Abstract

The development of livestock sub-sector is one of the strategic choices in supporting the national economy. Technological innovation plays a very big role in efforts to increase productivity and food production, especially livestock. Livestock groups are a good way to apply innovation to breeders. Institutional livestock is expected to be a means to increase technology adoption. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the adoption of technology in dairy goat breeders. This research was conducted in Lembah Meru, Jember in August-September 2016, using descriptive method of case study. The results showed that internal factors such as age, educational level, farming experience, number of family members, livelihood, income level, motivation, and number of livestock ownership have no significant effect on technology adoption rate. Factors of age, education level, number of family members, and type of livelihood have a positive value on the rate of technology adoption. The capability of breeders in managing innovation shows high yields such as: (1) adaptability with innovation; (2) the ability to refine innovation; (3) the ability of commitment to innovation; (4) the ability to implement innovation; And (5) the ability to manage the available resources.

Abstract

Probiotik berbasis Mikroorganisme Lokal (MOL) dari rumen sapi dan usus ayam telah dibuat dan diteliti dampaknya terhadap kualitas karkas boiler jika digunakan sebagai pengganti Antibioic Growth Promotor (AGP). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh pemberian probiotik MOL terhadap kualitas karkas broiler. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juli sampai Agustus 2018 terhadap 200 ekor broiler tanpa dibedakan jenis kelaminnya. Aplikasi probiotik dilakukan dengan mencampurnya pada ransum yang diberikan sejak umur 1 sampai 35 hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap pola searah dengan empat perlakuan yaitu; P0 (Pakan BR 1 tanpa probiotik), P1 (Pakan BR 1 + probiotik dengan dosis 5 ml/Kg), P2 (Pakan Pakan BR 1 + probiotik dengan dosis 10 ml/Kg), P3 (Pakan Pakan BR 1 + probiotik dengan dosis 15 ml/Kg), masing-masing perlakuan diulang 5 kali. Parameter yang diamati meliputi; persentase karkas, persentase lemak abdominal dan persentase lemak visceral. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan probiotik berbasis MOL mengandung bakteri Bifidobacterium 3,5 x 107 CFU/ml, Bacillus 0,9 x 106 CFU/ml, Streptococcus 1,06 x 106 CFU/ml, dan Lactobacillus 12,5 x 107 CFU/ml, setelah diaplikasikan dalam penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan probiotik MOL pada pakan BR 1 tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05) tehadap persentase karkas, lemak abdominal dan visceral broiler dibandingkan dengan persentase karkas, lemak abdominal dan visceral broiler tanpa diberi probiotik, demikian juga diantara pesentase karkas, lemak abdominal dan visceral broiler yang diberi probiotik pada level yang berbeda tidak menunjukkan persentase yang berbeda nyata (P>0.05), dengan demikian MOL dapat diberikan pada broiler karena presentase karkas yang diperoleh masih dalam kisaran normal yaitu 72,02-73,63%, persentase lemak abdominal antara 1,54% - 1,85%, dan persentase lemak visceral 0,45% - 0,68%.Keywords : Probiotik, AGP, Rumen, Usus ayam, daging

Abstract

Na-oogst tobacco commodity is an export commodity that has a role in increasing national income through excise tax. Many factors can influence the decision of farmers to conduct tobacco cultivation in the midst of enormous pressure on tobacco products. This study aims to analyze  the economic dimension sustainability of the na-oogst tobacco business in Jember. The metodology used is Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) to analyze sustainability by using 10 atributs. The results of the analysis of the economic dimension show that the na-oogst tobacco business in Jember is categorized as "quite sustainable" with a value of 51,17. The factor that greatly affect the sustainability of the economic dimension and need to be considered is Price Stability with an attribute effect value of 6.77.

Abstract

Qurban merupakan salah satu ibadah yang wajib dilakukan umat muslim yang memenuhi ketentuan syariat Islam dan dilaksanakan setiap tahun pada hari raya Idul Adha. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pemahaman terhadap pemotongan hewan kurban yang dilakukan sesuai syariat Islam dan berbasis prinsip aman, sehat, utuh, dan halal (ASUH). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Tegalgede, Kecamatan Sumbersari, Kabupaten Jember. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri atas tiga tahap: observasi dan persiapan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Penyuluhan dan praktik pembaringan hewan qurban dilaksanakan sebelum Idul Adha, selanjutnya pada saat Idul Adha dilakukan praktik penyembelihan hewan qurban yang meliputi kegiatan antemortem, pembaringan, penyembelihan, pemeriksaan postmortem, dan pengkarkasan. Selanjutnya dilakukan evaluasi dan diskusi untuk memperoleh informasi pemahaman dan ketrampilan masyarakat terhadap kegiatan yang telah dilakukan.  Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan pre test dan post test, didapatkan hasil peningkatan setiap aspek indikator dan diperoleh rerata hasil penilaian dari 51.65 menjadi 84.82. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat bahwa masyarakat Desa Tegalgede, Kecamatan Sumbersari, Kabupaten Jember sudah memperoleh pemahaman dan memperoleh keterampilan praktik pelaksanaan penyembelihan hewan qurban yang sesuai syariat Islam dan berbasis aman, sehat, utuh, dan halal.

Abstract

Bondowoso is one of the coffee planting centers in East Java with special taste (specialties) Java Coffee. The local government gives fully support to create quality processed products that can increase revenue and sales volume of ground coffee that still under ‘ose coffee’ sales. It needs study of the competitiveness of Bondowoso processed ground coffee ‘java coffee’ specialties products to assess whether the business is feasible to be developed economically or not.  This study used Analysis method using Policy Analysis Matrix. For an alternative marketing strategy used an Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) matrix, External Factor Evaluation (EFE Internal-External (IE) and SWOT, priority marketing strategy with Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The purposes of research are: 1) Knowing the competitiveness of ground coffee java coffee UD. Nuri, 2) Determining the right strategy to improve the competitiveness of ground coffee java coffee UD.Nuri. The data analysis methods used was IFE and EFE Matrices. Alternative business development strategy used IE and SWOT matrices, for business development strategy priority used AHP. Ground coffee java coffee has a comparative advantage and competitive with coefficient DRC = 0.052 and PCR = 0.489. Ground coffee java coffee agribusiness position is in quadrant I, the right strategy to improve the ground coffee UD. Nuri Bondowoso is conducting an effective promotion through social media (digital marketing).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding banana weevil flour enriched with ?-glucan fiber from Saccharomyces cerevisiae to feed on the physical quality of broiler meat. The research method used a completely randomized design and analysis of variance, this study used 200 DOC consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. Each replication contains 10 chickens. The level of ?-glucan administration from Saccharomyces cerevisiae with banana weevil flour was P0 (control); P1 (25 ppm); P2 (50 ppm); P3 (75 ppm); and P4 (100 ppm). The treatment started from 16 to 37 days old. Physical quality test was carried out with thigh meat samples. Physical quality test data were analyzed by analysis of variance and if there was a significantly different (P<0.05), it was further tested with Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results of the physical quality test on broiler chicken meat showed that the addition of banana weevil flour enriched with ?-glucan fiber from Saccharomyces cerevisiae in the feed on the physical quality of broiler meat was not significantly different (P?0.05) on the pH value, water holding capacity, reduced cooking and tenderness. The results of the study concluded that the addition of banana weevil flour enriched with ?-glucan fiber from Saccharomyces cerevisiae in feed on the physical quality of broiler meat did not affect the physical quality of broiler meat.

Abstract

The background of the study is that broilers have high levels of fat and cholesterol in the body, which reduces the quality of the carcass. One way to improve this is by adding feed additive β-glucan. This study aims to evaluate the addition of banana tuber flour containing Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a source of β-glucan fiber in feed on broiler carcass quality. The method used was a completely randomized design consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications, each treatment unit contained 10 chickens, making a total of 200 chickens raised for 37 days. β-glucan in feed was given at levels of 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 ppm. Drinking water was given ad libitum, while feed was given using manufactured feed. Treatment was given at the age of 16 to 37 days. Parameters measured included live weight and carcass, and percentage of carcass and ab-dominal fat. Data were analyzed using ANOVA. The results revealed that banana tuber flour enriched with Saccharomyces cerevisiae as β-glucan fiber in feed significantly (P<0.05) increased live weight and body weight, but did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on carcass percentage and abdominal fat. In conclusion, banana tuber flour enriched with Saccharomyces cerevisiae as β-glucan fiber in feed can increase live weight and body weight of broilers best at a concentration of 25 ppm

Abstract

Susu kambing Etawa Senduro merupakan salah satu produk peternakan unggulan peternakan Goatzilla Farm (mitra) yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Lumajang, Jawa Timur. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra antara lain, kurangnya pengenalan dan edukasi masyarakat, minimnya diversifikasi produk, keterbatasan akses ke pasar yang lebih luas, keterbatasan promosi dan branding, persaingan dengan produk susu lain, dan kendala produksi beserta kualitas. Metode pengadian ini menggunakan metode partisipatif yaitu dengan pendekatan kelompok dan meningkatkan partisipatif sasaran. Melalui kegiatan ini, mitra mampu memproduksi susu bubuk kambing senduro, dengan strategi yang inovatif yaitu dengan kerjasama industri, sehingga juga dapat menjadi solusi keterbatasan biaya dalam mendirikan pabrik susu bubuk beserta perijinan BPOM bagi UMKM. Hasil luaran kegiatan ini ialah Goatzilla Farm telah mampu menghasilkan produk susu bubuk dengan cara kerjasama dengan industri pengolah susu bubuk yang telah memiliki ijin BPOM. Cara ini mampu meningkatkan potensi yang dimiliki agar memiliki produk yang siap edar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan minyak ikan mujair dan fitobiotik ekstrak buah mengkudu melalui media pakan terhadap kualitas fisik telur Itik Mojosari. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Gebang Langkap, Kecamatan Panti, Kabupaten Jember selama 28 hari dengan menggunakan itik petelur sebanyak 80 ekor itik Mojosari, dengan penelitian Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) masing-masing ulangan terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan pertama yaitu P0 = tanpa adanya penambahan ekstrak buah mengkudu dan minyak ikan (kontrol), P1 = dengan penambahan ekstrak buah mengkudu dan minyak ikan masing-masing 0,5%; P2 = 0,75% dan P3 = 1%. Parameter dalam penelitian ini adalah berat telur, indeks telur, Haugh Unit (HU), dan ketebalan kerabang. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan RAL dan apabila terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dilakukan uji lanjut dengan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) dengan taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi minyak ikan mujair dan ekstrak buah mengkudu tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kualitas fisik telur itik Mojosari yang meliputi berat telur, indeks telur, haugh unit, dan ketebalan kerabang. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan ekstrak buah mengkudu dan minyak ikan mujair melalui media pakan hingga perlakuan 1% menghasilkan nilai fisik telur itik yang sesuai standar meskipun tidak berbeda signifikan dengan perlakuan kontrol terhadap kualitas fisik telur itik.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the extent of the influence of breeder characteristics, extension, partnership institutions on the ability of sheep fattening cultivation which has an impact on the income of sheep breeders (partners) in Bondowoso Regency. This research can be classified as Explanatory Research. The data acquisition method used is a questionnaire which aims to obtain detailed, factual data, facts and information by collecting recap results from respondents' answers by providing a questionnaire. The data analysis method used in this research is the Path Analysis Model. The results of this research show that breeder characteristics, sheep cultivation extension and partnership institutions have a significant effect on the ability to fatten sheep cultivation and have a significant impact on the income of breeders (partners) in Bondowoso Regency.
