Abstract

Indonesia boasts a number of tofu processing facilities totaling, around 84,000 both scale and large scale operations. These facilities collectively consume 2.56 million tons of soybeans each year. The high volume of tofu production poses a threat to the environment due to the generation of waste. If this waste is directly released into water bodies it can alter the waters characteristics potentially harming life. To address this issue Tofu Industry Wastewater can be implemented by introducing probiotics containing microorganisms that aid in breaking down matter and other components in the waste. This study focuses on analyzing bacterial colonies in Tofu Industry Wastewater by examining bacterial colonies present in these products. Various mixtures of Tofu Industry Wastewater and commercial probiotics will be tested at ratios of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4 over time periods ranging from 24, 48, 72, 96, 120, and 144 hours. The findings indicate that incorporating probiotics into Tofu Industry Wastewater can lead to a reduction in pollution levels.

Abstract

The Colo Timur Irrigation Area covers 20,601.80 hectares with a main canal length of 64.15 km, passing through the regencies of Sukoharjo, Karanganyar, Sragen, and Ngawi. The water flow comes from the Wonogiri Serbaguna Dam, which is dammed by the Colo Weir in Sukoharjo. This irrigation area faces issues with uneven water distribution, and there is a need to check the water irrigation from the intake gates to conclude whether the operation and maintenance of the irrigation network are in accordance with standards. The study was conducted on the secondary canals of Geneng, Pulosari, and Krikilan, which are located upstream, midstream, and downstream, respectively. On the Geneng secondary canal, measurements were taken at B CT 5, Ge 1, and Ge 8 Ka. On the Pulosari secondary canal, measurements were taken at B CT 29, BPo 1, BPo 12 Ka, and BPo 12 Ki. On the Krikilan secondary canal, measurements were taken at B CT 40, Kk 1 Ka, and Kk 1 Ki. This study uses the Ratio of Water Distribution Implementation (RWDI) to determine the category of water distribution. The water discharge from the intake gates does not match the allocated water discharge. Factors causing the discrepancy in water discharge include (a) intake gates not being opened according to plan, (b) the presence of water pumps in the canals reducing irrigation water, and (c) the field operation system implementing water distribution rotations.

Abstract

The analysis of water irrigation loss is very importance, as the loss of water in irrigation canals may have a detrimental impact on the overall performance of the irrigation system. The occurrence of water loss can be attributed to a multitude of factors, including damage to the channel, evaporation, seepage, and other phenomena that diminish the usability of the water in question. Consequently, an analysis of water loss can assist in determining the quantity of water lost, as well as the factors that contribute to the occurrence of water loss. This enables the implementation of preventive and corrective measures to enhance the efficiency of water usage. The objective of this study is to ascertain the value of water loss in the secondary channel of the East Colo Irrigation Area. The research methodology entails direct field measurement of water irrigation loss. The results demonstrate that the average value of the percentage of water loss from the Geneng Secondary channel is 11.07%, with a maximum water loss percentage of 23.66% and a minimum water loss percentage of 2.84%. In the Pulosari Secondary channel, the average value of the percentage of water loss is 13.82%. In the Krikilan Secondary channel, the maximum water loss percentage was observed to be 18.38%, while the minimum is 9.36%. The average value of the percentage of water loss was found to be 22.81%, with a maximum of 26.01% and a minimum of 19.22%. The factors that cause water loss obtained an average percentage value of water loss due to evaporation of 0.22% in the Geneng Secondary channel, 0.04% in the Pulosari Secondary channel, and 0.01% in the Krikilan Secondary channel. For the average percentage value of water loss due to seepage of 0.001% in the Geneng Secondary channel, 0.0001% in the Pulosari Secondary channel and Krikilan Secondary channel.

Abstract

Household sewage treatment in Surakarta City depends on the performance of the available domestic wastewater treatment plants (IPAL), including Pucangsawit IPAL, Semanggi IPAL, Mojosongo IPAL, and UNS IPAL. Each of these IPAL’s serves a specific area, such as the UNS IPAL which serves the UNS area and its surroundings, the Mojosongo IPAL which is in charge of the North Area of Surakarta, the Semanggi IPAL which takes care of the South Area of Surakarta, and the Pucangsawit IPAL which serves the Central Area of Surakarta City. This research aimed at the effectiveness of the performance and development plan of each IPAL in the next 20 years. This research used descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. Qualitative descriptive analysis was conducted by observing the existing condition of IPAL Komunal in the research location. Quantitative descriptive analysis in this study was carried out by testing samples at the inlet, aeration, and outlet points of the IPAL. Based on the quality standards of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation number P 68 of 2016, each IPAL. UNS IPAL is 47.27% for BOD, 73.81% for COD, 76.36% for TSS. Mojosongo IPAL is 88.71% for BOD, 76.50% for COD, 78.57% for TSS. Pucangsawit IPAL was 91.88% for BOD, 83.20% for COD, 74.82% for TSS. Semanggi IPAL is 20.45% for BOD, 69.95% for COD, 69.05% for TSS. Alternative development at the IPAL that can be done to prepare for the next 20 years is to increase the volume in the initial settling basin, aerobic biofilter basin, and also the final settling basin.

Abstract

In Cirebon, there are a lot of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the creative sector, however there is still generally not much management of intellectual property rights. The first issue raised by this study is the significance of intellectual property rights protection for small and medium-sized businesses in Cirebon's creative sector. Second, what part does the local government of Cirebon play in offering small and medium-sized businesses in the city the legal protection of their intellectual property rights? Using primary data, this study employs a juridical-empirical methodology. The study's findings indicate that, first, there is a tendency for the market for works produced in the creative industry to expand. This is because, in Cirebon, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for 59% of GDP, and protecting intellectual property rights (IPR) for creative economy products is crucial to preserving the economic rights of original creators. Second, creating a website that offers IPR services is currently the role that local governments play in protecting SMEs' intellectual property rights.
