Abstract

This research aims to find out Javanese form and its relationship between locutor and interlocutor. This research is qualitative in nature. The location of this research is in the Surakarta Hadiningrat palace. The language variation used in this research is daily activity and official palace ceremonies. The data are derived from the verbal interaction among society of kraton in formal and informal situation. The data were collected by recording, observing, interviewing technique. The analysis data used Hymes, ethnography method communication. The result of the research shows that the Javanese forms consists of ngoko, madya, krama, krama inggil, kedhaton and even Indonesian. Related to the relation between locator and interlocutor, the form of Javanese affected by the horizontal and vertical relation accordance with social status in the palace. The pattern of using ngoko, madya, krama has changed, moreover when Indonesian has been their repertoire.

Abstract

Madurese language as a cultural heritage is now rarely used due to modernization, especially by the younger generation. This makes learning Madurese in elementary schools an important step for its preservation, one of which is by studying the language. This research aims to find out how often prefixes are used in class IV Madurese textbooks and analyze their grammatical functions. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data in this research is a corpus of Madurese text data taken from Madurese language textbook class IV. The data is processed using Antconc application to find the most frequently used prefixes in the data. The result shows that there are 686 prefixes with {a-}, {ka'-}, {è-}, {ng-}, {ka-}, and {pa-} as the most frequently used prefixes. These prefixes function to form verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. The results of this study show that textbooks play an important role in preserving the Madurese language while helping students learn the language better.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to describe code choice and code mixing in the interaction of learning English in Agriculture Faculty University of Trunojoyo Madura.  The reseach data included the code switching and code mixing of Agriculture students when learning English in the classroom. The data analysis use a contextual approach of Speaking by Dell Hymes. The result of the research showed that code switching used by the students in the Faculty of Agriculture, namely English and Indonesia, switching codes from English into Indonesia and vice versa, meanwhile code mixing from English into Inonesia, and mixed Indonesia into Javanese, mixed Javanese into English.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to describe the code choide of female santri in the religiosity domain.  This  research was conducted at Assalaam Islamic Modern Boarding School and Islam Al-Mukmin Boarding School of Ngruki, Sukoharjo Regency. Its data were speech between female santri and female santri, speech between female santri and female teachers (ustazah)/male teachers (ustaz) in the religiosity domains. They were collected through observation, recording, listening, note-taking, and in-depth interview. The result of the research find out that there was a tendency that Indonesian code was chosen as the main media of communication while the other speech codes were used for interethnic communication. In religiosity domain, the codes used were Indonesian, code switching from Indonesian to Arabic, and English. Indonesiaan is the most code used by people in the religiosity domain.Keywords: code choice, santri, religiosity domain.Abstrak: Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pilihan kode santri wanita dalam ranah keagaman. Penelitian ini mengambil lokasi di Pesantren Modern Islam Assalaam dan Pesantren Islam Al-Mukmin Ngruki di Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Data yang terkumpul dalam penelitian ini merupakan tuturan santri dan santri, santri dan ustazah/ustaz dalam domain keagamaan di lingkungan Pesantren Modern Islam Assalaam dan Pesantren Islam Al-Mukmin Ngruki. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu teknik observasi, rekam, simak, catat, dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ranah keagamaan ditemukan pola pilihan kode yaitu bahasa Indonesia (BI), alih kode dari bahasa Indonesia ke dalam bahasa Arab, bahasa Inggris. Kode tutur yang paling sering digunakan dalam ranah keagamaan yaitu bahasa Indonesia.Kata kunci: pilihan kode, santri, ranah keagamaan.
