Abstract

This research discusses oppression of women and the patriarchal system in Nawal el Saadawi's novel Catatan Dari Penjara Perempauan uses a radical feminism approach. The novel shows how women experience structural repression institutionalized by the state, religion, and patriarchal culture. The female characters in the novel are depicted as subjects whose bodies and minds are controlled by the system of power, but also show various forms of active resistance to this domination. Through symbolic actions, verbal expressions, and legal awareness, they dismantle oppressive power relations. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with literature study techniques on the text of the novel as the main data source. The analysis was conducted by identifying forms of oppression and women's resistance reflected in the novel's narrative. The radical feminism approach is used because it is able to unravel the ideological roots of oppression against women, especially through control over women's bodies and expressions in a patriarchal system and authoritarian regime. The results show that this novel is not only a record of Nawal El Saadawi's personal experience, but also an ideological field of resistance to systemic patriarchal power. Thus, this study emphasizes the role of literature as a medium of social criticism and a space for struggle for gender equality.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) mengidentifikasi perbedaan deiksis persona kedua yang terdapat dalam novel AQQ karya Sakinah Ibrahim dan novel LP karya Andrea Hirata. 2) Mengidentifikasi persamaan deiksis persona kedua yang terdapat dalam novel AQQ karya Sakinah Ibrahim dan novel LP karya Andrea Hirata. Objek yang digunakan peneliti adalah dieksis persona kedua yang terdapat di dalam novel Asyakir Qaus Quzh karya Sakinah Ibrahim dan novel Laskar Pelangi karya Andrea Hirata. Adapun Metode yang diterapkan adalah metode deskriptif komparatif. Sedangkan untuk pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan pragmatik.Adapun perbedaan bentuk deiksis persona kedua yang termuat dalam kedua novel tersebut, diantaranya adalah adanya pembagian berdasarkan aspek gendernya (laki-laki atau perempuan). Kemudian perbedaan yang kedua, terletak di penggunaan istilah lain di luar (kamu, -mu, kalian, anda, dst). Digunakannya istilah lain, berupa: ananda, ibu, bapak, nyonya, tuan, dst. Sedangkan dalam bahasa Arab, istilah-istilah khusus tersebut tidak ada. Selanjutnya perbedaan yang ketiga adalah bentuk deiksis persona kedua khusus yang memiliki kesan hormat dan formal, seperti saya, anda, dan beliau. Kasus ini terdapat dalam bahasa indonesia, adapun dalam bahasa Arab itu tidak ada. Perbedaan ragam bentuk deiksis persona kedua yang terdapat kedua novel tersebut, secara mendasar dipengaruhi oleh konteks budaya serta kaidah penerjemahan dari bahasa sumber ke bahasa sasaran. Kata Kunci: Pragmatik, Deiksis Persona Kedua, ‘Asyākir Qaus Quzh, Laskar Pelangi.ملخص البحثهدفان من هذا البحث هما: 1) تحديد الاختلافات عن التأشير الشخصي وجدت في رواية عساكر قوس قزح لسكينة إبراهيم و رواية أندريا هيراتا. 2) تحديد المعادلات عن التأشير الشخصي وجدت في رواية عساكر قوس قزح لسكينة إبراهيم و رواية أندريا هيراتا. و أما  موضوع البحث المستخدمة هو رواية عساكر قوس قزح لسكينة إبراهيم و رواية لاسكار بيلانجي لأندريا هيراتا. ثم استخدم الباحث طريقة مقارنة وصفية و مدخل التداولية في هذا البحث. إن الاختلاف بين التأشير الشخصي في رواية "عساكر قوس قزح" لسكينة إبراهيم و رواية "لاسكار بيلانجي" لأندريا هيراتا، بينها هي التوزيع على حسب جنسه (ذكر أو أنثى). التأشير الشخصي مقسم على أساس جنسه، و هي موجودة في اللغة العربية. كما في  اللغة الإندونيسية غير موجود. ثم الفرق الثاني هو في استخدام مصطلحات أخرى مثل Bapak، و nyonya، و ananda، و إلخ. حدّثت هذه الحالة لأنها استند إلى سياق ثقافي. أن هذه الشروط الخاصة في اللغة العربية غير موجودة. فإن الاختلاف الثالث هو شكل خاص من أشكال التأشير الشخصي الذي له معنى الاحترام ، مثل “saya”، و  anda، و beliau. وجدت هذه الحالة في اللغة الإندونيسية، و بينما في العربية غير موجودة. تأثر الاختلافات والتشابهات في أشكال مختلفة من التأشير الشخصي في روايتين، فأسباب أساسي هو من خلال السياق الثقافي و قواعد الترجمة من لغة المصدر إلى اللغة المستهدفة.كلمة الرئيسية: التداولية، التأشير الشخصي الثاني، عساكر قوس قزح، لاسكاك بيلانجيAbstractThe purpose of this research is 1) to identify the differences in the second person deixis found in Sakinah Ibrahim's AQQ novel and the novel by Andrea Hirata. 2) Identifying the second person deixic equation found in Sakinah Ibrahim's AQQ novel and the novel by Andrea Hirata. The object used by the researcher was Sakinah Ibrahim's Asyakir Qaus Quzh novel and Laskar Pelangi novel by Andrea Hirata. The method applied is a descriptive comparative method. While the approach used in this study is a pragmatic approach.The difference in the form of the second person deixis contained in the two novels, including the existence of a division based on gender aspects (male or female). Then the second difference in the use of other terms outside (you). The use of other terms, in the form of: ananda, mother, father, mistress, sir, etc. Whereas in Arabic, these special terms do not exist. Furthermore, the third difference is the second special form of person deixis that has a respectful and formal impression, like saya, anda and beliau. This case is in Indonesian, and in Arabic it doesn't exist. The difference in the variety of the second person deixis forms contained in the two novels is fundamentally influenced by the cultural context and the rules of translation from the source language to the target language.Keyword: Pragmatics, Second Person Deixis, ‘Asyākir Qaus Quzh, Laskar Pelangi.

Abstract

Konflik di Palestina-Israel menjadi perbincangan panjang dunia. Perang yang berlangsung sejak masa kekhalifahan itu terus terjadi hingga kini. Yerusalem atau Al-Quds biasa orang Arab menyebutnya sebagai kota yang indah, bukan hanya dari segi bangunannya namun juga memiliki kedudukan inti dari ketiga agama samawi, tiga simbol hidup damai dengan berdampingan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memaparkan deskripsi atau situasi kondisi Yerusalem dalam puisi Al-Quds serta mendeskripsikan makna dari simbol yang terdapat didalamnya. Metode yang digunakan ialah deskriptif analitik. Adapun teori pendekatan yang digunakan ialah teori pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce untuk menjelaskan proses semiosis segitiga tanda atau yang kita kenal sebagai triadik untuk mengetahui Representament, Object, dan Interpretant, kemudian dihubungkan dengan sejarah yang melatarbelakanginya. Hasil penelitian dalam puisi Al-Quds karya Nizar Qabbani yang terdiri dari 39 bait tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa keadaan yang tergambar dalam puisi menunjukan kondisi Yerusalem atau Al-Quds yang sedang bersedih akibat perang yang berlangsung sejak lama. Pengarang dengan gaya bahasa yang selalu mengindikasikan sebuah ratapan, seakan menggambarkan bahwa tidak ada satupun hal yang dapat ia lakukan. Nizar Qabbani banyak menggunakan kata tanya dalam puisinya guna menjadi bahan muhasabah diri bahwa apa yang harusnya kita lalukan sebagai sesama manusia kepada para pembacanya. Dan tidak hanya itu, dalam puisi pun terekam dampak buruk terjadi yang diakibatkan oleh perang itu sendiri. Long conflicts of Israel-Palestine have been an animated topic of discussion everywhere in the world. This paper aims to unveil Jerusalem's description in poetry entitled Al-Quds by Nizar Qabbani and describe the symbols' meaning. The method used is descriptive analytics. The theoretical approach used is the semiotics theory by Charles Sanders Peirce, sign triangle or triadic to find out the Representament, Object, and Interpretant, and try to connect its history. The study reveals that poetry consists of 39 stanzas depicts the dreadful situation in Jerusalem due to constant conflicts there. His language style is a multitude of laments that illustrate nothing we can do in this hopeless, desperate predicament of endless war. He uses question words in his poetry for muhasabah (self-retrospections) he believes we should do as fellow human beings. The poetry also records all the war's harmful effects, where the hope for peace settlement as a final solution seems going amiss.

Abstract

The purpose of this study  is to know the types of phrases contained in material objects  , namely nadzam Al-Manẓumah An-Nawawiyyah Wa Al-Khasā'is An-Nahḍiyyah and to know the type of mode contained in these objects. In his discussion, researchers borrowed the theory proposed by Abdul Chaer, namely the categorization of phrases into four types, including exocentric, endocentric, coordinative and apositive phrases. In addition, Abdul Chaer also divided the mode into seven types, including indicative (declarative), optative, imperative, interrogative, obligative, desiderative and conditional modes.  The method used is a descriptive qualitative method.  The results of this study describe a number of phrases and modes found in material objects, including: (1) The phrases contained in this material object are 187 with 64 endocentric types, 98 exocentric types, 22 coordinate types and 3 apositive types. (2) The modes contained in this material object are 50 with 42 declarative types, one optative type, six imperative types and one conditional type. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yang antara lain mengetahui jenis frasa yang terdapat dalam objek material yaitu nadzam Al-Manẓumah An-Nawawiyyah Wa Al-Khasā’is An-Nahḍiyyah serta mengetahui jenis modus yang terdapat dalam objek tersebut. Dalam pembahasannya peneliti meminjam teori yang dikemukakan oleh Abdul Chaer yaitu pengkategorian frasa menjadi empat jenis, antara lain frasa eksosentrik, endosentrik, koordinatif dan apositif. Selain itu Abdul Chaer juga membagi modus ke dalam tujuh jenis antara lain modus indikatif (deklaratif), optatif, imperatif, interogatif, obligatif, desideratif dan kondisional. Adapun metode yag digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini memaparkan sejumlah frasa dan modus yang tedapat pada objek material antara lain: (1) Frasa yang terdapat dalam objek material ini berjumlah 187 dengan 64 jenis endosentrik, 98 jenis eksosentrik, 22 jenis koordinatif dan 3 jenis apositif. (2) Modus yang terdapat dalam objek material ini berjumlah 50 dengan 42 jenis deklaratif, satu jenis optatif, enam jenis imperatif dan satu jenis kondisional.

Abstract

ABSTRACT                 The aim in this study is 1) to learn scheme aktan contained in the short stories of women that trick the Devils work Taufiq el-Hakim, and 2) to find out the relationship between structure and functional structure aktan in the formation of structure the story. As for the method used in this research is descriptive method with the data gathering techniques in the form of the technique note and the study of librarianship. The source of the data in this study is the short story of the woman who deceived the Devils, and the data in this study is the word or phrase contained in the short stories of women that trick the Devils. Based on research conducted there is one schema aktan and functional model structure that exists in the text or sentence short women the Devils work beguiling Taufiq el-Hakim. The relationship between structure and functional structure aktan, there is one pattern that becomes aktan scheme structures the story namely aktan scheme contained in the short stories of women that trick the Devils work Taufiq el-Hakim. Greimas. ملخص البحث والأغراض هذا البحث هو 1) لمعرفة مخطط الأكتان في قصة القصيرة إمرأة غلبت الشيطان لتوفيق الحكيم.  2) لمعرفة العلاقة بين بنية أكتان و هيكل وظيفته في تشكيل بنية القصة. استخدم هذا البحث منهجا وصفيا و ويستخدم منهج الملاحظة والتسجيل simak catat و الدراسة المكتبية وأما مصدر البيانات في هذ البحث هو قصة قصيرة "الامرأة غلبت الشيطان للتوفيق الحكيم والبيانات فيه هي  الكلمات في قصة قصيرة "الامرأة غلبت الشيطان للتوفيق الحكيم". استنتجت الباحثة ان مخطط الأكتان وتركيب وظيفي في الكلمات قصة قصيرة "الامرأة غلبت الشيطان للتوفيق الحكيم". وتوجد الباحثة نمط مخطط الأكتان في العلاقة بين هيكل الأكتان والهيكل الوظيفي  وأما تركيب القصة هو مخطط الأكتان في قصة قصيرة "الامرأة غلبت الشيطان للتوفيق الحكيم" يسبب مخطط Aktansial على وجود المناسبات الخاصة في تركيب القصة "امرأة غلبت الشيطان للتوفيق الحكيم. كلمات مفتاحية : قصيرة قصيرة " إمراة غلبت الشيطان"، مخطط الأكتان، التركيب الوظيفي، النوروتولوجي لأج غريماس. ABSTRAK Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) untuk mengetahui skema aktan yang terdapat dalam cerpen Al-Imra’at Ghalabati As-Syaiton karya Taufiq el-Hakim, dan 2) untuk mengetahui hubungan antara struktur aktan dan struktur fungsional dalam pembentukan struktur cerita. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya berupa teknik catat dan studi kepustakaan. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah cerpen Al-Imra’at Ghalabati As-Syaiton, dan data dalam penelitian ini adalah kata atau kalimat yang terdapat dalam cerpen Al-Imra’at Ghalabati As-Syaiton. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan terdapat satu skema aktan dan struktur model fungsional yang ada dalam teks atau kalimat cerpen Al-Imra’at Ghalabati As-Syaiton karya Taufiq el-Hakim. Hubungan antara struktur aktan dan struktur fungsional terdapat satu pola skema aktan yang menjadi struktur cerita yaitu skema aktan yang terdapat dalam cerpen Al-Imra’at Ghalabati As-Syaiton karya Taufiq el-Hakim. Skema aktansial ini menimbulkan adanya peristiwa-peristiwa yang menjadi struktur cerita Al-Imra’at Ghalabati As-Syaiton. Kata kunci: cerpen Al-Imra’at Ghalabati As-Syaiton, skema aktan, struktur fungsional, naratologi A.J. Abstract

The Aksara Incung is an old Kerinci script that is threatened with extinction because it is no longer known by the Kerinci community. The Kerinci script is a cultural heritage of Kerinci and a source of pride for the Kerinci community. However, with the emergence of Islamic civilization and the Dutch colonial period, many Kerinci people began to be introduced to new cultures, resulting in fewer and fewer people studying, teaching and implementing the existence of the incung script in everyday life. The objectives of the study were (1) to explain the development of the Kerinci Incung script batik motif, (2) to express ideas derived from the Kerinci Incung script in the creation of craft works of art in the form of stamped batik motifs and (3) to understand and explore the meaning contained in the Kerinci Incung script as a cultural product of the community in the past. The research method used a qualitative approach. with observation, documentation and interviews with batik craftsmen and activists. Data collection was carried out using the purposive sampling method and the research location was Kerinci Regency and Sungai Penuh City. The method of creating Incung script motifs includes three stages, namely the exploration stage, the design/motif making process stage and the realization process. The Incung script revitalization strategy in the community is one way to reintroduce and preserve the Incung script. through painting media starting from motifs on Kerinci batik, motifs on musical instruments, establishing an Incung script school, bringing up Incung on every place name, street name, office name in the Kerinci area, and teaching school children by bringing up additional subjects. So that all of this can facilitate the effort to introduce the Incung script to the community.

Abstract

This research examines the physical characteristics and textual content of the Melak Pare manuscript, a significant cultural artifact within Sundanese heritage. The research aims to enhance public understanding of this manuscript by providing a detailed description and analysis. Employing historical methodology, including heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography, this research draws on primary data from the original Melak Pare manuscript housed at the Sri Baduga Museum in Bandung, as well as secondary sources such as books, scholarly articles, and related documents. The findings show that the manuscript is written on yellowed European-style paper that has been reinforced with Japanese tissue as a preservation measure. The script used is Arabic Pegon, resembling standard Arabic script yet exhibiting distinct compositional features unique to local usage. The content consists of agricultural mantras integral to traditional Sundanese agrarian practices. These mantras incorporate ritual actions and invoke Nyimas Puhaci Sanghyang Sri, widely known as Dewi Sri, alongside prayers modeled on Islamic traditions. The manuscript thus reflects a process of cultural assimilation, illustrating the emergence of a hybrid cultural form shaped by prolonged interaction between indigenous Sundanese and Islamic influences. Abstract

This study analyzes the verbal and nonverbal structures in McDonald's Arabic advertisement “ماك أربيا من ماكدونالدز” using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. Through a descriptive analytical method with a qualitative approach, the researcher identifies paralinguistic elements to reveal McDonald's cultural adaptation strategies in the Arab market. The results of the study indicate that McDonald's implements a localization strategy through the use of standard Arabic combined with local dialects, cultural symbols such as traditional clothing, and Arab societal values. At the denotative level, the verbal structure includes local culinary terms and Arabic slogans, while the nonverbal structure depicts a happy family togetherness in an Arab environmental setting. At the connotative level, the advertisement aligns global modernity with local traditionalism, creating the perception that foreign products can integrate with Arab cultural identity without threatening local values. These findings contribute to the understanding of cross-cultural communication in global advertising and demonstrate how semiotics can reveal cultural adaptation strategies in contemporary advertising media.

Abstract

This comparative Ekranisasi study analyzes the ideological negotiation and power relations inherent in adapting Ibrāhīm ʿĪsā’s 2012 novel Mawlānā (a critique of the religion-state-media nexus) into Magdi Ahmad Ali’s 2016 film, Mawlānā: The Preacher. The novel centers on protagonist Sheikh Ḥātim's profound spiritual hypocrisy and moral crisis, yet the film shifts focus toward rapid socio-political dynamics, sacrificing the protagonist’s complex psychological depth. This research addresses the core question of whether this reduction of moral depth was dictated by cinematic necessity or an ideological compromise with political pressure and censorship. Utilizing a qualitative, interpretive methodology extending Pamusuk Eneste's structural framework, the study adds a crucial interpretive layer analyzing ideologically motivated changes. Findings confirm the film sacrificed the novel’s complex moral tragedy by drastically reducing sensitive narrative pillars (e.g., critique of elite corruption, sexual/psychological trauma). This politically driven sanitization fundamentally transformed the work into a socio-political drama. The study’s theoretical contribution is significant: the categorization of adaptational changes (reduction, addition) cannot be detached from the context of ideological production. Specifically, in sensitive political contexts, narrative reduction primarily functions as a strategy of self-censorship and political negotiation, rather than mere technical condensation.
