Abstract

The issue of developing the Kuala Bubon mangrove forest in West Aceh as an ecotourism destination has emerged and is widely discussed in the public sphere, gaining much sympathy and support from the community, considering the forest’s high biodiversity of flora and fauna. However, ecotourism activities, if not properly managed, can pose a serious threat to the sustainability of the ecosystem, such as unplanned infrastructure development that damages the habitats of various flora and fauna. Therefore, ecotourism needs to be managed effectively through pre-ecotourism studies, particularly the design of sustainable infrastructure spatial planning. The goal of this research is to create a site plan for sustainable ecotourism infrastructure integrated with the mangrove ecosystem. This design ensures that the negative impacts of infrastructure development in ecotourism areas can be minimized through the application of sustainable strategies and practices. The stages of this research include: 1. Documenting the potential of natural resources as ecotourism attractions and ecological conditions, 2. Mapping spatial data on ecotourism potential using GIS applications, 3. Designing spatial infrastructure for supporting ecotourism by considering the needs of ecotourism and selecting areas that do not harm the habitats of flora and fauna using AutoCAD. The research was conducted in the Kuala Bubon mangrove forest, West Aceh, from July to August 2024. The results of the research identified six ecotourism potential points, including: 1) Ecotourism boat tours for flora and fauna observation, 2) Open-air camping ecotourism, 3) Fishing ecotourism, 4) Birdwatching ecotourism, 5) Recreational boating ecotourism, and 6) Sunset ecotourism with a coffee shop and heron watching. The spatial planning of ecotourism infrastructure becomes crucial as the foundation for sustainable ecotourism development.

Abstract

Ketahanan pangan merupakan isu krusial yang dihadapi oleh banyak daerah di Indonesia, termasuk Desa Rimo, Kabupaten Aceh Singkil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas program pengembangan produk olahan berbasis potensi lokal dalam meningkatkan ketahanan pangan dan kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat Desa Rimo. Metode yang digunakan meliputi tiga tahap: persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Program ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 12 Agustus 2024 oleh 8 mahasiswa KKN Universitas Teuku Umar, berfokus pada pengolahan kelapa menjadi manisan dan pepaya menjadi keripik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pengolahan produk lokal, serta membangun kapasitas dalam manajemen usaha dan pemasaran. Peningkatan diversifikasi produk olahan kelapa dan pepaya berpotensi meningkatkan pendapatan rumah tangga dan mengurangi tingkat kemiskinan yang saat ini mencapai 15,3%. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pemberdayaan masyarakat yang berkelanjutan dan dapat direplikasi di daerah lain untuk mendukung upaya peningkatan ketahanan pangan dan pengentasan kemiskinan di tingkat regional maupun nasional. Abstract

The development and improvement of irrigation infrastructure serve as the primary source of water supply during the growing season, which can significantly enhance agricultural production. This research aims to evaluate the performance of irrigation systems and the capacity of irrigation channels, this is essential to minimize water loss during the distribution of irrigation water, ensuring that the water needs of rice fields are met and optimizing crop productivity. The research was conducted in Irrigation Area (I.A) Jeuram. This research method is carried out by inventorying the existing conditions of physical and non-physical infrastructure. Then, was evaluates of irrigation area performance, based on the irrigation performance index. The hydraulic analysis to evaluate the channel using HEC-RAS software. The performance of the physical infrastructure of I.A. Jeuram is 26.38% of the optimal condition is 35%. This condition is categorized as moderately to severely damaged. Crop productivity stands is 9.64% of the optimal level of 12.5%. The overall performance index of I.A. Jeuram is 59.32% of its optimal condition, which is 77.5%, indicating that it is in desperate need of attention. While the primary channels can still accommodate the required discharge, its condition is also classified as moderately to severely damaged, compounded by issues of uncontrolled sedimentation. The physical and non-physical infrastructure adversely affects crop productivity and the overall service area of the Jeuram irrigation region. Therefore, it is essential to initiate repairs and ensure regular or periodic operation and maintenance of the irrigation system.

Abstract

Abstrak Banjir yang melanda Desa Leuhan Dusun Raja Ampat kabupaten Aceh Barat disebabkan limpasan air hujan yang mengenangi kawasan setempat. Penyelesaian yang tepat untuk mengatasi banjir kota adalah evaluasi kapasitas penampang drainase. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui debit banjir rancangan dan kapasitas penampang drainase. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan analisis hidrologi dan analisis hidrolika. Hujan rencana dan debit rancangan ditentukan dengan analisis hidrologi. Analisis debit banjir rancangan kala ulang dihitung dengan metode rasional. Kapasitas dan dimensi penampang drainase dihitung berdasarkan analisi hidrolika dengan software HEC-RAS 5.0. Hasil penelitian diperoleh hujan rencana dan debit banjir rencana untuk periode ulang sepuluh tahun yaitu, 259,957 mm dan 712,393 m³/s. Hasil analisis menunjukkan sembilan penampang drainase perlu dilakukan evaluasi. Penampang drainase mengalami luapan disebabkaan oleh ketidakamampuan menampung debit banjir pada saat terjadinya hujan. Setelah dilakukan evaluasi dan perlebaran penampang saluran drainase tinggi luapan mengalami penurunan bahkan tidak terjadi luapan di saluran drainase kawasan perumahan Desa Leuhan.  Kata kunci: drainase , analisis frekuensi, debit banjir, Hec-Ras 5.0, Log Person III Abstract Flooding in Leuhan Village, Raja Ampat Hamlet, West Aceh District is caused by rainwater runoff that inundates the local area. The right solution to overcome urban flooding is the evaluation of drainage cross-sectional capacity. The purpose of this study was to determine the design flood discharge and drainage cross-sectional capacity. The research method was conducted with hydrological analysis and hydraulics analysis. Rainfall and design discharge were determined by hydrological analysis. The analysis of the design flood discharge of the return period was calculated by the rational method. The capacity and dimensions of the drainage cross section were calculated based on hydrological analysis with HEC-RAS 5.0 software. The results of the study obtained the rainfall plan and the flood discharge plan for the ten-year return period, namely, 259.957 mm and 712.393 m³/s. The analysis results show that nine drainage cross sections need to be evaluated. The drainage cross section experienced overflow due to the inability to accommodate flood discharge during rainfall. After the evaluation and widening of the drainage channel cross section, the overflow height has decreased and there is no overflow in the drainage channel of the Leuhan Village residential area. Keywords: Drainage, frequency analysis, flood discharge, Hec-Ras 5.0, person log lll

Abstract

Damage to mangroves on the West Aceh coast due to the disaster tsunami and the increasing utilization of economic activities towards the beach area makes mangrove planting activities necessary. Service activities aim to support the benefits of conservation and expansion of mangrove ecosystems on the Coas of Peunaga Cut Ujong, Meurebo District, West Aceh Regency. This planting activity is a collaborative activity between industry players, academics, and the surrounding community which was initiated by PT MIFA Bersaudara as a form of concern for the environment and concrete action in contributing to coastal ecosystem conservation, especially for achieving the SDGs. The types of mangroves planted were Rhizophora apiculata and Rhizophora mucronate. This planting uses a planting method with artificial regeneration which involves planting seeds, propagules, or mangrove seedlings by moving the seedlings to a new location. Mangrove planting activities in Peunaga Cut Ujong managed to get attention and attention from the village community. Not only involved directly in mangrove planting activities but also committed to the maintenance and monitoring of the planted mangroves. In addition, the success of mangrove planting is also evident from the low mortality rate (5%) of the seedlings. The addition of more leaves, height, and mangrove roots that have begun to appear in some mangrove stands was observed seven months after planting.

Abstract

     AbstractKuta Padang Village, situated in West Aceh Regency, experiences drainage issues that result in flooding reaching the road surface during periods of heavy rainfall. This condition occurs due to waste accumulation in the drainage channels, overgrown vegetation obstructing flow along the channels, and sedimentation leading to siltation. The objective of this study are to analyze the total flood discharge that the existing drainage system can accommodate and to design an eco-drainage system using infiltration wells. The data used in this research consist of primary data (measurements of drainage dimensions, flow direction, and existing drainage conditions) and secondary data, including rainfall data, topographic maps, land use maps, and drainage network maps, which were processed using hydrological and hydraulic analyses. A Hydraulic analysis was conducted to evaluate the capacity of the drainage channels required in the eco-drainage planning through the use of plastic drum infiltration wells. Based on data processing and analysis results, the rainfall with a 5-year return period was found to be 201.27 mm/hour. The comparison between the planned flood discharge and the capacity of the existing drainage channels at three sample points—channels 2, 20, and 40—showed that channels 20 and 40 can still accommodate the planned flood discharge, while channel 2 is insufficient since its capacity is lower than the flood discharge. Mitigation efforts include normalizing the channels that are still functional, while for channel 2, the implementation of an eco-drainage system is proposed through the construction of nine infiltration wells, each with a radius of 0.3 m and a height of 1 m. Keywords:flooding, eco-drainage, infiltration well      AbstrakDesa Kuta Padang yang berada di Kabupaten Aceh Barat merupakan wilayah yang memiliki permasalahan drainase sehingga menyebabkan genangan hingga ke badan jalan pada saat curah hujan tinggi. Kondisi ini terjadi akibat adanya sampah pada saluran, rumput yang menghambat sepanjang saluran, dan sedimentasi yang menyebabkan pendangkalan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis besarnya debit total banjir yang dapat ditampung oleh saluran drainase eksisting dan perencanaan desain sistem eco-drainage melalui sumur resapan. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer (pengukuran dimensi drainase), arah aliran, kondisi drainase eksisting, dan data sekunder berupa data curah hujan, peta topografi skala dan tata guna lahan, serta peta jaringan drainase yang diolah menggunakan analisis hidrologi dan analisis hidrolik. Analisis hidrolika diperlukan untuk mengevaluasi kapasitas saluran drainase yang diperlukan dalam perencanaan eko-drainase sumur resapan menggunakan drum plastik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh curah hujan dengan kala ulang 5 tahun sebesar 201,27 mm/jam. Hasil perbandingan debit banjir rencana dengan kapasitas debit saluran eksisting pada tiga titik sampel saluran 2, saluran 20, dan saluran 40, diketahui bahwa saluran 20 dan saluran 40 masih mampu menampung debit banjir rencana, sedangkan saluran 2 tidak mencukupi karena kapasitas saluran lebih kecil daripada debit banjir. Upaya penanganan dilakukan dengan normalisasi saluran untuk saluran yang masih berfungsi baik, sementara pada saluran 2 direncanakan penerapan sistem eko-drainase melalui pembangunan sembilan unit sumur resapan dengan dimensi radius 0,3 m dan tinggi 1 m.     Kata Kunci:            genangan, eko-drainase, sumur resapan

Abstract

Kabupaten Aceh Barat, sebagai salah satu daerah yang memiliki potensi besar di sektor pertanian, sangat memerlukan sistem irigasi yang dapat mendukung optimalisasi produksi pertanian, sekaligus memperhatikan aspek Kesehatan, Keselamatan, dan Keamanan Kerja (K3) dalam setiap tahap pembangunan infrastruktur irigasinya. Melalui pengabdian ini, diharapkan dapat tercipta kesadaran kolektif akan pentingnya implementasi K3 dalam pembangunan infrastruktur irigasi, yang pada gilirannya akan mendukung keberlanjutan pembangunan sektor pertanian dan meningkatkan ketahanan pangan di Kabupaten Aceh Barat. Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan sosialiasi pentingnya penerpaan safety building, kemudian diperkenalkan bagaimana cara membuat rambu safety building dan K3 yang sesuai dengan standar dan peraturan yang berlaku. Pretest dan posttest dilakukan untuk mengukur peningktan kemampuan peserta tentang pentingnya penerapan K3. Hasil Program Pengabdian dengan tema Optimalisasi Aspek Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) Dalam Pembangunan Infrastruktur Saluran Irigasi Untuk Meningkatkan Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Aceh Barat dapat meningkatkan kemampuan peserta berdasarkan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh meningkat sebanyak 3.4 point. Program ini saat efektif dilakukan pada pekerjaan proyek konstruksi untuk mengurangi kecelakaan kerja selama waktu pelaksanaan proyek. Dengan minimnya kecelakaan kerja dapat mengurangai biaya keselamatan dan Kesehatan kerja dan dampak proyek bagi Masyarakat.
