Abstract

Jago Jaya Shuttlecock Industry is an MSME in Jagalan, Surakarta, that produces shuttlecocks. Based on these conditions, a study was conducted in 2020 by Sherlinta Kaban, which produced a label cutting tool tested on a label cutting workstation. However, in the trial, there are several obstacles found in using the label cutting tool, so follow-up study to analyze and improve the label cutting tools in previous studies to produce a new design that can be re-implemented. Ergonomics aspects used in this study are analysis of work posture using REBA, measurement of standard time with Westinghouse adjustments, the study of left and right-hand map movements, and tool redesign using the Reverse Engineering method. The improvements include implementing a new label cutting tool that can improve the operator's work posture, reduce standard time, increase the number of standard outputs, and improve operator hand movements to increase productivity at label cutting work stations.

Abstract

Kansei engineering is a critical method for designing products that meet functionality, usability, and pleasurability, essential elements for business success. Despite its significance, there is limited understanding of how this method has evolved in recent years. This study aims to analyze the development of Kansei Engineering research from 2018 to 2022 using the Scopus database. The research methodology involved stages of identification, screening, filtering, and inclusion, resulting in 41 articles for detailed analysis out of an initial 215. The results indicate that 85% of Kansei Engineering research focuses on tangible products, with 83% categorized as type 1 studies, and 56% not integrating other methods. Additionally, 88% of the studies use only Kansei words, and 41% visualize design results as 3D images, with 95% not considering unique aspects. is dominance of tangible product design and the lack of integration with other methods suggest a need for diversification in research approaches. Furthermore, the high reliance on Kansei words and 3D visualizations points to a potential area for innovation and expansion in research techniques. This review highlights a significant research gap in Kansei Engineering studies, emphasizing the need for more diversified approaches. By identifying these gaps, the study provides a clear direction for future research, recommending that Kansei Engineering should explore beyond the predominant trends and consider integrating with other methods and unique aspects. This can enhance the method's application in industrial engineering and lead to more comprehensive and innovative product designs. Future research should aim to fill these gaps, ensuring that Kansei Engineering continues to evolve and contribute effectively to the field of product design and development.

Abstract

Background: Many MSMEs in Indonesia struggle to comply with the packaging label standards from the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM). The root of this problem is knowledge gaps among MSME owners about labeling standards. Contribution:  This community services program contributes to enhance awareness of BPOM-compliant food packaging among MSMEs through counseling programs.  This program differs from previous counseling programs by incorporating digital aids, specifically in redesigning packaging that complies with BPOM standards. Method: Thirty participants attended an interactive discussion and counseling session in Purwodiningratan Village, Surakarta. Using visual aids and digital packaging design examples to show compliance, the session discussed BPOM's standards. Semi-structured interviews and post-session assessments were done to assess influence; descriptive analysis was then used for interpretation. Results:  Showed that 80% of the participants engaged actively in conversations, and 70% desired to implement what they learned in the counseling session. Conclusion: The counseling session increased participants' understanding of standard food packaging regulations and shifted their perceptions. Early signs of behavioral change supported the efficiency of participatory counseling in improving MSMEs' compliance with regulations.

Abstract

Kesehatan mental merupakan salah satu isu yang semakin mendapat perhatian di seluruh dunia. Masalah kesehatan mental sering kali diabaikan, namun dampaknya dapat merusak kualitas hidup individu dan masyarakat secara keseluruhan. Faktor lain yang mempengaruhi upaya penyuluhan kesehatan mental adalah pemahaman yang kurang baik dan kesadaran yang rendah tentang kesehatan mental. Dari penjelasan permasalahan tersebut maka perlu adanya analisis sentimen untuk mengetahui opini masyarakat terhadap kesehatan mental di media sosial youtube. Analisis sentimen merupakan suatu proses untuk memahami emosi atau sentimen dari suatu teks yang ditulis oleh pengguna baik berupa sentimen positif, netral ataupun negatif.  Proses pengambilan dataset dilakukan mengunakan platform Google Colab untuk crawling data dan terkumpul sekitar 2.703 komentar. Setelah dilakukan proses cleaning dan preprocessing jumlah data yang tersisa adalah sebanyak 1700. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan algoritma Naïve Bayes dan K-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN).  Dalam penelitian ini, dua metode yang digunakan yaitu pelabelan manual dan pelabelan otomatis menggunakan tools RapidMiner. Pada tahap pertama, pelabelan manual dilakukan pada 305 data menghasilkan nilai akurasi 95% untuk algoritma Naïve Bayes dan nilai akurasi 85.88% untuk algoritma k-NN. Pada tahap kedua, pelabelan otomatis digunakan dengan data latih sebanyak 305 data dan data uji 1.395 data menghasilkan nilai akurasi 68.01% untuk algoritma Naïve Bayes dan nilai akurasi 48.97% untuk algoritma k-NN. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma Naïve Bayes memiliki akurasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan algoritma K-Nearest Neighbor dalam mengklasifikasikan sentimen dari komentar YouTube terkait isu kesehatan mental.

Abstract

Background: Motion capture technology is essential in sports biomechanics for analyzing human movement. Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors offer a practical alternative to camera-based systems, providing real-time motion analysis. While previous studies in badminton biomechanics have largely focused on stroke phases or lower-limb movements using optical systems, few have investigated the detailed angular behavior of upper-limb joint-particularly the wrist and forearm during specific serve types. Moreover, existing research rarely compares different serve techniques in terms of kinematics using wearable IMU-based methods.Aims: This study aims to analyze angular movement patterns of the wrist and forearm during different badminton serve techniques using IMU sensor. Understanding the wrist and forearm movements is crucial, as they directly affect shuttle control, serve conssitency, and injury risk- especiaally in high-spedd, repetitive motions like the badminton serve.Methods: Sensors were placed on the dorsum of the hand and the forearm near elbow to measure angular motion in three serves: backhand, short forehand, and long forehand.Result: Results indicate that the centroid calculation results showed that each type of serves had a different angular distribution pattern, with varying contributions from the forearm and wrist. The forearm plays a dominant role in generating power, while the wrist contributes more to directional control and stabilization. Results indicate that forearm movement is more dominant in forehand serves, while wrist movement is more pronounced in backhand serves. These findings suggest that IMU-based motion analysis can optimize badminton techniques, prevent injuries, and enhance training programs.

Abstract

The study conducted a systematic review of seven scientific articles published between 2014 and 2024 to uncover emerging safety concerns in the tourism industry and suggest preventive measures. The identified safety threats in the sector include environmental risks, health issues, crime, terrorism, and digital dangers. Solutions like mobile safety apps and smart devices are being utilized to address these risks. The research aligns tourism safety strategies with Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) and proposes a multi-level intervention framework encompassing individual, organizational, and government actions. The study aims to contribute both theoretically by linking safety strategies with PMT and practically through the development of a comprehensive safety planning approach for sustainable tourism.

Abstract

Introduction: Occupational safety and health (OSH) is a key pillar in creating a productive and sustainable work environment, especially in the high-risk manufacturing sector. As global demands for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles increase, the integration of safety culture and sustainable technology is an important strategy to strengthen the protection of workers' health while supporting industrial sustainability. Method: A quantitative approach was used by distributing questionnaires to 200 workers from various categories of manufacturing industries. The analysis used included correlation tests, multiple linear regression, and scenario simulations of technological improvements and recycling efficiency of personal protective equipment. Result: The main variables analyzed were discipline in wearing PPE, consistency, reward-punishment, and the application of wearable technology and environmentally friendly PPE. The regression results show that the discipline of using PPE is the most significant factor in shaping occupational safety culture (p = 0.001). Although the technology and reward variables are not statistically significant, the simulation shows that increased investment in safety technology can accelerate the growth of safety culture and indirectly strengthen occupational health protection.The implementation of sustainability principles, such as the use of environmentally friendly PPE materials and recycling programs, is also proven to reduce the impact of industrial waste and contribute to the Environmental aspect of ESG. Conclusion: While lowering the effect of industrial waste, the simulation reveals that higher investment in technology and recycling efficiency might hasten the change of safety culture from reactive to proactive. This study theoretically expands the safety culture approach to be more predictive and sustainable under the ESG framework, so improving its sustainability. Practically, these results give a basis for industrial policies to create OSH strategies compatible with digital transformation and world sustainability goals.

Abstract

Pesatnya pertumbuhan sepeda motor di Indonesia telah membawa dampak signifikan terhadap keselamatan lalu lintas, terutama dengan meningkatnya angka kecelakaan akibat perilaku berkendara berisiko. Salah satu upaya mengontrol perilaku ini adalah melalui legalitas surat izin mengemudi (SIM) yang bertujuan memastikan pengemudi memiliki kompetensi yang memadai. Namun, sistem penerbitan SIM di Indonesia sering kali masih menghadapi tantangan berupa praktik percaloan yang memungkinkan pengemudi memperoleh SIM tanpa melalui prosedur resmi yang mencakup ujian kelayakan sesuai aturan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh legalitas SIM terhadap perilaku berkendara berisiko dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor lain yang relevan menggunakan kerangka extended theory of planned behavior (TPB). Dengan melibatkan 355 responden yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling, data dianalisis menggunakan partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) untuk unigroup dan multigroup. Analisis unigroup dilakukan pada satu kelompok sampel. Analisis multigroup dilakukan pada dua atau lebih kelompok sampel terpisah untuk membandingkan apakah model analisis atau hubungan di antara variabel berbeda secara signifikan antar kelompok tersebut. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan signifikan antara kelompok yang memperoleh SIM melalui jalur resmi dan calo dalam memengaruhi perilaku berkendara berisiko. Namun, variabel kebiasaan berkendara (KB), niat berkendara (NB), kontrol perilaku (KP), dan sikap (SK) tetap memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku tersebut, di mana kebiasaan berkendara menjadi faktor dominan. Temuan ini menekankan perlunya reformasi sistem penerbitan SIM dan penguatan pendidikan keselamatan berkendara untuk mewujudkan pengendara yang lebih bertanggung jawab dan mengurangi risiko kecelakaan.

Abstract

Proses fermentasi tempe pada Industri Kecil dan Menengah (IKM) umumnya masih dilakukan secara manual sehingga sering menimbulkan ketidakkonsistenan suhu dan kelembapan, yang berdampak pada lamanya waktu fermentasi serta kualitas produk yang kurang seragam. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu mitra IKM Tempe dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan produktivitas melalui penerapan inkubator fermentasi tempe yang stabil, terjangkau, dan mudah dioperasikan. Inkubator dirancang menyerupai kabinet logam dengan enam tingkat rak tarik yang ergonomis, dilengkapi sembilan lampu pijar sebagai sumber panas dan lima exhaust fan untuk sirkulasi udara, dengan pengoperasian sederhana menggunakan saklar manual. Mitra dilibatkan dalam proses uji coba dan pelatihan penggunaan alat. Hasil pendampingan menunjukkan inkubator mampu menjaga suhu 30–40 °C dan kelembapan 60–70%. Tempe yang dihasilkan memiliki kualitas lebih seragam dari segi tekstur, aroma, dan warna, serta mengurangi risiko kegagalan fermentasi. Dengan alat yang ergonomis dan biaya produksi relatif murah, kegiatan ini dinilai memberikan manfaat nyata bagi mitra IKM, serta mendukung pencapaian SDG 9 (industri, inovasi, dan infrastruktur).

Abstract

Penilaian kesiapan kerja menggunakan model kesesuaian untuk tugas (Fitness for Duty) pada pengemudi truk berdasarkan aspek fisik, mental, dan kerja memiliki signifikansi yang penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kesiapan kerja menggunakan model kesesuaian untuk tugas pada pengemudi truk PT. Lookman Djaja dengan menggunakan Tugas Kewaspadaan Psikomotor (PVT), Skala Analog Visual (VAS), Skala Kantuk Karolinska (KSS), dan regresi logistik untuk pengolahan data. Lima belas pengemudi truk PT. Lookman Djaja dengan dua waktu kerja yang berbeda mendukung penelitian dengan usia, berat badan, tinggi badan, kualitas tidur, konsumsi rokok, konsumsi kafein, waktu kerja, perhatian, kelelahan, dan kantuk sebagai variabel independen. Untuk variabel dependen digunakan FFD dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penilaian dan evaluasi tingkat kesesuaian untuk tugas cukup baik. Berdasarkan model yang telah dibuat, 90,9% pengemudi siap untuk bertugas. Sebanyak 80% pengemudi truk diprediksi sesuai. Nilai adjusted R2 pada model adalah 56,40%. Kemampuan model untuk memprediksi nilai pengamatannya termasuk tinggi (72,10%). PVT dapat digunakan untuk menilai kesesuaian untuk tugas pengemudi truk, sedangkan VAS dan KSS tidak dapat digunakan. Perhatian mempengaruhi kesiapan kerja pengemudi truk, sedangkan kelelahan dan kantuk berpengaruh tetapi kurang signifikan. Waktu kerja pengemudi tidak secara signifikan mempengaruhi kesiapan kerja pengemudi, tetapi waktu kerja mempengaruhi perubahan tingkat perhatian pengemudi sebelum dan setelah bekerja.
