Abstract

Digital transformation has driven significant changes in the financial and entrepreneurial sectors, making digital financial literacy and the effective utilization of technology fundamental needs for the younger generation. This community service activity aims to strengthen digital financial literacy through the use of financial technology (fintech) and develop marketplace-based entrepreneurship as an effort to empower members of the Mataram City Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM). The activity employed a participatory action research approach, which was implemented through the stages of needs analysis, training, mentoring, business implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The activity involved 120 IMM members with interests in and startups related to the creative economy. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' digital financial literacy scores of more than 30 percent, an increase in the use of digital financial recording applications in their businesses, and a rise in the number of active online stores on national marketplaces. Furthermore, the establishment of the Mataram City IMM collective marketplace is a strategic outcome that supports the institutional sustainability of the members' businesses. This activity demonstrates that integrating digital financial literacy, fintech adoption, and marketplace-based entrepreneurship is effective in increasing the economic capacity of members and building sustainable economic independence. This community service program is expected to become a practical and replicable empowerment model for student organizations and other youth communities in navigating the dynamics of the digital economy

Abstract

This study aims to develop a comprehensive synthesis of the dynamics of social identity and economic values in Sasak traditional wedding dowry practices, with a focus on the role of the Baiq and Lalu clans in shaping social expectations and increasing dowry values. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study examines literature indexed in Scopus, Google Scholar, and DOAJ for the period 2018–2025. The results indicate that dowry is a multidimensional construct that reflects complex interactions between cultural, social, and economic aspects, and plays a significant role in reinforcing social hierarchy through status symbols and cultural identity. The findings also indicate that most research is descriptive and has not systematically integrated cross-disciplinary approaches, leaving a gap in understanding the transformation of dowry values amidst the currents of modernization. This study recommends three directions for further research: reinterpreting dowry values by the younger generation, developing a dowry model based on social and economic justice, and examining the impact of cultural commercialization on the sanctity of customary practices. The theoretical and practical implications of this study are expected to enhance the understanding of local culture and support adaptive social policy reform grounded in traditional values.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism development often prioritizes economic growth and environmental protection while giving limited attention to social inclusion and community empowerment. This study explores the transformation of tourism governance in North Lombok Regency, Indonesia, following the 2018 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic, through a Beyond Sustainability lens informed by Community-Based Tourism (CBT). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, policy documents and tourism performance data were analyzed through content analysis and social network analysis to examine collaboration among government, community groups, academics, and the private sector. The findings indicate a clear shift from an economy-centered model toward inclusive, community-driven tourism governance. Local government plays a facilitative role by strengthening tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis), supporting the creative economy, advancing digital promotion, and implementing green tourism policies. Tourism arrivals increased by 113% within two years, local revenue rose by 46%, and tourism villages expanded from five to eight. Network analysis reveals a density of 0.62, with the Senaru Tourism Office and Pokdarwis showing the highest centrality. These results demonstrate that institutionalized multi-actor collaboration and community empowerment provide a transferable policy framework for post-disaster and emerging tourism regions.
