Abstract

Abstrak: Pandemi Covid-19 berawal dari Wuhan China pada Desember 2019 dan mulai berkembang di Indonesia pada awal Maret, salah satu untuk mengantisipasi penyebaran virus ini adalah suatu daerah harus melaksanakan karatina lokal. Khusus untuk wilayah Surabaya, lockdown atau karantina lokal akan dilakukan mulai akhir April. Proses karantina lokal sangat berpengaruh dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan masyarakat, terutama perekonomian. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meringankan beban masyarakat kelas menengah ke bawah yang sedang mengalami kesulitan ekonomi dengan memberikan bantuan bahan pangan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di kawasan Simo Banyu Urip Surabaya. Pembagian sembako dilakukan 4 kali dalam sebulan, setiap hari Jumat, dan dilakukan selama 3 bulan. Kegiatan ini mengunakan strategi IPOAI (Identifying, Planning, Organizing, Acting, Impact). Data masyarakat terdampak Covid-19 diperoleh dari ketua RT dan RW setempat. Orang yang mendapatkan bantuan lebih diutamakan mereka yang kehilangan mata pencaharian utama, pendapatan berkurang, dan orang tua. Dalam seminggu rata-rata 20 paket sembako dibagikan berdasarkan data yang diperoleh. Bantuan bahan makanan kepada mereka sangat membantu meringankan beban hidup masyarakat dalam mengatasi dampak krisis ekonomi dalam jangka pendek.Abstract: The Covid-19 pandemic started in Wuhan, China, in December 2019 and began to develop in Indonesia in early March. One of the ways to anticipate the spread of this virus is that an area must carry out local quarantine. Especially for the Surabaya area, a local lockdown or quarantine will be carried out starting at the end of April. The local quarantine process is very influential in various aspects of people's lives, especially the economy. This community service activity aims to ease the burden on the lower-middle-class people experiencing economic difficulties by providing food assistance. This activity was carried out in the Simo Banyu Urip area of Surabaya. The distribution of basic needs is carried out four times a month, every Friday, and for three months. This activity uses the IPOAI (Identifying, Planning, Organizing, Acting, Impact) strategy. Data on people affected by Covid-19 were obtained from the local RT, and RW heads. People who get assistance are prioritized for those who have lost their main livelihood, reduced income, and the elderly. In a week, an average of 20 food packages are distributed based on the data obtained. Food assistance to them helps ease the burden on people's lives in overcoming the impact of the economic crisis in the short term.

Abstract

Elektrokoagulasi merupakan teknologi pengolahan limbah cair menggunakan tegangan listrik. Elektrokoagulasi memanfatkan prinsip elektrokimia untuk mengendapkan berbagai pengotor didalam limbah baik bahan organik maupun anorganik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi jarak elektroda dan waktu proses elektrokoagulasi terhadap persen removal COD, TSS dan Intensitas warna. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan elektroda Al-Zn dengan ukuran 5x10 cm dan reaktor elektrokoagulasi 20x16x16 cm. Jarak elektroda pada proses elektrokoagulasi ini divariasikan yaitu pada jarak 2, 4 dan 6 cm. Waktu proses yang digunakan yaitu selama 220, 240, 260, 280 dan 300 menit. Tegangan listrik dalam proses elektrokoagulasi yang digunakan 12 volt. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Persen removal COD dan Intensitas tertinggi pada lama waktu elektrokoagulasi 300 menit yaitu 93,49% dan 95,5%. Sedangkan untuk persen removal TSS lama waktu elektrokoagulasi terbaik pada 280 menit sebesar 78,71%. Jarak antar elektroda terbaik menghasilkan persen removal COD, TSS, dan intensitas warna, pada jarak terbaik pada 2 cm.

Abstract

Peningkatan permintaan sepeda motor harus diimbangi dengan penambahan layanan seperti bengkel. Kegiatan bengkel juga menghasilkan limbah berupa bahan berbahaya dan beracun (B3). Limbah B3 jika tidak dikelola dengan benar dapat membahayakan lingkungan dan kesehatan manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghitung timbulan limbah B3, mengetahui karakteristiknya, serta untuk mengetahui pengelolaan LB3 oleh bengkel kendaraan roda dua. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Limbah yang berasal bengkel yaitu limbah oli bekas, kemasan oli atau pelumas bekas, limbah aki, dan kain majun bekas. Rata-rata timbulan oli bekas yang dihasilkan bengkel dalam seminggu adalah 9.6 liter/hari. Pengelolaan limbah B3 yang dilakukan oleh bengkel adalah penyimpanan dan pemanfaatan oli bekas.

Abstract

The Kalibokor drainase is a branch of the Kalimas River which passes Sukolilo District as the downstream. Sukolilo District is dominated by residential areas, educational areas, commercial areas and hospitals where some of the wastewater discharges directly to the Kalibokor drainase. The purpose of this study was to determine the watershed conditions of the mafcroinvertebrates types found using biologic method. This research is descriptive with a survey approach that identifies the biota of the Kalibokor drainase as an indicator of water pollution in Sukolilo District. Data analysis was carried out by starting with the identification of the obtained macroinvertebrates, then clasify biota become 2 groups, namely EPT (Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, and Tricoptera) and non-EPT, then calculating the Water Pollution Index. The results showed that the Kalibokor drainase in Klampis Ngasem Village, Sukolilo District was included in the moderately polluted category.

Abstract

Sungai memiliki banyak manfaat bagi kebutuhan makhluk hidup, namun sebagian besar dari sungai tercemar dengan kategori berat. Surabaya merupakan Ibukota Jawa Timur yang menggunakan sungai sebagai sumber air baku untuk air minum. Pemantauan kualitas air dengan mengidentifikasi biota perairan yang hidup di sungai dapat memberikan informasi mengenai kategori pencemaran air. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pencemaran kualitas air di Kali Menur Pumpungan dengan menggunakan metode biolitik. Penelitian dilakukan di Kali Menur Pumpungan . Penentuan stasiun penelitian dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian didpatkan jenis 3 famili makroinvertebrata tergolong toleran yaitu Parathelpipusidae-B, Thiaridae-B, Viviparidae dan 1 famili tergolong sangat toleran yaitu Tubificidae. Family Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, and Tricoptera  (EPT) tidak ditemukan di Kali Menur Pumpungan. Nilai rerata kualitas air Kali Menur Pumpungan sebesar 1.2 yang termasuk ke dalam kategori tercemar berat. Metode Penilaian kualitas air menggunakan metode biotilik dapat digunakan sebagai bahan edukasi lingkungan kepada masyarakat untuk menjaga sungai dari pencemaran.

Abstract

Solid waste management is a serious challenge for the government in making policies, so integrated and sustainable waste management is needed. Gresik Regency is one of the areas that support the development of the city of Surabaya so it is experiencing rapid growth in all sectors. The condition of the capacity of the Ngipik landfill waste cell serving the Gresik sub-district has experienced an overload. The problem in this research is how solid waste management in Gresik district is viewed from the technical aspect with an evaluation that refers to the applicable laws and regulations on waste so that the research objectives are obtained by analyzing the technical aspects. This study uses quantitative data and qualitative data methods and then analyzed them by conducting a review of aspects related to the validity of existing conditions according to normative standards and waste management theory. The evaluation results obtained as follows: The level of waste reduction has not yet reached 30% and waste services in Gresik sub-district by: 100%, there is still at least a willingness to store segregated containers, there are still TPS without roofs, transportation has been fulfilled but the fleet and containers are still available, not feasible, the location of the Ngipik landfill is feasible based on SNI 03-3141-1994.

Abstract

Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di Sungai Kalibokor Selatan yang terletak di perbatasan Sungai Kalibokor dan Sungai Ngagel. Memperhatikan sungai tersebut yang mengalir melewati permukiman warga diperkirakan akan mendapat beberapa input baik dari proses alami maupun dari kegiatan masyarakat di sekitarnya seperti air limbah dari rumah tangga dibuang secara langsung ke badan sungai tanpa pengolahan sehingga berpotensi menerima dampak langsung maupun tidak langsung dari aktivitas tersebut. Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang penentuan kualitas air sungai dengan metode biomonitoring sehingga menjadi tolak ukur untuk mengetahui kualitas lingkungan di perbatasan Sungai Kalibokor dan Sungai Ngagel, Surabaya. Penilitian ini menghubungkan kualitas air dan makroinvertebrata di Sungai Kalibokor untuk melakukan penilaian kualitas air sungai. Hasil parameter air sungai mendapatkan nilai COD sebesar 88 mg/l, pH sebesar 7.3, suhu sebesar 31°C, kekeruhan sebesar 49,71 NTU, dan TDS sebesar 253 ppm. Makroinvertebrata yang ditemukan di aliran sungai sebanyak empat jenis yaitu Parathelpipusidae-B, Thiaridae-B, Thiaridae-A, dan AtydaeKata kunci: Biomonitoring, makroinverteberata, biotilik

Abstract

Solid waste generation can increase due to people's activities that increase compared to the early pandemic in 2020. The solid waste management paradigm is no longer focused on landfilling waste in landfills. Solid waste reduction activities can extend the landfill's lifetime, one of the reduction activity facilities is Material Recovery Facilities (MRF). Surabaya, the capital city of East Java Province in Indonesia, has several MRF. One of them is Tambak Osowilangon . This study aims to determine the solid waste reduction in ponds in Osowilangon Material Recovery Facility during the COVID-19 pandemic and to predict greenhouse gas reduction based on solid waste. The triangular method calculates the greenhouse gases (GHG) prediction of solid waste management in Osowilangon MRF. Solid waste generation in Tambak Osowilangon MRF was produced at 2704.946 kg/day. The highest composition of solid waste was achieved by food waste (63%), and the existing reduction of solid waste in Ponds Osowilangon MRF is 56.08%. The total volume of GHG produced without reduction scenario is 6.16 x 10 6 m 3 /year, while the GHG produced from an existing reduction in Tambakosowilangon MRF is 2.4 x 10 6 m 3/ year. Solid waste management in Tambakosowilangon MRF can reduce 61.04% of the total GHG volume

Abstract

The existence of slaughterhouses is important to fulfill the need for animal protein for consumers. Every day, slaughterhouses produce waste from their activities. The liquid waste generated contains high organic load. In this study, we focused on a constructed wetland system with Typha angustifolia plant as a phytoremediation medium to treat slaughterhouse wastewater. This plant was studied for its ability to remove the organic load of slaughterhouse wastewater in terms of BOD, COD, TSS, and NH3N parameters. This research begins with the construction of a reactor in the form of a container box with a size of 20cm x 21cm x 31cm which will be filled with soil (10cm), silica sand (2cm), and gravel (2cm). Acclimatization is carried out to enter the range finding test experiment, where the concentration of effluent exposure used is 25%, 50%, and 75% for a period of 7 days. Data analysis aims to compare the water quality in the reactor using the overal efficiency equation, which is then continued with the Anova test. Based on the research that has been done, Typha angustifolia succeeded in removing BOD by 97.90%, COD 98.95%, TSS 94.09%, and NH3N 94.61%. Anova test showed that concentration and detention time did not affect the effectiveness of plants in reducing waste.

Abstract

PT X is an industry engaged in the production of snacks. The processes and activities in the industry produce by-products, namely hazardous and toxic waste. All waste is stored in temporary storage, but based on observations, the extant temporary storage does not meet the government's requirements. Accordingly, PT X redesigned a temporary storage area following government requirements. This study aims to identify a temporary storage location that complies with government regulations for PT X. Recording the types, characteristics, and quantities produced by PT X, followed by existing observation, is followed by the calculation of facility needs according to SNI and individual calculations. This research analysis provides property and layout recommendations to enhance the condition of PT X's temporary storage for hazardous and toxic refuse.
