Abstract

Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) or musculoskeletal disorders are disorders characterized by injuries to muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, cartilage, bones, or blood vessels in the hands, feet, neck, and back. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the prevalence of MSDs is nearly 60% of all occupational diseases. Most musculoskeletal disorders develop over time. Weaving work is work done by sitting continuously. The study aimed to determine the relationship between a work period and work duration with complaints of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among weaving craftsmen in the tourism area of Dusun Sade, Lombok Tengah. Observational analytic quantitative research with cross-sectional research design. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The research was conducted in Sade Hamlet, Lombok Tengah. The research sample is 76 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using the Chi-square test. Respondents who had worked > 5 years (long) totaled 74 people (93,4%) who suffered from MSD complaints and the results of the analysis using Chi-square obtained a p-value of 0.00 (p-value <0.05). Respondents who had working duration > 8 hours/day (long) who suffered from MSDs were 68 people (88,2%), the results of the analysis using Chi-square obtained a p-value of 0.00 (p-value <0.05). There is a significant relationship between work duration and MSD complaints and there is a significant relationship between work duration and MSD complaints among weaving craftsmen in Sade Hamlet, Central Lombok Tengah

Abstract

The Relationship Between Access to Pornographic Media and Premarital Sexual Behavior among Adolescents at XX Schools in the West Lombok Region Abstract Premarital sexual behavior among adolescents is an issue that can lead to unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and psychological stress. Adolescents undergo physical and emotional changes that are often not accompanied by adequate sexual knowledge, while exposure to pornographic media and stress may influence their tendency to engage in sexual behavior. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sexual knowledge, access to pornographic media, and stress levels with the occurrence of premarital sexual behavior among adolescents at School XX in the West Lombok region. This research used a cross-sectional design with 102 respondents selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires on sexual knowledge, pornography exposure, stress levels measured by the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), and premarital sexual behavior. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test and showed a significant relationship between access to pornographic media and premarital sexual behavior (p = 0.000), while sexual knowledge (p = 0.352) and stress levels (p = 0.289) were not associated with premarital sexual behavior.

Abstract

Parapneumonic effusion and empyema are significant causes of morbidity in pediatric pneumonia, driven by an intense pleural inflammatory response. While corticosteroids have been suggested to modulate this inflammation and speed up recovery, evidence regarding their use in pleural complications in children remains limited. This study aims to assess the efficacy of adjunctive corticosteroid therapy in improving clinical outcomes among children hospitalized with parapneumonic effusion or empyema. A systematic search of PubMed, Cochrane Library, and ScienceDirect was conducted from inception to November 2025. Eligible studies included randomized or comparative cohort designs evaluating systemic or intrapleural corticosteroids alongside standard care in pediatric parapneumonic effusion. The primary outcome was length of hospital stay. Three randomized trials were included in the quantitative synthesis, and one observational cohort was analyzed qualitatively. A fixed-effect model was used due to minimal heterogeneity. Among 167 randomized participants, adjunctive corticosteroid therapy significantly reduced hospital stay (mean difference –2.96 days; 95% CI –4.57 to –1.36). Qualitative analysis showed consistent improvements in fever resolution, radiologic recovery, and inflammatory markers, especially when corticosteroids were given early. The observational cohort with delayed rescue steroids showed no improvement, emphasizing the importance of timing. These findings support early corticosteroid use, consistent with the pathophysiology of pleural inflammation. While variations in steroid regimens and sample sizes should be considered, the consistent benefits strengthen the evidence. Early corticosteroid therapy accelerates recovery and shortens hospitalization in pediatric parapneumonic effusion or empyema, making it a safe and effective complement to standard care.
