Abstract

Land and forest fire are the natural disasters that often occur in Indonesian regions, especially Sumatera and Kalimantan. The disasters cause deep impacts to environments and human beings, so it is necessary to conduct mitigation. The research area took place in Central Kalimantan Province. The objective of the research is to applicate the MODIS remote sensing imagery for supporting the land and forest fire mitigation efforts, that is identifying the burned area. The analyzing is done by using methods of NDVI changes before and after land and forest burned periods in 2009. The stages of the research consist of; fire hotspot frequency analyzing, NDVI changes calculation, threshold of NDVI changes establishing, and burned area estimation based on the threshold result. The results of the research show that the burned area in Central Kalimantan can be identified by using MODIS based on NDVI changes. The total numbers of burned area in 2009 are 122.900 hectares, most of them occurred in Pulangpisau, Kapuas, Katingan and Kotawaringin District. The results are needed to be verified in the next further research based on the field survey and or by using the high resolution imageries such as Landsat, SPOT-2 or 4, ALOS, Ikonos or Quickbird.

Abstract

It is necessary to develop the methods of Leaf Area Index (LAI) estimation based on satellite remote sensing data as first step to study the carbon storage and carbon emission which affect to global climate change. Direct measurements of Leaf Area Index in the field are expensive, take a long time, and so inefficient. The application of remote sensing data may gives an appropriate solution for Leaf Area Index estimation by more efficient and effective. Objective of the research is to develop the method of Leaf Area Index estimation by using remote sensing data. The method of Leaf Area Index estimation will be developed by using the reference method taken from back up algorithm of the Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document (ATBD) MOD15. The research will try to develop the model and applicate it for another remote sensing data, especially those of acquired or distributed by Indonesian National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) such as SPOT-2. Results of the research show that the LAI based on MOD 15 has low correlation with the measured LAI, but the measured LAI has good correlation with NDVI from SPOT-2 for forest area.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the distribution of pyroclastic deposits from the eruption volcano by using Pi-SAR2 imagery. The object of research is Gamalama Volcano, located in the city of Ternate in North Maluku Province. Research methods include radiometric calibration Pi-SAR2 to get the value of backscatter intensity sigma naught, calculation of statistical values (mean, standard of deviation and coefficient of correlation between bands) backscatter intensity of sigma naught among pyroclastic deposits and other surface objects, as well as the separation distribution of pyroclastic deposits using thresholding methods. This research concludes that the Pi-SAR2 imagery can be used to identify the distribution of volcanic pyroclastic deposits from the eruption. Concurrent use of polarization HH, VV and HV will give better results than using a single polarization HH and VV. This research suggests further research to be done by applying the method of verification is supported by the use of field data (ground check).

Abstract

Geologically, most of Indonesia is located on subduction zone of the Pacific ring of fire that causes many emerging active volcanoes. The existence of active volcanoes has an implications that the volcanic eruption could occur at any time. This study aims to detect the precursors of volcanic eruption by using parameters NTI (Normalized Thermal Index) derived from MODIS data. Volcanic object selected is Raung Volcano in East Java, where around June to July 2015 showed an increase in volcanic activity and was erupted. Data processing method includes processing of Landsat-8 for the determination of the area of interest (caldera and active crater), MODIS image processing for NTI measurement, and analysis of spatial and temporal patterns of NTI. The results showed that the precursors of a volcanic eruption can be detected from the increasing of the NTI value in the kaldera and its value which relatively higher than in the surrounding area. NTI parameters have proven to have a good ability to distinguish between the kaldera and other objects during eruption period. In case of Raung Volcano, NTI value = 0.06 can be applied as a threshold value for the eruption of this volcano.

Abstract

Masalah kesehatan gigi pada lansia adalah karies gigi dan penyakit periodontal. Penyakit gigi dan mulut masih menjadi persoalan di Indonesia, berdasarkan Survey (SKRT) 2004 (3) tingkat prevalensi karies di Indonesia mencapai 90,05%. Dalam suatu penelitian menyatakan penyakit periodontal dapat meningkatkan risiko stroke lebih dari 50% pada orang berusia 25-54, hal ini disebabakan bakteri pada penyakit periodontal dapat masuk ke dalam pembuluh darah dan mengikuti aliran kapiler-kapiler sampai ke otak.(1).(4)Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah penyakit gigi dan mulut pada lansia yakni dengan melakukan pendekatan dari tenaga kesehatan maupun dokter gigi tentang pentingnya kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Hal ini juga dapat dilakukan dengan pembentukan kader-kader kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang berperan dalam memantau kesehatan gigi lansia dalam kegiatan posyandu lansia (15)  Hasil yang didapat bahwa 16% ( 8 responden) pengetahuan tentang jaringan Periodontal kriteria baik, 30% (15 Responden) pengetahuan tentang jaringan periodontal kriteria sedang dan 54% ( 27 responden ) pengetahuan tentang jaringan periodontal kategori buruk. Hasil dari pemeriksaan jaringan periodontal didapatkan hasil sebagai berikut : sejumlah 2 responden dengan sextan sehat, 4 responden (kategori perdarahan,20 responden kriteria kalkulus, 10 responden kriteria sulkus dangkal dan 12 responden kriteria sulkus dalam.Hasil observasi pengetahuan setelah 2 minggu mendapatkan intervensi yaitu penyuluhan tentang jaringan periodontal pengetahuan mengalami kenaikan dari 16%(8 responden) menjadi 30 responden ( 60%) kriteria baik, kriteria sedang dari 30%(15 responden )menjadi 40%(20 responden)

Abstract

Sungai Napal Jungur merupakan salah satu objek wisata yang yang terletak di Kabupaten Seluma. Beberapa bagian Sungai Napal Jungur mengalami perubahan seperti, pelebaran, penyempitan, serta perubahan kedalaman yang di akibatkan oleh erosi yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas alam dan manusia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik parameter fisis sungai Napal Jungur Seluma. Dalam penelian ini metode yang digunakan adalah pengukuran langsung di lapangan berdasarkan cuaca normal. Dengan titik pengukuran debit sebanyak 12 titik, sedimen dan pengambilan sampel sedimen sebanyak 8 titik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang sudah dilakukan kecepatan arus perlokasi penelitian rata-rata (0,17 m/s - 0,82 m/s). Kecepatan arus rata-rata tertinggi sebesar 1,04 m/s. Debit sungai tertinggi terjadi di titik lokasi 1 yaitu sebesar 3,62 m3/s dan debit sungai terendah terjadi di titik lokasi 4 yaitu sebesar 0,94 m3/s. Sungai Napal Jungur Seluma didominasi oleh pasir sangat kasar dengan diameter 1 mm yang terletak di bagian sisi kanan sungai. Debit sedimen layang tertinggi yaitu 6,615 g/s dan debit sedimen layang terendah yaitu 0,47 g/s. Debit sedimen dasar tertinggi yaitu 75,50 kg/s dan debit sedimen terendah yaitu 19,80 kg/s. Kategori sungai adalah landai, bentuk sungai yaitu sungai berkelok.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: pertama, mengetahui tingkat relevansi Kurikulum kompetensi keahlian Teknik Gambar Bangunan SMKN 3 Yogyakarta dengan kebutuhan dunia industri di DI Yogyakarta. Kedua mengetahui tingkat keterlaksanaan Kurikulum kompetensi keahlian Teknik Gambar Bangunan SMKN 3 Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dari penelitian yaitu industri di DI Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 140 industri dan guru Teknik Gambar Bangunan SMKN 3 Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 9 orang. Sampel untuk industri diambil menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling dengan sampel 35 industri. Untuk guru, semua populasi diambil sebagai sampel. Instrumen untuk industri dan guru menggunakan angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) relevansi antara kurikulum kompetensi keahlian Teknik Gambar Bangunan SMKN 3 Yogyakarta dengan kebutuhan dunia industri dalam kategori sangat relevan; dan (2) keterlaksanaan Kurikulum kompetensi keahlian Teknik Gambar Bangunan SMKN 3 Yogyakarta dalam kategori sangat baik. RELEVANCE OF BUILDING ENGINEERING CURRICULUM SMKN 3 YOGYAKARTA WITH THE NEEDS OF INDUSTRYAbstractThis research has two purposes; first, to determine the level of curriculum relevance of Building Engineering of SMKN 3 Yogyakarta with the needs of industry in the region of Yogyakarta. Second, to determine the level of curriculum feasibility of Building Engineering of SMKN 3 Yogyakarta. This research is a descriptive study. The research population consists of two types, industries engaged in civil construction engineering in DI Yogyakarta, amounting to 140 industries and namely teachers of Building Engineering SMKN 3 Yogyakarta, amounting to 9 people. For industries, samples were taken using a purposive random sampling with a sample of 35 industries. For the teachers, all population was taken as the sample. Instruments for industries and teachers were a questionnaire which was sent directly and via post. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics with the help of Microsoft Excel package.The results show that: (1) the relevance of curriculum competencies building Engineering expertise SMKN 3 Yogyakarta with the needs of industry is in the very relevant category, and (2)curriculum feasibility of building Engineering SMKN 3 Yogyakarta based on Permendiknas number 41 of 2007 on a standard process is in very good category.

Abstract

Permasalahan di negara berkembang banyak berkaitan dengan permasalahan ekonomi. Hal ini juga dirasakan oleh bangsa kita yang mana salah satu penyebabnya adalah minimnya bekal pendidikan dan ketrampilan yang dimiliki oleh generasi muda, sehingga dapat menyebabkan tingginya tingkat pengangguran dan pekerjaan yang tidak sesuai dengan keahlian yang dimiliki. Tujuan dari diadakannya kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan ketrampilan yang dimiliki oleh santri di Pondok Wirausaha Darul Muttaqin Batu. Metode yang dilakukan pada program pengabdian ini adalah dengan memberikan alat pemotong dan peniris tempe kepada mitra agar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan produksinya. Hasil yang didapat dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan dan ketrampilan santri untuk memproduksi tempe menjadi meningkat dan waktu yang diperlukan dalam proses pembuatan produk kripik tempe  menjadi lebih singkat. Tingkat produksi pembuatan keripik tempe yang semula hanya kurang lebih 2 kg, dengan diadakan kegiatan ini bisa mencapai lebih dari 10 kg.

Abstract

Introduction: A microorganism that plays an important role in dental caries is Streptococcus mutans. Dental caries can be prevented by brushing your teeth. The addition of antibacterial to toothpaste can reduce the number of caries-causing bacteria. Some anti-bacterial ingredients commonly added to toothpaste include fluorine, triclosan, and sodium monophosphate.Purpose: In this study, researchers wanted to develop an alternative toothpaste with cinnamon extract as an antibacterial ingredient. This research was conducted to formulate toothpaste with various concentrations of cinnamon extract 5%, 7.5%, and 10% and to determine the optimal concentration that can inhibit the growth of Streptococcus mutants bacteria.Method: The type of research conducted is experimental laboratories with a research design post-test only control group design. The toothpaste formulation is made with the active ingredient cinnamon extract with a concentration of 5%, 7.5%, and 10%. Cinnamon toothpaste was then tested on agar media which already contained Streptococcus mutans cultures. In addition, there is siwak herbal toothpaste as a positive control. Bacterial inhibition was analyzed statistically using the method one-way anova at the 95% confidence levelResults: research shows that cinnamon extract toothpaste with a concentration of 5%, 7.5%, 10%, and control+ has an average resistance of 11.5mm, 12mm, 12.5mm and 13mm. The results of data analysis by testanova show that p<0.05. This shows that there are significant differences in the concentrations of the three cinnamon extracts. After obtaining the results One-Way Anova test significantly continued with the LSD test The results showed that there was no significant difference between the positive control and cinnamon toothpaste with a concentration of 10%, ρ=0.153. This shows that the inhibitory power of 10% cinnamon toothpaste is close to the positive control. This shows that the higher the concentration of cinnamon extract, the more antibacterial and bioactive content.
