Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) merupakan bagian dari Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yang bertujuan untuk memberikan kontribusi nyata melalui implementasi keilmuan kepada masyarakat. Program PKM ini dilaksanakan di Kampung Tua Teluk Mata Ikan, Kecamatan Nongsa, Kota Batam, yang menghadapi permasalahan keterbatasan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan air, minimnya sistem drainase, serta ancaman pencemaran dan intrusi air laut. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi, penyuluhan, serta pelatihan teknis mengenai pengelolaan air berbasis teknologi sederhana tepat guna berupa sumur resapan dan lubang biopori. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei awal, pemetaan masalah, diskusi partisipatif, sosialisasi, serta pelatihan praktik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pemahaman masyarakat terkait hubungan antara pengelolaan air, kualitas air tanah, kesehatan, dan sanitasi lingkungan. Masyarakat menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dalam mempelajari teknis pembangunan konstruksi teknologi sederhana sumur resapan dan lubang biopori, serta mulai menginisiasi terbentuknya kelompok masyarakat untuk menerapkan konstruksi tersebut di fasilitas umum warga. Pendampingan lebih lanjut nantinya akan tetap diperlukan ketika praktek pelaksanaan pembangunan konstruksi akan dilakukan. Hal ini menegaskan pentingnya keberlanjutan program edukasi dan pendampingan, dengan sinergi antara perguruan tinggi dan masyarakat guna menjaga kualitas lingkungan pesisir, meningkatkan sanitasi, serta mencegah potensi bencana geologis.

Abstract

In the construction sector, the Construction Safety Management System (SMKK) has been determined by the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works No. 10 of 2021 as a reference for addressing the risk of industrial accidents and improving building safety. Full implementation of occupational safety (K3) can minimize the risk of work accidents. However, in reality, there are still many obstacles for companies and employees, and many accidents in the workplace are caused by unsafe behavior factors by the workers themselves. The methodology used in this study involves various approaches, such as literature review and primary data acquisition through questionnaires targeting respondents in construction project environments. The collected data will be analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling method to identify important variables. Data processing was performed using the Smart-PLS version 4.1.0.1 application to determine the outer and inner models. Hypothesis testing was conducted using bootstrapping, considering the Original Sample values, T-statistics, and P-values. Based on the results, it is concluded that safety leadership has a significant indirect influence on improving safety performance. The strengthening of leadership aspects has the largest impact on improving safety culture, which then influences the improvement of construction safety performance, with an original sample (O) value of 0.273, a sample mean (M) of 0.277, a standard deviation (STDEV) of 0.177, a T-statistic value of 2.324, and a P-value of 0.001. Furthermore, effective safety evaluation (e.g., constructive and systematic evaluation) can help build a stronger safety culture, which in turn will improve overall safety performance. The implementation of innovation in construction processes or safety technology can also encourage better safety behavior among workers, which then contributes to improved safety performance.

Abstract

Penerapan teknologi tepat guna pengolahan limbah kelapa muda sebagai media pupuk organik kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Bangka, merupakan kegiatan pengabdian dosen dan mahasiswa dengan melibatkan mitra, yaitu masyarakat yang peduli akan lingkungan dan aktif dalam pengembangan dan budidaya kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Bangka. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah sulitnya mendapatkan pupuk yang disebabkan karena mahalnya harga pupuk anorganik dipasaran dan berdampak pada pengurangan hasil panen buah sawit. Selain itu, limbah kelapa muda jumlahnya sangat besar, apalagi dikala bulan puasa. Ini menjadi masalah tersendiri karena berpotensi menyebabkan terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan dan menjadi sarang penyakit. Limbah kelamud ternyata bisa digunakan menjadi bahan baku pembuatan pupuk organik bagi tanaman kelapa sawit. Saat ini proses pengolahan limbah kelamut masih dilakukan dengan cara manual menggunakan parang. Untuk dapat memecahkan masalah Mitra tersebut, maka kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan berupa pemberian bantuan penerapan TTG dalam pengolahan limbah kelamud serta pemberian pelatihan berupa cara pengoperasian dan perawatan mesin pengolah limbah kelamud dalam bentuk ceramah, diskusi, praktek dan introduksi mesin pencacah limbah kelamud untuk dijadikan bahan baku pupuk organik. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini nantinya diharapkan mitra mampu membuat pupuk organik dengan memanfaatkan limbah kelamud dan juga dapat mengurangi limbah kelamud yang tidak bermanfaat yang dapat menimbulkan berbagai penyakit. Hasil dari kegiatan ini mampu membantu IKM mengatasi persoalan pengolahan limbah kelamud menjadi lebih cepat dan efektif dengan kapasitasnya 201,04 Kg/jam sehingga mempercepat Proses pembuatan pupuk organik bagi tanaman kelapa sawit.

Abstract

Bidara fruit (Ziziphus mauritiana) is known to contain various bioactive phytochemicals, including phenolic acid, ascorbic acid, saponins, terpenoids, flavonoids, and tannins, making it highly promising for development into functional beverage products. Several studies state that fermentation with probiotic bacteria can improve the functional properties of products. This research aims to optimize the fermentation process of bidara fruit juice with Lactobacillus plantarum InaCC B616 using Response Surface Methodology and determine the effect of fermentation time on the content of bioactive compounds such as total phenols, total flavonoids, antioxidant capacity, and inhibition of the α-glucosidase enzyme. Optimization of fermentation was carried out using a Central composite design with 13 experimental samples and test data using Design Expert® 13 software, the optimization of fermentation time was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment groups and three replications per group, including a negative control treatment: no fermentation (F0), fermentation for 12 hours (F1), fermentation for 24 hours (F2), and fermentation for 48 hours (F3). The research results showed that 18.61% bidara fruit juice and 0.34% skim milk was the optimum formula for fermenting bidara fruit juice. The best fermentation duration was in the F3 group (fermentation for 48 hours), in this group the bacterial growth reached 3.1x109 cfu/mL with a total phenolic compound content of 81.80 mg GAE/mL, total flavonoids 2.81 mg QE/g, capacity antioxidant 99.28 µg AAE/mL, and inhibition of the α-glucosidase enzyme 87.42%. The fermentation of bidara fruit juice with Lactobacillus plantarum InaCC B616 has the potential to enhance total phenol content, total flavonoids, antioxidant capacity, and α-glucosidase enzyme inhibition, making it a promising candidate for probiotic beverages. This drink could be developed as an alternative treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus due to its inhibitory activity against the α-glucosidase enzyme.

Abstract

Kota Batam, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau, telah menunjukkan laju pertumbuhan demografis dan kebutuhan hunian yang signifikan. Berdasarkan Sensus Penduduk 2020, jumlah penduduk Batam mencapai sekitar 1.196.396 jiwa, dan estimasi pertumbuhan populasi hingga pertengahan 2024 meningkat menjadi sekitar 1,29 juta jiwa. Persentase penduduk yang berada dalam usia produktif (15-64 tahun) mencapai sekitar 70,31%, mencerminkan potensi bonus demografi yang besar di wilayah tersebut. Kebutuhan hunian vertikal seperti apartemen menjadi semakin mendesak akibat beberapa faktor: migrasi ke Batam untuk pekerjaan industri, ketersediaan lahan yang terbatas, dan pengaruh perkembangan ekonomi Singapura yang meningkatkan permintaan residensial di daerah sekitarnya. Sementara persentase penduduk miskin di Batam pada Maret 2022 adalah 5,19%, yang meskipun relatif rendah dibanding beberapa wilayah lain, tetap menunjukkan adanya lapisan masyarakat yang memiliki keterbatasan daya beli hunian. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menganalisis efisiensi biaya dan waktu pelaksanaan pekerjaan pelat lantai beton pada Gedung Baloi Apartement dengan menerapkan metode Half Slab (precast) dibandingkan metode cast in situ (konvensional). Dengan latar belakang tingginya kebutuhan hunian vertikal dan kondisi demografis Batam yang mempercepat permintaan, studi ini memungkinkan pengambilan keputusan teknik konstruksi yang lebih optimal. Dengan menggunakan data populasi dan kebutuhan hunian sebagai motivasi, penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan gambaran seberapa besar penghematan waktu dan biaya yang dapat dicapai jika metode precast Half Slab diadopsi, termasuk implikasi terhadap penyediaan hunian yang lebih cepat dan terjangkau di Batam. Abstract

In realizing individual health rights, health services are required to be able to place resources and organization efficiently with the advancement of medical world. Clinical pathway (CP) is a disease management tool used to reduce unnecessary variations in services to improve clinical outcomes and to control the use of resources (financial). Acute appendicitis is one of the most common causes of acute abdominal pain, with cases from 20-30% and increasing 32-72% at age of <60 years. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study on the implementation of CP in the RSU. Royal Prima Medan. This study was conducted by using mix method with a case study design. Qualitative data were taken by interview and observation with case manager, medical committee, and nurses (n = 5) and quantitative data were taken with simple descriptive from acute appendicitis CP documentation in medical records and ICPAT (January - September 2020, n = 117). The level of completeness for CP was 100% and form filling was 85%. ICPAT dimension 1 contents and quality are good, dimension 2 contents still lack, and quality is moderate, dimension 3 contents is good and quality is moderate, dimension 4 content in moderate criteria and quality is good, dimension 5 contents still lack and quality is moderate and dimension 6, contents is good and quality is in moderate category. Where the obstacles are due to lack of understanding and time constraints. The development of urinary tract stones CP is not quite optimal; it is necessary to conduct periodic socialization and training to support understanding in filling out CP.

Abstract

Obstacles in the mobility aspect for people with disabilities can interfere with daily activities. The current era of technology has created many innovative tools and vehicles for people with disabilities, especially cars for wheelchair users. Safe and comfortable driving requires a good steering system, this can also support driving performance for people with disabilities. This research aims to support car driving performance for people with disabilities by providing new innovations in the steering system, namely the use of a portograf handlebar with a rack and pinion mechanism for movement of vehicle front wheels. The process of designing the handlebar steering system was carried in systematically using the VDI 2222 method which includes planning, conceptualizing, designing and finishing. The design results show that the portograf handlebar steering system with a rack and pinion mechanism has maximal performance based on analysis of critical components according to the needs of riders with disabilities.

Abstract

Mobility for persons with disabilities remains hindered by the lack of wheelchair-friendly transportation facilities, particularly in securing and stabilizing the wheelchair during travel. This study aims to design a wheelchair fixture system for Wheelchair User Vehicles using the VDI 2222 design method, which includes four main stages: planning, concept development, design, and finalization. Concept selection analysis was carried out using the Composite Performance Index (CPI) method, resulting in the optimal combination of a spring clamp, vertical bearing guide, and upper locking locator. Simulation using SolidWorks shows that the design can withstand a load of 657.05 N (65 kg) with a safety factor value of up to 3.000, indicating the system is safe and reliable. This design is expected to provide an innovative solution for disability-friendly vehicles with a lightweight, functional, and independently operable system.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the performance of four types of blades, namely cutter knives, razor blades, wood carving knives, and meat blender knives, on a 220 ml portable plastic packaging shredder. The research was conducted through experimental testing to determine the durability and cutting efficiency of each type of blade under workload during the shredding process. The test results showed that the wood carving knife had the best performance with a cutting force of 1 N, producing the highest number of cuts, totaling 41 plastic cups compared to the other knives. The cutter knife ranked second with 38 cuts, while the razor blade and meat blender knife showed the lowest results. The combination of an optimal wedge angle and low cutting force makes the wood carving knife the most efficient choice for a portable plastic shredder. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference in selecting effective and economical blades to support small and medium scale plastic waste recycling process.
