Abstract

 Abstract Environmental pollution that can cause atmospheric corrosion is the exhaust gas (exhaust fumes) generated from operating the palm oil industry. This atmospheric corrosion will reduce the volume and material mass of a machine component, so that if it reaches certain conditions the strength of the material will result in failure of industrial machine components. The corrosion rate of the construction steel can be measured using the weight loss method according to the ASTM G-50 standard and the ASTM G-1 standard. The research was conducted for one year and data collection was taken every month, the research location was at PT Agro Sinergi Nusantara Batee Puteh. The results of the study, the highest corrosion rate occurred in strip steel reaching 0.57 mpy in October and the lowest corrosion rate occurred for angled steel in September and cylindrical steel in May with a corrosion rate of 0.06 mpy. Keywords— atmospheric corrosion, ASTM G-50, ASTM G-1, PT. Abstract

The spread of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak in all parts of the world is increasing, including in Indonesia, a virus that is easily transmitted and spreads through close contact and droplets by touching hands with other people or with objects that have been exposed to COVID-19, one of the reasons for this, reventing the spread of COVID 19 by washing hands frequently with soap. Hand washing tools have been developed, generally still using direct touch to the water tap and soap dish, the Touchless Hand Washer (THW) touchless hand washing tool is specially designed and manufactured in accordance with the COVID-19 pandemic conditions without touching with hands directly on the water tap and a soap holder with a footrest system, making it more practical, hygienic and not directly contaminated with previous Touchless Hand Washer users which could cause COVID-19 transmission from previous users. Touchless Hand Washer (THW) is designed with a pyramid-shaped frame that will support the water toren that does not harm or the water toren falls for Touchless Hand Washe users, with a THW tool height of 120 cm, top width 70 x 70 cm and bottom width of 90 x 90 cm. Keywords—Hand-washing tool, COVID-19, washing hands, touchless hand washer

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisa tingkat getaran dan kebisingan pada Equipment Vibrating screen crusher FC 02 pada PT. MIFA Bersaudara. Getaran diukur dengan menggunakan alat vibration meter, kebisingan diukur dengan sound level meter dengan tipe digital. Pengukuran dilakukan pada sumbu x,y dan z pada setiap titik pengukuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai tingkat getaran pada vibrating screen crusher FC 02 pada sumbu x dengan nilai velocity 28,56 mm/s, sumbu y nilai 29,82 mm/s dan sumbu z nilai velocity 25,46 mm/s. Sedangkan nilai Acceleration pada sumbu x sebesar 20,7 m/s2 nilai 30,86 m/s2 pada sumbu y dan z sebesar 21,42 m/s2. Sedangkan nilai kebisingan menujukan bahwa nilai rata-rata pada sisi kanan menujukan sebesar 99,6 dBA pada sisi kanan dan pada sisi kiri sebesar 101,7 dBA. Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah yaitu dengan cara tidak mengoperasikan vibrating screen crusher FC 02 melebihi batas maksimum yang di anjurkan 60 dBA dan maksimum yang diperbolehkan yaitu 70 dBA sehingga dapat mencegah terjadinya permasalahan kenyamanan, kesehatan, dan keselamatan kerja. Operator berserta karyawan disarankan berada dilokasi tersebut tidak lebih dari 15-30 menit, jika lebih dari waktu tersebut harus menggunakan earmuff safety.

Abstract

Nowadays, there are many tools for processing coconut milk, such as grater machines, hydraulic coconut squeezing machines and others, but they are large in size and less efficient for daily use. The purpose of this research is to redesign an ordinary blender to become a coconut milk production blender and to manufacture an ordinary blender to become a coconut milk production blender and to do the testing. The designs that are carried out are the components of the blender mechanism, the grate, and the inner tube. Modifying an ordinary blender into a coconut milk blender by adding an inner tube and drawing it with AutoCAD 2007. After testing the grated and squeezed coconut blender it went well with the grated yield obtained of 1.15 kg from 5 coconuts and the yield of coconut milk obtained during the test was 1.66 liters from 5 coconuts.

Abstract

The development of coconut processing technology to produce coconut milk for small and medium industry until now still uses a separate processing machine between coconut grating and coconut squeezing, so it is considered ineffective and less efficient. Therefore, previous studies aimed at improving the performance of coconut processing machines into coconut milk, have been carried out with the design of coconut milk producing machines that are integrated between the coconut grating process and the coconut milk squeezing process utilizing centrifugal force. Research aims to manufacture, a functional test of the machine components, and a calculation of the production cost per unit of the machine. The results showed that the coconut milk production machine has a power of 0.75 Kw, a maximum shaft rotation of 2850 rpm and an engine dimension of 600 x 600 x 1200 mm. The capacity of coconut milk production machines is 10 liters per hour, visual test results show that coconut milk production machines can function well at 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm, 2000 rpm and 2500 rpm. The total production cost for a unit of centrifugal coconut milk production machine with a production capacity of 10 liters per hour is Rp. 4,760,000.

Abstract

In today's digital age, information advancement has become critical for society's well-being. Misinformation, when disseminated, can have negative impacts and even turn into a disaster for the public. Therefore, it is crucial for reporters and journalists in the media to possess the intelligence to conduct research, analyze, interpret, and deconstruct from a journalistic perspective. This will enable aspiring reporters to effectively utilize media (tools) such as print, electronic, and internet to meet human needs, particularly when navigating the challenges of new media. Therefore, the goal of this training program for aspiring reporters is to equip communication science students with the skills necessary to become creative and innovative writers who can effectively convey information to the public. The benefits of this training are to produce individual reporters who are capable of providing sharp and critical arguments regarding news and able to absorb information from various public channels. A critical attitude towards issues and emerging problems is needed, handled with wisdom and prudence, not easily swayed by negative opinions. The goal is for aspiring reporters to gain a clear understanding of ideas and concepts through precise, thorough writing, and to possess a brilliant conscience towards the perspective of events. This training utilizes lecture and question-answer methods. As a result, aspiring reporters can generate and convey high-quality writing that conveys information or news about the atmosphere or conditions of events, enabling platform users (media) to understand rumors and news that reporters format and disseminate to a broader audience.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the causes of the failure of the fastening bolts for the trunnion plate on cement mill unit 1 at PT. X. The research method used is an empirical study consisting of two main phases. The first phase involves identifying the causes of bolt fractures through macroscopic observations to examine the patterns of bolt fractures. The second phase involves analyzing the forces acting on the bolts by calculating the inertial forces generated due to torque tightening, followed by determining the centrifugal forces produced by the ground material and calculating the bending moments affecting the bolts. The results of this research revealed that the main cause of bolt failure is the presence of crack patterns characterized by significant plastic deformation in the bolt body; this type of fracture is categorized as ductile fracture. Analysis of the forces acting on the bolt also revealed that the stress applied to the bolt exceeds its strength capacity. The stress reached 436 MPa, whereas the bolt's strength was only around 330 MPa (yield strength). The findings of this research are expected to serve as initial data for further research that will investigate the metallurgical aspects as a deeper cause of bolt failure.

Abstract

Mesin pneumatic power forging hammer merupakan mesin yang mempermudah pekerjaan para pandai besi dalam membuat parang, pisau dan lain sebagainya. Pada perancangan dan analisa kekuatan rangka mesin pneumatic power forging hammer dilakukan analisa terkait pemilihan model rangka guna mengetahui kekuatan material dalam menahan setiap komponen mesin pneumatic power forging hammer dan menguji daya tampung terhadap variabel pembebanan yang diberikan yaitu 1570 N . Penelitian ini menggunakan software Analisa Numerik yang dilengkapi dengan metode finite element analysis (FEA). Dari hasil analisa simulasi dipilihlah Material Profil U  berukuran 40 x 20 mm sebagai rangka utama yang kemudian disimulasikan dengan variasi pembebanan maksimal yaitu 1570 N. Hasil analisis simulasi rangka adalah von misses stress max 17,42mpa, min 0mpa, displascement max 0,2343mm, min 0mm, safety factor max oul, max 15 ul.Kata kunci:  mesin pneumatic power forging hammer, analisa kekuatan rangka, Analisa Numerik.

Abstract

The finned drive wheel technology is widely used for wet rice fields. Currently, finned drive wheels for peat fields have not been developed and still use traditional agricultural tools such as hoes and sickles, while the finned drive wheels for wet rice fields are not yet able to work optimally on peat rice fields. The driving wheel model and testing in peat rice fields were carried out in this research. Design and manufacturing were carried out by referring to previous research literature. This initial research was carried out in wet rice fields on open-close finned drive wheels and standard finned wheels, with the aim of measuring the comparative level of performance of the two wheel models. The wheel performance measured is sinkage and wheel rotational speed. The research produced two models of driving wheels, namely the standard fin type with a driving wheel diameter of 35 cm and a number of 8 fins and the open-close fin type producing a driving wheel diameter of 40 cm with 4 arcuate fins on the top surface of the driving wheel. Standard fin type drive wheels have smaller sinkage (11% on average) compared to open-close fin type wheels. The finned drive wheel with the open-close type has an average speed level that is 27.7% higher when compared to the standard finned type.Keywords – wheel drive, standard fins, open-close fins, sinkage, wheel speed

Abstract

Pabrik Kelapa Sawit (PKS) Batee Puteh, PT Agro Sinergi Nusantara merupakan pabrik yang memproduksi Crude Pulm Oil (CPO). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada lingkungan kerja fisik di stasiun kamar mesin. Ada 11 stasiun pada pabrik kelapa sawit, namun tingkat kebisingan yang paling tidak normal terdapat pada stasiun kamar mesin. Rata-rata tingkat kebisingan pada stasiun kamar mesin mencapai 92,9dBA. Tingkat kebisingan disebabkan oleh turbin, main switch distribution board (PANEL), Back Pressure Vassel (BPV) yang bekerja pada stasiun kamar mesin. Titik pengukuran dipetakan hingga terdapat 3 titik pengukuran yang berjarak 2 meter setiap titiknya. Setiap titik pengukuran akan dilakukan pengukuran dan dihitung dengan menggunakan metode ekuivalen. Hasil dari perhitungan tingkat kebisingan pada 3 titik pengukuran dinyatakan tidak baik, dikarenakan seluruh titik pengukuran melewati nilai ambang batas. Tingkat kebisingan pada stasiun kamar mesin perlu dilakukan reduksi. Perusahaan harus memperhatikan seluruh operator pada statsiun kamar mesin dalam hal menggunakan alat pelindung diri dan melakukan check kesehatan pendengaran operator secara rutin, sehingga pekerja terhindar dari cedera serius yang nantinya bisa terjadi
