Abstract

Flooding and changes in riverbed morphology often become issues near river confluences, as observed at the confluence of Citarum Hilir and Cibeet Rivers. This study aims to analyze the cross-sectional capacity and riverbed changes around the confluence of Citarum Hilir and Cibeet Rivers. This study utilizes 1D numerical modeling MIKE 11 with Hydrodynamic and Sediment Transport Modules. The hydrodynamic modeling inputs are river network and cross-sectional profiles. Hydrographs with return periods of 2, 5, 10, and 25 years are used as upstream boundaries, and a discharge curve is used as the downstream boundary of the model. The model is calibrated using water surface elevation measurements taken from September 13-16, 2021. The hydrodynamic modeling results indicate that Citarum Hilir and Cibeet Rivers cannot convey flood discharges with a 2-year return period. The sediment transport modeling results show no significant changes in the riverbed of Citarum Hilir before the confluence, but degradation of approximately 0.38 – 0.46 meters occurs after the confluence. Degradation happens in zones of maximum velocity where flow turbulence and shear stress increase, causing erosion of the Citarum Hilir riverbed. Degradation also occurs near the Cibeet River confluence due to flow acceleration at the outer bend of the river. Flooding and sediment transport are natural factors that can alter the morphology of river confluences, such as the confluence of Citarum Hilir and Cibeet Rivers.Keywords:  Citarum river, Cibeet river, river confluence, hydrodinamic modeling, sedimen transport modeling

Abstract

There is no doubt that El Niño and La Niña phenomena, which are characterized by sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, have significant impacts on global and regional climate. The Oceanic Niño Index (ONI), obtained from NOAA satellite imagery, is used to measure these SST anomalies. El Niño is characterized by an increase in sea surface temperature of more than 0.5°C above normal, while La Niña is characterized by a decrease in sea surface temperature of more than 0.5°C below normal. The strength of the anomaly determines whether the phenomenon is weak, moderate, strong, or very strong. El Niño and La Niña events cause various hydrometeorological disasters that directly impact rainfall and water availability. The Indonesian Maritime Continent, located between oceans, is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of these two phenomena. El Niño causes drought, while a positive ONI increases the intensity of rainfall. These phenomena have the potential to reduce rainfall, disrupt water supply, and exacerbate droughts by changing global weather patterns. This study will identify the impacts of El Niño events on rainfall and water availability in the West Tarum Canal, which covers Karawang, Bekasi, and parts of Jakarta. By understanding these impacts, we can develop effective adaptation strategies. A literature review will provide a comprehensive picture of rainfall and water availability in the era of climate change by analyzing data from previous studies.

Abstract

 The Citanduy watershed service area, which is located in Cilacap Regency, Ciamis Regency, Pangandaran Regency and Banjar City, is currently experiencing an increase in population growth, residential facilities, and the number of immigrants, so that the demand for raw water in these areas is increasing. On the other hand, the availability of water in the area is decreasing, so it is necessary to study potential sources of raw water to determine the solutions to be taken in order to meet the demand for raw water supply and develop potential water resources in the study area. The purpose of this study is to simulate water allocation using the WEAP (Water Evaluation And Planning) software in the Citanduy watershed area. In the data analysis section, two water balance simulation scenarios were created based on the various suggestions to be recommended for developing the potential of water resources in the study area. From the two scenarios that were implemented, a recommendation emerged to build a new irrigation area of 18.800 ha, the Leuwikeris Reservoir with a volume of 69,56 million m3 and the Matenggeng Reservoir with a volume of 500 million m3. With the plan to meet these water needs, it is necessary to conduct a feasibility study of water allocation in order to find out how technically feasible both the Citanduy River and the Leuwikeris Dam are in meeting the water needs as previously planned. Given the strategic location of West Java and Central Java Provinces and the many irrigation areas located within them, the need for and demand for water services will continue to increase over time.Keywords : simulation of water allocation, Citanduy watershed, Leuwikeris reservoir, Matenggeng reservoir.

Abstract

The Tumpeng Robyong tradition is a manifestation of local wisdom preserved by the people of Beji Lor Village as a traditional ritual and expression of socio-cultural life. This tradition not only conveys gratitude for sustenance and safety but also philosophical values, cultural symbols, and social functions that strengthen relationships among residents. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive phenomenological method to explore the meaning and social function of the Tumpeng Robyong tradition from the perspective of its key participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, community leaders, and residents involved in the ritual, supported by participant observation and visual documentation. The findings show that Tumpeng Robyong is a symbol of harmony between humans, nature, and God, as well as a medium for transmitting mutual cooperation, gratitude, solidarity, and cultural identity. This tradition plays a crucial role in maintaining social cohesion and the continuity of local wisdom amidst the challenges of modernization.

Abstract

Bemisia tabaci is a major pest of soybeans and a vector of plant viruses. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy of four entomopathogenic fungi for suppressing B. tabaci populations on soybeans. The four treatments were L. lecanii, A. aleyrodis, M. anisopliae, and B. bassiana, a comparison with the insecticide thiamethoxam and a control group without treatment. The four types tested were able to suppress B. tabaci populations by up to 75%, with A. aleyrodis being especially effective. There was no significant difference in efficacy between the four types and the insecticide thiamethoxam. Validating the efficacy of entomopathogenic fungi, there were no significant differences in plant height, dry stover weight, or number of pods between treatments with the insecticide thiamethoxam. However, significant differences occurred in the number of empty pods and seed weight, reducing yield losses by up to 78%. There was a positive correlation between the B. tabaci population and the number of empty pods (r = 0.80), while there was a negative correlation between the B. tabaci population and plant height and soybean yield (r = -0.56 and r = -0.54, respectively).

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan hal yang prioritas di Indonesia, sejalan dengan tujuan nasional Indonesia dan SDGs poin 4. Tujuan tersebut bisa tercapai salah satunya dengan mewujudkan pembelajaran yang efektif. Pembelajaran efektif pasti didukung oleh lingkungan belajar, baik itu lingkungan belajar keluarga, sekolah, maupun masyarakat. Kenyataan di lapangan, khususnya kelas VII SMPN 7 Kota Semarang, peserta didik masih rendah dalam mengelola lingkungan belajar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu: 1) Mengidentifikasi kemampuan adaptability lingkungan belajar dalam Pembelajaran IPS yang sudah diterapkan oleh peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 7 Kota Semarang; 2) Menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi adaptability lingkungan belajar dalam Pembelajaran IPS pada peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 7 Kota Semarang. Jenis penelitian berupa penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, terdiri dari subjek penelitian Guru IPS, peserta didik, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum dan kepala sekolah SMPN 7 Kota Semarang. Data diperoleh dengan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, yang dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian kemampuan adaptability menunjukkan variasi pada kematangan intelektual, emosional, sosial dan tanggungjawab. Kemampuan adaptasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS di SMPN 7 Kota Semarang menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kematangan emosional, intelektual, sosial, dan tanggung jawab yang baik cenderung memiliki tingkat adaptability tinggi. Faktor yang mempengaruhi ada dari peserta didik, maupun faktor lingkungan belajar. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan adaptasi seluruh siswa, diperlukan sinergi antara guru, sekolah, orang tua, dan lingkungan sosial dalam menciptakan ekosistem pembelajaran yang mendukung, inklusif, serta mendorong perkembangan kognitif dan afektif peserta didik.

Abstract

Anthracnose disease (Colletotrichum spp.) in chili can lead to low fruit quantity and quality from planting to the postharvest stage. The environmentally friendly management using chitosan (CS) is expected to suppress anthracnose disease and increase the shelf-life of chili. This study aimed to determine the effect of the chitosan-tripolyphosphate (CS-TPP) to suppress anthracnose on chili during postharvest storage through in-vitro and in-vivo assays. In the in-vitro assay, CS-TPP solution with a ratio of [5:2] and [3:1] was applied into a warm Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium. It was grown by Colletotrichum pathogen, while on in vivo assay, CS-TPP was applied to chili fruit before being inoculated by the pathogen. A control treatment was prepared without CS-TPP application. Results revealed that the CS-TPP ratios affected the growth of Colletotrichum spp. at the in-vitro assay. The CS-TPP [5:2] ratio was more effective than CS-TPP [3:1] in reducing the growth of Colletotrichum spp. with the fungal inhibition of 62,65% and 55,56%, respectively, compared to the control treatment. Moreover, it also showed anthracnose disease suppression on chili fruit of 51%, and 29%, respectively, compared to control treatment at in-vivo assay. This study showed the potential use of CS-TPP as a coating application for anthracnose disease management on storage chili, however further study such as viability and longevity of formula need to be done.
