Abstract

This public service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and to elevate the skill of related civilian servant officers. The activity also targets the society public figure, especially in the terms of public speaking,  in order to improve the quality of public service. In its broader scope, the research is hoped to provide positive support for those entities, particulary for their self development in reaching a better career opportunity.  The activity‟s subjects are civiliant servant officers and society public figure at Taman Bogo Village, Purbolinggo District, East Lampung Regency. This activity was held in form of speech, discussion and limited practice. It was followed by 24 people consist of 3 civiliant servant officers from surrounding villages and districts while the rest were the society public figures such as head of village, religious and youth leaders.  The public service activity results show that there are considerable enhancement regarding the knowlegde of public speaking. This can be seen from the post test results as well as discussion during the activity. The same condition also applies for the participants‟ positive respond and motivation.   Keywords: Public Speaking, Skill

Abstract

This community service was motivated by the condition in which there a lot of game and TV program containing violence consumed by children. In a city like Bandar Lampung, most parents do not have enough time to keep watching and accompany the children neither when playing the game nor watching TV. In addition, the children now have an easy access to play any game. The aim of this project is to deliver the knowledge to the children about the impact of violent contents in TV  program  and game. The method used in  this activity was a talk show including showing the example of proper program for the children as well as the improper one, then it was comprehended by discussion session between the participants and the presenters. After this activity had been conducted,  the result showed that the average knowledge of the participants was in maximum value, 2 (after rounded up) which means there is  47% increase  in the knowledge on the impact of violent contents in TV  program  and game. This result is expected to become a  foundation for the participants to control the media they consumed without fully depending on parents‟ guidance and control.  Key words: Media lite racy, media effect, violence, children

Abstract

This study examines the objectivity of daily newspapers (SKH) on the news about Governor and Vice Governor Candidate in Lampung Province General Elections on 2014. Newspaper as a form of mass media used to interpret and reassemble the complex facts of reality into a meaningful story which can be understood by audiences. One of the main events that have been constructed in advance is a political event. Political coverage has dimensions of public opinion formation (public opinion) because it could affect the political achievement of political actors. The formation of public opinion in Lampung Provincial General Election also takes place during the campaign before the vote (1-7 November 2014). The news was reported by Lampung Post Daily Newspaper, Tribun Lampung Daily Newspaper and Radar Lampung Daily Newspaper. This study uses a quantitative approach with content analysis method (content analysis). As a result, the Tribune Lampung Daily Newspaper has higher values in reporting the news’ factuality and impartiality principles. This difference is attributed to the editorial policy of the media and also the object influencingfactor such as the object’s strategic position and financial strength.Keywords: Objectivity, daily newspapers, election, content analysis

Abstract

Pemanfaatan e-governmentditujukan untuk membuat manajemen dan kerja pemerintahan bisa lebih efektif dan efisiandalam mencapai prinsip-prinsip good governance. Baik dalam hal kecepatan proses adminitrasi, perizinan, ataupun sosialisasi kebijakan-kebijakan pemerintah pada masyarakat dan pelaku bisnis lainnya. Melalui egovernment hubungan antara Pemerintah, pelaku bisnis.setor swasta dan masyarakat bisa lebih responsif, efektif, efisien, transparan dan akuntabel. Konsep baik dari egovernment ini mendapat respon positif dari pemerintah dan lembaga publik, maka bermunculanlah situs-situs web e-governmet untuk kepentingan pelayanan publik dan administrasi internal. Akan tetapi pada perjalanannya, penerapan e-government ini belum maksimal, terlihat dariperingkat EGDI (E-Government Development Index) Indonesia yang masih rendah. Hambatan infrastruktur yang menjadi salahsatu penyebab bisa dijembatani dengan e-government melalui media sosial. Karakter media sosial yang partisipatif dan terbuka serta pemanfaatannya yang sangat tinggi di Indonesia menjadi peluang kuat bagi pemerintah untuk menerapkan e-government. Namun, pengelolaan media sosial pemerintahan masih membutuhkan optimalisasi sehingga prinsip-prinsip good governance yang diharapkan bisa tercapai. Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola konsumsi berita di Bandar Lampung sekaligus melihat jenis media massa serta berita yang dipercaya dan paling banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan metode survei. Indikator penelitian berupa akses dan terpaan media serta motif keaktifan khalayak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para digital natives dan digital immigrants memiliki ketertarikan dan pola konsumsi tinggi terhadap berita karena kemampuan mereka dalam menggunakan teknologi digital dan internet. Hal ini berbeda dengan digital settlers yang tingkat ketertarikan dan pola konsumsi beritanya rendah.

Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of the community service activity was to improve knowledge and information literacy skills among teenagers in Bandarlampung against hoax on Corona virus in social media. The outbreak of the Corona virus (Covid-19) in the past few months has resulted in widely spread hoaxes and conspiracy theories in the community, including in social media. Indonesia is one of countries with the highest number of social media users in the world, and teenager is a social group that are very active in social media. It suggests that teenagers are vulnerable to hoaxes in social media. It is the reason that this training is very important for them. After participating in this activity, the teenagers became more aware that they need to more critical toward information in social media, they have more understanding about hoax characteristics, and they know how to evaluate information from social media.Keywords: media literacy, information literacy, social mediaABSTRAKTujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan information literacy bagi para remaja dalam melawan hoax tentang virus Corona di media sosial. Merebaknya penyebaran virus Corona (Covid-19) beberapa bulan terakhir telah menyebabkan maraknya hoax dan teori konspirasi dalam masyarakat, termasuk di media sosial. Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan jumlah pengguna media sosial yang tertinggi di dunia, dan remaja merupakan kelompok masyarakat yang sangat aktif di media sosial. Hal itu mengindikasikan bahwa remaja merupakan kelompok yang rentan terhadap hoax di media sosial. Oleh karena itu kegiatan ini sangat penting untuk mengedukasi remaja supaya dapat menangkal hoax di media sosial. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini, pengetahuan dan kemampuan para remaja meningkat dalam beberapa hal, antara lain sikap kritis terhadap informasi di media sosial, mereka lebih memahami ciri-ciri hoax, dan cara mengevaluasi informasi di media sosial.Kata kunci: literasi media, literasi informasi, media sosial.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the implementation of local broadcast programs by MNC Group in Lampung Province in June 2021. The purpose were to obtain complete information about the description of local broadcast programs and their implementations. This research applied a case study approach with a qualitative descriptive type to describe existing symptoms or realities related to local broadcast programs. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the MNC Group's local broadcast program in Lampung Province has not fully met the criteria based on Law 32 of 2002 and Broadcasting Behavior Guidelines and Broadcast Program Standards (P3SPS). Among them were; 10% of local broadcast time has not fully been implemented, local prime time has not been fulfilled, and inconsistencies between broadcast programs reported to the Central of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) and their implementation. In addition, local broadcasts by MNC Group have not fully demonstrated broadcast production activities carried out by local human resource.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the business world, but the most affected are micro, small, and medium enterprises that have limitations in terms of resources. Including Lampung tapis MSMEs in Katon State Village which experienced a 70% decrease in turnover. Micro, small and medium enterprises must be able to take advantage of their limited digital resources to be able to increase sales. One way that can be done is to use social commerce on several social media platforms as a means of promotion as well as sales. The purpose of this community service activity is to help the people of Katon State village to use social commerce as an alternative medium to promote their Tapis cloth products so that people can find out about Tapis fabric products and finally buy the Tapis fabric products. This training provides an understanding of the use of social commerce on four social media, namely Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. As a result, 96.7% of the 60 training participants admitted that the use of social commerce for promotion would be very beneficial in the sale of Lampung tapis.
