to increase positive attitudes so that stressor activation in the hypothalamus is minimized. Purpose: This case study aims to determine the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation therapy in reducing anxiety in the elderly. Method: This study used a method in the form of a case study on one patient. Previously, the patient's anxiety level was measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale questionnaire and then given progressive muscle relaxation therapy intervention for 7 days on a regular basis and then observed on the 4th and 7th day to assess the effectiveness of the intervention. Results: The results of the study showed that after therapy, the anxiety level of the elderly decreased from moderate anxiety (score 24) to mild anxiety (score 16) within 7 days of the intervention. Conclusion: There is an effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy on the level of anxiety in elderly.

Abstract

Penyandang Disabilitas Mental (PDM) adalah seseorang yang mengalami gangguan mental yang berdampak pada fungsi personal, sosial dan pekerjaan. Rehabilitasi sangat dibutuhkan PDM untuk mencapai pemulihan. Bercocok tanam merupakan salah satu kegiatan rehabilitasi pada PDM di Balai Rehabilitasi Terpadu Penyandang Disabilitas (BRTPD). PDM memiliki motivasi yang rendah dan kemampuan motorik yang terbatas, sehingga membutuhkan pendampingan untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan motorik agar konsisten dalam rehabilitasi berkebun. Tujuan program adalah meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan motorik PDM dalam kegiatan rehabilitasi berkebun di BRTPD. Program dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan. Pelaksana adalah tim pengabdian yang memiliki keahlian di bidang kesehatan jiwa dan pertanian bersama tim pendamping di BRTPD. Peserta adalah 20 PDM di BRTPD, berusia 18-50 tahun, kondisi klinis stabil, bersedia mengikuti program. Peserta mengikuti kegiatan motivasi, senam stimulasi otak sebanyak 4 kali untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan kemampuan motorik PDM. Motivasi dan kemampuan motorik PDM diukur di awal dan akhir program. Terjadi peningkatan motivasi dan kemampuan motorik PDM. Kegiatan senam bersama dan merawat kebun tetap rutin dilaksanakan oleh PDM secara berkesinambungan oleh pendamping yang telah dilatih oleh tim Pengabdian. Luaran lain adalah tersusunnya modul rehabilitasi berkebun bagi PDM yang menjadi acuan bagi pendamping di BRTPD

Abstract

This study aims to describe the experiences of frontline nurses in dealing with COVID-19 patients during the pandemic. This research method uses a scoping review method with a search method on four journal databases consisting of Sage, PubMed, Science Direct, and Proquest. The results obtained were 424 articles were found in the journal database but only 9 articles met the criteria and were included in this study. Qualitative research data show that nurses experience psychological, social, and emotional stress. However, nurses can prepare coping strategies using self-care, distraction, and peer and family support. In conclusion, nurses in charge of caring for COVID-19 patients have serious challenges in maintaining individual coping with negative psychological and social responses. Therefore, it is important to strengthen government support and policies to improve nurses' welfare. Keywords: COVID-19, Qualitative, Experience, Frontline Nurse

Abstract

Students are part of the academic community in a tertiary institution which often has problems that pose a heavy psychological risk. High demands on nursing students often cause academic stress. Handling stress can be done in medical and non-medical ways. One of the non-medical therapies that can be done is progressive muscle relaxation techniques. To determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation therapy on reducing stress levels in STIKES Guna Bangsa Yogyakarta nursing students. This study uses the Quasi Experiment model Nonequivalent control group design. The population was nursing students at STIKES Guna Bangsa Yogyakarta with a sample of 36 respondents who were divided into intervention and control groups. The sampling technique used random sampling. The measuring tool used is the student-life Stress Inventory (SSI) questionnaire. Bivariate test using parametric paired t-test. The stress level in the intervention group before the intervention was in the low stress category of 50.0% and after the intervention was in the low stress category of 61.1%. The stress level in the control group at the beginning of the measurement was in the low stress category of 50.0% and at the end of the measurement was in the moderate stress category of 50.0%. The results of the analysis test using the paired sample T-test in the intervention group showed a significance of 0.000. While in the control group showed a significance of 0.310. There is an effect of progressive muscle relaxation on reducing stress levels in STIKES Guna Bangsa Yogyakarta nursing students

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Terdapat tiga aspek dengan bobot yang sama, yaitu: kognitif, psikomotor, dan soft skill atau professional behaviours sebagai aktivitas profesional yang harus dilakukan oleh perawat sebagai tenaga kesehatan dan menjadi salah satu kompetensi yang harus dicapai oleh mahasiswa selama proses pembelajaran. Maka diterapkannya self-management dalam konseling agar mahasiswa dapat mengubah perilaku negatifnya dan mengembangkan perilaku positifnya. Tujuan: Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan professional behaviours mahasiswa tingkat II program studi DIII keperawatan AKPER YKY pada kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol setelah pelatihan self-management. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksprimen semu, yang melibatkan mahasiswa. Dengan Rancangan Penelitian Quasi Eksperimen Nonequivalent Control Group Design, satu diberikan perlakuan (kelompok intervensi) dan yang tidak diberi apa-apa (kelompok kontrol). Teknik sampling dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Incidental Sampling. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah Paired T test dan Independent t Test. Hasil: Hasil penelitian secara kuantitatif untuk uji beda mean nilai professional behaviours setelah dilakukan pelatihan self management pada kelompok intervensi dan kontrol memiliki nilai p=0,643 (dimana p>0,05) dapat disimpulkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Kesimpulan: Simpulan penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan setelah pelatihan self management antara kelompok intervensi dan kontrol.

Abstract

Perilaku bullying merupakan perilaku kekerasaan yang melibatkan ketidakseimbangan kekuasaan dengan tujuan membuat orang lain merasa tidak dilakukan atas dasar perbedaan pada penampilan, budaya, agama dan lain-lain. Perilaku bullying yang terjadi mulai dari lingkungan pergaulan hingga di lingkungan sekolah sangat beragam dapat berupa verbal maupun fisik.Peran guru terhadap bullying pada siswa yaitu sebagai orang yang membimbing atau yang memberi nasehat dan mengarahkan serta membina siswa sehingga dapat mengatasi kasus atau masalah yang terjadi mengenai bullying dan agar dapat meminimalisir bullying yang terjadi disekolah, sehingga perilaku siswa bisa menjadi lebih baik.Tujuan:Untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran guru dalam mencegah perilaku bullying di sekolah. Desain:Literatur review Metode: penelesuran menggunakan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, Studi ini diperoleh dan dicari secara elektronik dengan database yaitu google cendekia(2013-2017) dan sage journals (2013-2107). Strategi pencarian yang dilakukan dengan istilah yang digunakan dalam bahasa Inggris adalah sebagai berikut: “Bullying”, “Prevention”, “Teacher”. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa peran guru dalam sekolah sangat penting dalam menurunkan dan menekan perilaku bullying siswa. Pencegahan tersebut dilakukan dengan cara membentuk karakter siswa dan menjalin hubungan yang positif dengan siswa. Kesimpulan:Guru memiliki peran penting dalam menekan angka kejadian bullying siswa
