Abstract

This research aims to determine the types of plants used, the parts used, how traditional medicine is used and the meaning countained contained in the traditional medicine of the Malay tribe in the Bagan Punak Pesisir Village by documenting ethnobotanical knowledge in traditional medicine in Bagan Punak Pesisir Village, Bangko District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau province. The research method used is a survey method with interview and observation techniques. The data collected includes the type of medicinal plant used, the part of the plant used and its medicinal benefits. The results of the research show that there are 7 types of medicinal plants used by the Malay community in Bagan Punak Pesisir Village. These medicinal plants come from various plant families, with the Zingiberaceae, Piperaceae, Acoraceae, Arecaceae and Rubiaceae tribes. The most commonly used plant parts are rhizomes (57.14%), followed by leaves (14.28%), sap (14.28%), and fruit (14.28%). Diseases treated with medicinal plants are fever, headaches and restoring enthusiasm. Ethnobotanical knowledge in traditional Malay medicine in Bagan Punak Pesisir Village is a cultural heritage that needs to be preserved.

Abstract

One of the learning models that is still being implemented after the pandemic ends is blended learning. This study aims to analyze the needs of developing an Inquiry Blended Learning model integrated with ethnoscience in the biology education study program, Lancang Kuning University. The needs analysis in the development of this ethnoscience integrated Inquiry Blended Learning model is in the define phase in the 4D model development research (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The method used is descriptive qualitative. The research instrument used was a questionnaire to analyze the needs of educators and students for the development of an inquiry blended learning model integrated with ethnoscience. The results showed the level of importance of this learning development obtained a kappa moment score from the student response of 0.90 and 0.81 (Very high category) from the lecturer's response. Based on these results it can be concluded that the development of Inquiry Blended Learning integrated with Ethnoscience is needed by students and lecturers in the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Education and Vocational Education.

Abstract

Waste management is one of the major challenges in various institutions, including in the Ma'had Tafaqquh environment. Lack of awareness of waste in sorting and managing it causes the accumulation of organic and inorganic waste which has a negative impact on the environment. To overcome this problem, the concept of a circular economy through the Digital Waste Bank is present as an innovative solution that integrates environmental education and the use of technology. This program aims to increase awareness of waste management based on the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and encourage economic empowerment by utilizing waste that has a selling value. The activities carried out include education for students and residents of Ma'had Tafaqquh regarding waste management, training in the use of the Digital Waste Bank application, and implementation of an effective waste sorting system. The Digital Waste Bank allows for transparent waste recording and management as well as the provision of economic incentives. It is hoped that the results of this program will not only create a cleaner and healthier environment, but also build a sustainable culture and economic independence in Ma'had Tafaqquh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dihadapkan dapat mengetahuihasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan strategi Sortir Kartu pada mata pelajaran Sekolah Ketat Islam (PAI) di KELAS XII IPS SMA Negeri 3 Tambusai. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi dengan pendekatan PTK (Penilaian Tindakan Kelas) dengan metode Card Sort. Dalam pelaksanaan siklus I terjadi peningkatan signifikan pada hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan tidak ada lagi siswa yang memperoleh nilai pada wilayah 45-59, sedangkan pada wilayah 60-75 terdapat 2 siswa yang memperoleh nilai 10%. , pada wilayah 76-84 terdapat 9 siswa dengan tingkat 45% dan pada wilayah 85-100 terdapat 9 siswa dengan tingkat 45%. Pembelajaran pada siklus ini membuat siswa antusias dan semangat . Hal ini karena penggunaan metode Card Sort. Meski begitu, masih ada 5 mahasiswa yang belum sampai di KKM. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan pembelajaran lebih lanjut untuk Siklus II sangat penting dilakukan. Berdasarkan temuan dan pembahasan yang peneliti lakukan, dapat peneliti simpulkan bahwa memang benar metode card sort dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada penguasaan surah Al-Mujadalah ayat 11 beserta artinya. Namun dalam melakukan penelitian ini, peneliti terbatas pada waktu penelitian yang sangat singkat sehingga tidak bisa maksimal dalam mengumpulkan dan mengolah data yang ada. Selain itu, penelitian bisa juga untuk mencari minat dan motivasi siswa dalam belajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan penggunaan Project Based Learning dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan  belajar siswa kelas 7 pada mata pelajaran prakarya. Peningkatan pengetahuan belajar dengan menggunakan project based learning untuk mengasah kemampuann siwa dalam menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan dan mempraktekkan teori pembelajaran dalam membuat suatu produk. Penulis mengangkat judul ini karena pertama, siswa masih memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang rendah tentang tanaman obat. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari kurangnya pengetahuan peserta didik dalam menyebutkan nama-nama tanaman obat dalam proses belajar mengajar. Kedua, Rendahnya pengetahuan peserta didik dalam menyebutkan manfaat tanaman obat.  Ketiga, rendahnya Ketiga, pemahaman peserta didik dalam cara penggunaan tanaman obat. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa : Pertama, peserta didik tingkat pengetahuannya tentang tanaman obat mengalami peningkatan yang cukup. Kedua, tingkat pemahaman peserta didik tentang jenis tanaman obat dan manfaatnya mengalami peningkatan yang cukup. Ketiga, pemahaman peserta didik dalam cara penggunaan tanaman obat dalam pengobatan tradisional mengalami peningkatan yang cukup.

Abstract

Scientific studies on vlogs, ethnosciences, and social media literacy are current studies. A study on the development of ethno-vlog that raises local character and can be used as a learning medium is crucial. This study aims to develop a valid and practical ethno-vlog on the production of typical Riau smoked fish (salai fish) as a science learning media, especially in food preservation studies. The research is development research using a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The ethno-vlog validity is carried out by disseminating questionnaires to 5 validators from three universities, namely Universitas Lancang Kuning, Universitas Negeri Padang, and Universitas Negeri Semarang, whereas the ethno-vlog practicality was conducted by three lecturers and 27 students of prospective Biology teachers at Universitas Lancang Kuning, Indonesia. The feasibility test results in that the ethno-vlog of food preservation in the production of typical Riau salai fish is valid and practical to be used as a learning media of food preservation for students of prospective Biology teachers at Universitas Lancang Kuning, Indonesia.

Abstract

The workshop on using technology applications as a learning medium for MTs Al-Ittihad teachers was based on the problem identified by the Postgraduate School Faculty service team, Universitas Lancang Kuning, namely the lack of knowledge about digital literacy in contemporary learning. For this reason, training in using technology applications in learning should be provided. This workshop was held in May 2023 at MTs Al-Ittihad School with 20 participants for 4 hours. To measure the level of teacher understanding, the service team provided questionnaires in the sessions before and after activities. The results of the pre-test regarding the use of technology applications namely ChatGPT, Vocaroo, and Tricider, showed that 93% -100% of the participants did not know about these technology applications. However, after the training was given, the results of the post test showed that 100% of the participants understood and could use the learning technology applications provided. Finally, the service team concluded that teachers really need knowledge about ICT empowerment in order to improve the achievement of learning outcomes. Workshop penggunaan aplikasi teknologi sebagai media pembelajaran bagi guru MTs Al-Ittihad ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan masalah yang diidentifikasi oleh tim pengabdian Fakultas Sekolah Pascasarjana Universitas Lancang Kuning yaitu kurangnya pengetahuan tentang literasi digital dalam pembelajaran kekinian. Untuk itu, pelatihan menggunakan aplikasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran diberikan. Kegiatan workshop ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2023 di Sekolah MTs Al- Ittihad dengan 20 peserta selama 4 jam. Untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman guru pada kegiatan pelatihan ini, tim pelaksana pengabdian memberikan angket pada sesi sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan workshop. Hasil angket pre-test dari penggunaan aplikasi teknologi sebagai media pembelajaran yaitu ChatGPT, Vocaroo, dan Tricider yang diberikan menunjukkan 93%-100% dari peserta belum mengetahui aplikasi teknologi tersebut. Namun, setelah pelatihan diberikan, hasil angket post test menunjukkan 100% peserta memahami dan dapat menggunakan aplikasi teknologi pembelajaran yang diberikan. Akhirnya, tim pengabdian menyimpulkan bahwa guru-guru memang memerlukan pengetahuan tentang pemberdayaan TIK dalam rangka meningkatkan pencapaian hasil belajar.

Abstract

Baitul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School Campus 3 which is located in the West Rumbai District Area, including Pekanbaru City, this campus has a very extensive educational environment so it is necessary to carry out maintenance to maintain the cleanliness of the boarding school, especially for students who may not have knowledge about classifying types of waste and the processor. For this reason, the service team wants to provide education on the introduction of types of waste and their processing. This outreach activity was attended by students, especially at the Aliyah and MTs levels. In the pretest, the percentage of participants who understood various aspects of waste management ranged from 12% to 76%, with the lowest understanding in electronic waste management and the highest in the definition and types of waste. After the counseling was carried out, the results were that participants were very enthusiastic in this activity, so that in the posttest activity the results were 100% of the 25 participants understood the activities carried out.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of santri in managing waste, both organic and inorganic, as well as introduce the concept of waste banks and the benefits of magot in waste management. Through a series of educational materials and hands-on practices, participants were invited to care more about the environment and trained to turn waste into valuable resources. The pretest results showed that most participants already had a basic understanding of waste management, but their knowledge of magot and organic waste processing practices were still low. After the mentoring activities, the posttest results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding, especially in distinguishing between types of waste, understanding the benefits of magot, and awareness of the importance of waste management. As many as 93% of participants felt more confident to process organic waste in the boarding school environment, and 96% of participants were committed to inviting friends or family to participate in waste management activities. This shows that this service activity has succeeded in increasing environmental awareness and empowering santri as agents of change in preserving the environment. This activity is expected to be sustainable, with santri as pioneers in waste management in the pesantren environment and surrounding communities, and become an example for similar programs in the future.
