Abstract

Abstract Pondok Pesantren is an Islamic school that focuses on Islamic religious education, especially Al-Quran education. Drinking water that is healthy and fit for consumption will be an essential factor in increasing the concentration and ability of the students in understanding the knowledge. This service program aims to provide a drinking water treatment technology with a multilevel filtration method that will produce healthy and potable water for students and boarding school administrators. The products from this project are drinking water treatment technology and drinking water that is healthy and fit for consumption for students and boarding school administrators. The existence of drinking water technology supposed to generate additional income for the boarding school. Abstrak Pondok Pesantren adalah sekolah islam yang berfokus pada pendidikan agama Islam khususnya pendidikan Al Qur’an. Air minum yang sehat dan layak dikonsumsi akan menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam meningkatkan konsentrasi dan kemampuan santri dalam memahami ilmu yang diajarkan. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan suatu teknologi pengolahan air minum dengan metode filtrasi bertingkat yang akan menghasilkan air yang sehat dan layak minum bagi santri dan para pengurus pondok pesantren. Produk yang dihasilkan dari pengabdian ini ialah teknologi pengolahan air minum serta air minum yang sehat dan layak dikonsumsi bagi santri dan pengurus pondok pesantren.Adanya pengolahan air minum ini juga diharapkan dapat menghasilkan tambahan income bagi pondok pesantren.

Abstract

The rise of the batik industry in Jambi Province causes the accumulation of waste in the environment. Disposal of batik dye wastewater directly into the environment is one source of heavy metals entering the river. Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA), as a part of waste originating from combustion residues of oil palm, is potential to be used as a low-cost adsorbent in overcoming the batik dye wastewater problem. The POFA is also potential to be used in the removal of heavy metals and chemical and organic compounds in industrial waste treatment. This paper reported the potential use of POFA and the modification of POFA as batik dye adsorbents in overcoming waste problems from the batik industry. Results of this study showed that POFA could adsorb the dye in batik waste with up to 22% removal efficiency and adsorption capacity up to 62 mg/g. The isotherm adsorption in this study was in accordance with the Freundlich model that showed adsorption occurred at multi-layer and heterogeneous surfaces. The adsorption process occurred endothermically and spontaneously.

Abstract

Soybean is one of crop which many conducting in Jambi province, where this area is one of sentra soybean producer in Indonesia. Main constraint in expansion of soybean in Jambi province is ability of adaptation of low crop to condition of area that is partly are consisted of area of marjinal with level of low fertility , applies strains or cultivar indication by drought tolerance to earn is one of the solutions forplies strains or cultivar indication by drought tolerant to earn is one of alternative of trouble-shooting. Examination of soybean cultivar tolerance to stres drought at vegetative to generative phase (15 - 45 Day After Plants / DAP) done in glasshouse by using Split Plout Design. Treatment of stres drought as main check and soybean cultivar as child of check. From result of observation, treatment of stres dryness at vegetative phase and generative can reduce and pursues growth and result of soybean cultivar tested. But for soybean cultivar Derap-1, Dena-2, Deja-2, Dering-1, Grobogan, Detam-1 and Dega-1, treatment of stres drought exactly causes improvement of root length to range from 7,14 - 60,57%. Based on variable dry weigh seed,seven soybean cultivars tested canot be classified in group of tolerant and tolerant medium to stres drought at vegetative to generative phase that is var. Argo Mulyo, Dena-1, Derap-1, Dena-2, Deja-2, Dering-1, Grobogan dan Detam-1. Stres drought causes improvement can of leaf prthe mechanism of soybean tolerance to stres drought can improve root length as mechanism of tolerance in morphology and or improveprovement of root length as mechanism of tolerance in morphology and or through improvement of proline content as mechanism of tolerance physiologically

Abstract

Batanghari River is the primary source of water for the people of Jambi. Batanghari River’s condition nowadays is worrying because its color is no longer clear. This research focused on determining the content of heavy metals in the Batanghari River's water and sediment. The conducted analysis is an ICP-MS analysis to determine the level of heavy metal (Cu, Cr, Co, Cd, Hg), and an enrichment factor calculation is conducted to determine the source of pollution. The enrichment factor value from the Batanghari River sediment sample declined with the following sequence Cd>Hg>Cu>Cr>Co, in 10 pinpoint locations. These indicate a high degree of anthropogenic activities along the Batanghari River which become the source of heavy metals entering the Batanghari River. The average concentration of heavy metals in the Batanghari River showed that the metal concentrations of Cd, Cu, and Hg are higher than the quality standards that have been set, whereas the metal concentrations of Cr and Co are still by the quality standards that have been set in PP 22 the year 2021.

Abstract

Mining, particularly gold mining, is a lucrative industry. However, it poses significant environmental risks, such as releasing heavy metal elements into the soil and water. After gold mines are exhausted, whether they are small or large scale, the excavated sites often need to be repaired. This situation has led to a global concern regarding the presence of heavy metals from mining activities, which are known to be carcinogenic and harmful to living organisms. The concentration of heavy metals in these areas often surpasses safety limits, necessitating advanced treatment methods for their removal, especially lead (Pb) compounds from gold mining waste. One effective treatment method is the adsorption process. This study examined POFA's inherent capacity to remove lead from water contaminated by gold mining without modification. This method was preferred due to its high efficiency and cost-effective option for removing heavy metal compounds. According to the experiment's results, the largest adsorption capacity of 0.816 mg/g was followed by the greatest removal efficiency of 91.837%. The isotherm analysis found that the Langmuir model provided an outstanding fit for the experimental data. Thus, this relationship suggested that on the surface of the POFA, a monolayer and an adsorption process suitable for physical adsorption took place.

Abstract

Every plant rhizospheres in any ecosystem there are various living microorganisms including Arbuscular Mycorrhizae Fungi (AMF). An isolation and characterization is required to investigate the species or type of the AMF. This research was aimed at studying the isolation and characterization of AMF sporulation in soybean rhizospheres in Jambi Province. The results of evaluation on soil samples before trapping showed that there are spores from three genus of AMF twelve types Glomus , two types Acaulospora and one type of Enthrophospora. Following single spore culture in soybean rhizosphere, 5 spore types were obtained: Glomus sp-1, Glomus sp-4, Glomus sp-7, Glomus sp-8 Glomus sp-10.

Abstract

Soybeans are one of the important food crop commodities in Indonesia and have strategic value because they are able to supply the nutritional needs of the community and as a source of income for farmers. One of the causes of low edamame soybean cultivation is low production caused by the presence of weeds in the cultivation area. The aim of this research is to find out how effective the use of rice straw mulch and weed control is to increase the growth and yield of edamame soybean plants. A factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) was used for this research. The first factor in RAK is the weed control time with three levels, namely p0 = no control, p1 = 2x control (18 DAP and 36 DAP), and p2 = 1x control (32 DAP). The second factor is the use of straw mulch with three levels, namely m0= no mulch, m1= 5 tons/ha of straw mulch, and m2= 10 tons/ha of straw mulch. Observed variables included plant height, flowering age, number of primary branches per plant, number of pods per plant, and fresh pod weight. The research results show that using five tons of mulch per ha and controlling weeds once can increase the yield and growth of edamame soybeans while reducing weed growth. Kata Kunci: Pengendalian Gulma, Kedelai Edamame, Mulsa Jerami

Abstract

Air limbah dari usaha batik terlalu keruh dan mengandung terlalu banyak zat warna untuk dibuang ke lingkungan. Kandugan zat warna dari limbah batik berada diatas ambang batas sehingga tidak bisa langsung dibuang ke lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan membran karbon sintetik untuk mendegradasi warna dan kekeruhan pada air limbah proses batik. Membran karbon alami yang dibuat tidak mahal. Setelah itu, membran dipasang pada peralatan dan melewati tiga siklus pemrosesan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menambahkan lebih banyak siklus pemrosesan dapat merejeksi kekeruhan dan warna masing-masing sebanyak 88,27% dan 71,79%. Secara keseluruhan, produksi membran karbon dan penggunaannya menawarkan metode pengganti yang murah, sederhana, dan efektif untuk menangani limbah batik.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan mengimplementasikan teknologi tepat guna berupa Rotary Eco-Composter dalam pengelolaan sampah organik di RT 10 Kelurahan Tahtul Yaman, Kecamatan Pelayangan, Kota Jambi. Untuk melaksanakan program ini, observasi, perencanaan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan kepada masyarakat setempat diperlukan. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat lebih memahami pentingnya mengelola sampah organik dan belajar cara mengoperasikan dan merawat mesin pengompos Rotary Eco-Composter. Selain itu, teknologi ini berhasil menghasilkan pupuk kompos yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas tanah dan mengurangi jumlah sampah organik yang dibuang ke tempat pembuangan akhir (TPA). Pupuk yang dihasilkan juga terbukti meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman, dengan uji coba pada tanaman mentimun yang mengalami pertumbuhan terbaik. Dengan menggunakan teknologi Rotary Eco-Composter, diharapkan pengelolaan sampah akan menjadi lebih berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Kelompok usaha Wanita menjadi salah satu bentuk usaha bersama anggota masyarakat di Indonesia yang terus dikembangkan oleh pemerintah dalam rangka untuk meningkatkan ekonomi rakyat. Filosofi gotong royong menjadi dasar bentuk usaha ini yang sesuai dengan jiwa dan karakter masyarakat Indonesia. Kelompok usaha Wanita di Indonesia baik dari sisi jumlah maupun kualitas dan perkembangan usaha terus meningkat, walaupun tidak dapat dipungkiri jumlah yang tutup usaha dan tidak aktif juga tidak sedikit. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah dari sisi lemahnya manajemen usaha dan pengelolaan keuangan, sehingga terkadang terjebak dengan permasalahan pinjaman dengan rentenir. Pengelolaan keuangan keluarga anggota yang masih belum tertib sehingga modal usaha masih sering terpakai untuk kebutuhan keluarga. Manajemen usaha dan pengelolaan keuangan yang tertib sangat diperlukan sehingga keberlangsungan usaha dapat dipantau dan bisa digunakan sebagai salah satu dasar pengambilan keputusan untuk rencana pengembangan usaha. Pemanfaatan pekarangan rumah juga perlu ditingkatkan untuk tambahan sumber pendapatan keluarga anggota. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PPM) dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan manajemen usaha dan pengelolaan keuangan usaha, diskusi strategi pengelolaan keuangan keluarga yang efisien dan efektif dan pemanfaatan informasi keuangan untuk rencana pengembangan usaha serta pelatihan pemanfaatan pekarangan rumah sebagai sumber pendapatan keluarga. Seluruh peserta sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan. Hal ini terbukti dari diskusi dan banyaknya pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh anggota kelompok. Anggota dan calon anggota kelompok sangat berharap kegiatan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bagi wanita terus dapat dilakukan pada masa yang akan datang.
