Abstract

The community empowerment activities of the Community Science and Technology Program are specifically aimed at enhancing the knowledge of the residents, especially the housewives of Bankirin Raya Village, Banua Lawas District, Tabalong District. Meatballs and nuggets are a commodity and easy to make. This empowerment activity encourages communities to start new businesses based on catfish exploitation to increase income for the surrounding communities. Methods used include socialization and counseling, and training. , production management development, program discussion and evaluation. This activity took place in a resident home with 20 participants. Many participants participated in this activity. During the activity, all participants were very enthusiastic to participate in training and coaching. Materials were provided to participants on how to process catfish into economically valuable products. The participant also received online her marketing and financial management guidance and training on starting a new business to improve the participant's skills and knowledge.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze land suitability in reclamation and revegetation sites for sengon, trembesi, mahogany and acacia plants. Research was conducted in November 2022 at PT Adaro Indonesia Site Tanjung, South Kalimantan Province. Data collection was in the form of analysis of soil quality in the reclamation areas of Wara 1, Wara 2, Wara 3 and Wara 4 and data on land characteristics as a condition for growing sengon, acacia, trembesi and mahogany plants, then a matching method was carried out to obtain land suitability for these plant types. The results showed that the actual land suitability for sengon plants in the entire study area was incompatible with the inhibiting factors for nutrient retention and quite compatible with the inhibiting factors for water availability (S3nr.S2wa) and the potential land suitability was S2nr. Land suitability for acacia plants in all study areas found land that was not suitable for nutrient retention inhibiting factors (S3nr) and potential land suitability was S2nr. Land suitability for trembesi plants in Wara 1 and Wara 2 obtained land yields that were not in accordance with the nutrient retention inhibiting factor (S3nr) and S2nr potential land suitability, while in the Wara 3 and Wara 4 areas suitable land yields were obtained without any limiting factors. Land suitability for mahogany plants in all study areas found land that was not suitable for the limiting factor of nutrient retention and quite suitable for the limiting factor for water availability (S3nr.S2wa).

Abstract

Estimating carbon stock in tropical rainforests is an important indicator of environmental health, and increasingly important in the era of climate change mitigation. In this study, we used Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) classification on Sentinel-2 MSI imagery to estimate carbon reserves in the tropical rainforest of the Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK) of Lambung Mangkurat University. Sentinel 2 MSI satellite imagery was used to obtain information on NDVI values and land cover, while NDVI classification was used to connect this information with field data on carbon reserve calculations. The results of the study based on NDVI classification values in KHDTK varied between 0.0716 and 0.83424, consisting of five land cover classes: open land, shrubs, plantations or young secondary forests, intermediate secondary forests, and mature secondary forests. The carbon stock was obtained from 47% of the biomass calculated using existing allometric equations, with biomass measurements taken on trees with a diameter of 10 centimeters or more. The five land cover classes classified yielded a carbon stock of 6.05 tons/ha for open land, 13.40 tons/ha for shrubs, 21.04 tons/ha for young secondary forests, 39.56 tons/ha for intermediate secondary forests, and an estimated carbon reserve size of 49.44 tons/ha for mature secondary forestsEstimasi cadangan karbon pada hutan hujan tropis merupakan salah satu indikator penting dalam mengukur kesehatan ligkungan dan semakin penting dalam era mitigasi perubahan iklim. Dalam penelitian ini, menggunakan klasifikasi Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) pada citra Sentinel-2 MSI untuk mengestimasikan cadangan karbon pada hutan hujan tropis di Kawasan Hutan Dengan Tujuan Khusus (KHDTK) Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Citra satellite Sentinel 2 MSI digunakan untuk mendapatkan informasi nilai NDVI dan tutupan lahan, sedangkan klasifikasi NDVI digunakan untuk menghubungkan informasi tersebut dengan data lapangan perhitungan cadangan karbon. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan klasifikasi nilai Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) di KHDTK memiliki nilai bervariasi antara 0.0716 hingga 0.83424, terdiri dari lima kelas tutupan lahan yaitu lahan terbuka, semak, perkebunan atau hutan sekunder muda, hutan sekunder sedang dan hutan sekunder tua. Besar cadangan karbon diperoleh dari 47 % biomassa yang dihitung dengan persamaan allometric yang sudah ada, pengukuran biomassa dilakukan pada diameter pohon 10 centimeter ke atas. Lima kelas tutupan lahan yang diklasifikasi diperoleh besar cadangan karbon untuk lahan terbuka 6.05 ton/ha, semak 13.40 ton/ha, Hutan sekunder muda 21.04 ton/ha, hutan sekunder sedang 39.56 ton/ha dan estimasi cadangan karbon hutan sekunder tua sebesar 49.44 ton/ha.

Abstract

Indonesia is an example of a country with the largest type of mangrove forest ecosystem and has abundant wealth. One of the forests with this type of mangrove ecosystem in South Kalimantan is in the Bakut Island Natural Tourism Park area. The Bakut Island TWA itself is a residential place for a typical Kalimantan primate, namely the Proboscis Monkey (Nasalis Larvatus). Knowing information about ecological aspects related to the structure (shape) and composition (arrangement) of vegetation in this area is the first step in managing and preserving mangrove forest areas. In this research process the researchers intended to anaIyze the structure and composition of the mangrove forest vegetation types and calculate the species diversity index in the Bakut Island Nature Park area. Data was collected using a combination method, namely a combination method between the path method and the checkered Iine method which was carried out intentionally (purposive sampling). The data were then analyzed in several calculations to find the lmportance VaIue lndex and Species Diversity lndex. In the results of this study there were 22 plant species divided at several growth stages, namely seedlings, saplings, poles and trees. As for the diversity index of the types of values obtained at all levels of growth, it is included in the low diversity categoryIndonesia adalah satu contoh negara dengan tipe ekosistem hutan mangrove terbesar serta memiliki kekayaan yang melimpah.  Salah satu hutan dengan tipe ekosistem mangrove di Kalimantan Selatan ada di kawasan Taman Wisata Alam Pulau Bakut. TWA pulau bakut sendiri merupakan tempat hunian bagi satwa primata khas Kalimantan yaitu Bekantan (Nasalis Larvatus). Mengetahui informasi mengenai aspek ekologis terkait struktur (bentuk) dan komposisi (susunan) vegetasi yang ada di kawasan ini merupakan langkah awal dalam melakukan pengelolaan dan pelestarian kawasan hutan mangrove. Pada proses penelitian ini peneliti bermaksud untuk menganalisis struktur serta komposisi jenis vegetasi hutan mangrove dan menghitung indeks keragaman jenis di kawasan Taman Wisata Alam Pulau Bakut. Data diambil dengan metode kombinasi yaitu metode gabungan antara metode jaIur dan metode garis berpetak yang dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive sampling). Data kemudian dianalisis pada beberapa perhitungan untuk mencari lndeks NiIai Penting dan lndeks Keanekaragaman Jenis.  Pada hasiI peneIitian ini terdapat 22 jenis tumbuhan yang terbagi pada beberapa tingkat tunbuh yaitu semai, pancang, tiang dan pohon. Sedangkan untuk lndeks Keragaman jenis nilai yang di dapat pada semua tingkat pertumbuhan termasuk dalam kategori keanekaragaman rendah.

Abstract

Kelompok Tani Harapan Maju Desa Kiram membudidayakan lebah madu kelulut sejak tahun 2020, namun dalam perjalanannya banyak menemui kendala antara lain (1) Toping banyak berjamur, kurang terjaga kebersihannya,sehingga lebah madu kelulut kurang produktif, lebah enggan membuat bejana atau kantong madu dalam toping (2) koloni lebah melarikan diri dari stup.  Terkait hal tersebut maka tim pengabdi ULM melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian berupa (1) bimbingan teknis budidaya lebah madu kelulut terutama tentang pemeliharaan stup lebah madu kelulut, hama penyakit yang menyerang sarang lebah madu kelulut (2) bimbingan teknis pembuatan demplot tanaman pakan lebah madu kelulut. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan meliputi kegiatan sosialisasi atau penyuluhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Selama pelatihan, tim pengabdi diterima dengan baik oleh aparat desa dan mitra serta mereka sangat antusias untuk mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian ini. Kegiatan sosialisasi dilakukan tim pengabdi bersama mahasiswa fakultas Kehutanan ULM dan berjalan dengan baik. Pelatihan yang diberikan kepada mitra meliputi budidaya lebah madu kelulut yaitu manajemen budidaya lebah madu kelulut. Dari hasil kegiatan pengabdian terdapat masalah yaitu koloni lebah, lebah yang tidak berkembang karena terserang jamur, jarak stup kelulut yang terlalu rapat sehingga antar koloni terjadi persaingan, jarak stup dari tanah yang terlalu tinggi sehingga menyulitkan pemanenen madu. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, tim pengabdi melakukan sosialisasi dan pelatihan mengenai pemecahan koloni lebah kelulut serta perawatan agar koloni berkembang dengan baik dan cara penanaman tanaman pakan. Selain itu, tim juga memberikan motivasi agar semangat dalam membudidayakan lebah madu kelulut.

Abstract

West Kotawaringin Regency has a variety of strategic and potential tourist objects to be managed and developed. The aims of this study were 1. To identify the attractions of natural tourism objects in Tanjung Keluang Nature Park and Kubu Beach, and 2. To assess the tourism potential of Tanjung Keluang Nature Park and Kubu Beach. The method used in this study is a quantitative method of survey techniques and field observations. The results show that the tourist attractions owned by the Tanjung Keluang Nature Park are beach tourism, turtle breeding, diversity of flora and fauna, and camping areas, while the tourist attractions of Kubu Beach are beaches and culinary tours. The internal potential of Tanjung Keluang Nature Park includes a high classification (score 13), the external potential is a moderate classification (score 17) and the combined potential is a moderate classification (score 30). The internal potential of Kubu Beach is a moderate classification (score of 9), the external potential is a classification high (score of 19), and the combined potential is a moderate classification (score of 28). The internal potential of Tanjung Keluang Nature Park is superior because the area is conservation and beauty, so nature is still maintained and as well as there is a turtle hatchery that can attract visitors, but facilities available for these tourist objects are limited, in contrast to Kubu Beach which has more complete facilities such as toilets, places of worship, parking lots, and food and beverage stalls, so that the external potential of Kubu Beach is highestKabupaten Kotawaringin Barat memiliki beragam objek wisata yang strategis dan potensial untuk dikelola dan dikembangkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1. Identifikasi atraksi objek wisata alam yang terdapat pada Taman Wisata Alam Tanjung Keluang dan Pantai Kubu serta 2. Penilaian potensi objek wisata Taman Wisata Alam Tanjung Keluang dan Pantai Kubu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif teknik survei, dan observasi lapangan. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa atraksi wisata yang dimiliki Taman Wisata Alam Tanjung Keluang berupa wisata pantai, penangkaran penyu, keragaman flora dan fauna, serta camping area, sedangkan atraksi wisata Pantai Kubu berupa pantai, dan wisata kuliner.  Potensi internal Taman Wisata Alam Tanjung Keluang termasuk klasifikasi tinggi (skor 13), potensi eksternal termasuk klasifikasi sedang (skor 17) dan potensi gabungan termasuk klasifikasi sedang (skor 30. Potensi internal Pantai Kubu termasuk klasifikasi sedang (skor 9), potensi eksternal termasuk klasifikasi tinggi (skor 19) dan potensi gabungan termasuk klasifikasi sedang (skor 28). Potensi internal Taman Wisata Alam Tanjung Keluang lebih unggul karena kawasan tersebut merupakan kawasan konservasi sehingga keasrian alam masih terjaga serta terdapat penangkaran penyu yang dapat menarik minat pengunjung, namun fasilitas yang tersedia pada objek wisata tersebut masih terbatas berbeda dengan Pantai Kubu yang memiliki fasilitas lebih lengkap seperti toilet, tempat ibadah, tempat parkir, dan warung makanan dan minuman, sehingga potensi eksternal Pantai Kubu lebih tinggi
