Abstract

Protected forest areas are areas that have the primary function of protecting life support systems to regulate water systems, prevent flooding, control erosion, prevent sea water intrusion, and maintain soil fertility. One of the protected forest areas in South Kalimantan Province is Liang Anggang Protection Forest. This forest is located in the city of Banjarbaru. The designation of the area as protected forest is as a Banjarbaru City water catchment area and is dominated by thick peat soils. Forest areas that have started to disappear due to forest fires and land clearing make this area can be said to be a forest area that is in critical condition. Unbalanced food chains make endemic animals slowly disappear. One effort to restore the region is to build an education-based ecotourism. Based on data from the SWOT analysis, it is seen in quadrant I which means that the research results are included in a very good situation because they are supported by the power factor to seize opportunities that will be useful. The development of peat swamp forest ecotourism in Liang Anggang Protected Forest Area can minimize weaknesses to overcome various problems that will be a threat to development.

Abstract

The variety of proboscis monkey habitat causes the composition of plants, the preparation of different habitats, including the type of feed and its composition. The aim of this research is to map the distribution of proboscis monkeys and inventory the proboscis monkeys. Retrieval of vegetation data is placed in an area where frequent activity of proboscis monkeys occurs. Data collection was carried out to determine tree species and undergrowth as macro habitat as well as the potential source of proboscis food that includes the leaves, buds, flowers, fruit or parts that are being eaten or already eaten. Sampling of feed tree sampling data using accidental sampling method is a method of recording accidentally or accidentally when finding proboscis probes that are eating or traces of food. The coordinates of the meeting point with the proboscis feed tree are made into the distribution map of the proboscis feed tree using GIS software. There are 9 distribution locations and 13 species of plants whose parts are eaten by proboscis monkeys in the Riparian forest of PT JBG areas such as Ficus racemosa, Hibiscus tiliaceus, Gluta renghas, Albizia chinensis, Eugenia sp, Uncaria sp, Dillenia indica, Oxyceros longifer, Syzigium sp, Calamus sp, Macaranga bancana, Premna corymbusa, Centrosema pubescens. These types are divided into two levels of vegetation, namely forage trees and undergrowth with edible parts such as shoots, leaves, flowers, fruit and umbut Habitat bekantan yang bervariasi menyebabkan komposisi jenis tumbuhan penyusunan habitat berbeda-beda, termasuk jenis pakan dan komposisinya.

Abstract

Clean water is an invaluable need for the residents of Pemangkih Tengah village. The water in the village of Pemangkih Tengah is actually blackish in color, because the area of this village is located in a location with peaty soil and acid soil. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to have a water purification device using materials that are easily available. Materials that are easily available include rice husks, sand, gravel and palm fibers. The goal is that people are more enthusiastic about making their own, because the materials used are around them. Moreover, part of the village land is planted with rice, so that the husks produced from the rice grinder can be used for natural water purification. In contrast to water purification using chemical techniques, natural techniques are preferred by the community because the costs incurred to make tools are cheaper. From the results of the purification that has been carried out, it is clear that there is a difference in the level of water clarity before and after it is done.

Abstract

Artain is a village located opposite the Riam Kanan reservoir in Aranio District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. There are various types of habitat in the Village, from the edge of a reservoir to primary forest which is thought to be home to various birds species, which over time has the potential to degrade or change due to human activity which then reduces its quality and function as habitat for many birds species. It is necessary to research the diversity and evenness of birds in each habitat type in Artain, so that the existence of various bird species can be known. The research was conducted from May to June 2020, the method used in the study was the cruising circumference point, which is determining the observation point and its radius and then making observations by exploring the observation path continue. The results showed that there were 9 types of bird's habitat in Artain, they are Settlements, Periphery Reservoirs, Shrubs, Mixed Gardens, Rubber Gardens, Reeds, Fields, Secondary Forests, and Primary Forests. The lowest diversity value (H' = 1.25) was identified in field habitats and the highest (H' = 3.17) in scrub habitats, meaning that the level of diversity in all habitats was classified as moderate. The lowest evenness value in secondary forest habitats (E = 0.80) and the highest is mixed garden habitats and rubber gardens (E = 0.97), which means that evenness in each habitat is in the high category.
