Abstract

This study was conducted in March 2017 in the village of Anak Setatah, The District of West Rangsang, The Kepulauan Meranti regency of The Riau Province, aims to determine the abundance and the distribution of kerang darah (Anadara granosa), ingredients organic sediments, and The relationships between sedimentary organic content and abundance of kerang darah (A.granosa). To achieve these objectives it has been done three activities, namely: a) The calculation of the abundance of kerang darah (A.granosa) and measurement of water quality in the intertidal zone of mangrove forests monospesies Avicennia alba. b) Analysis of the distribution of kerang darah (A.granosa) in each zone (c) Analysis of samples of organic material in Marine Chemistry Laboratory of Marine Science Department, and (d) Analysis of sedimentary organic content relationships and abundance of kerang darah (A.granosa). An abundance of kerang darah highest at the lower zone and the lowest at the upper zone. Kerang darah have a clustered distribution patterns. Relations sedimentary organic matter content and the abundance of kerang darah (A.granosa)is positive and very weak. Keywords: Kerang Darah (A.granosa),The Abundance, Distribution,Intertidal, Mangrove and Relationships

Abstract

This research was conducted in April 2017, in the mangrove forest area in the waters of The District Bengkalis Riau Province. The aim ofthis researchis to analyze the structure of mangrove communities and to know the condition of the environmental parameters. The method used in is the transect plot line method. The data obtained were analyzed for density, relative density, relative frequency, dominance and important value index. The results showed that the community of mangrove forest in the village of Kuala Alam consists of Avicennia lanata, Bruguiera cylindrica, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Rhizopora apiculata and Nypa fructicans. Rhizopora apiculata dominate in station I, II and III. This marked the highest value at all levels. The index value of diversity (H ') ranged from 1.0979 - 1.6974, shows that in this study area the level of medium diversity and mangrove conditions of this area is still quite good. The value of the dominance index (C) ranges from 0.35088 - 0.55120, indicates no individual dominant. Keywords: Mangrove Structure, Kuala Alam.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Bivalve is benthic animal that lives on the bottom and surface of aquatic substrate. The community structure of bivalves is influenced by the changes in environmental factors. This research was conducted in July-August 2018 in the coastal waters of Nagalawan Village, Perbaungan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatera Province. The aims of the research were to determine the structure of the bivalve community which includes species, abundance, relative abundance, diversity index, uniformity index, dominance index and distribution patterns. Sampling used the line transect method at 3 stations. The results of the study found 9 bivalve families consisting of 11 species. The abundance value obtained was in the range of 4.22-7.30 ind./m2. Diversity index values ranged from 1.21-1.6, which are classified as moderate, while the uniformity index value ranges from 0.18-0.26 which is unbalanced. The dominance index value ranged from 0.38-0.5, i.e there are species that dominate. The distribution pattern values ranged from 3.03-3.07 with clustered distribution patterns. Keywords: Bivalves, Community Structure, Nagalawan Village

Abstract

Abstract             Cerithidea quoyii clam is agastropod living in mangrove ecosystem, and knownasprotein source for Rupat people. This research was conducted in July 2018.The purpose of the study was to determine the population density and distribution patterns of C. quoyii in the mangrove forest of Cingam River, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The method used in this study was the survey method. The the research station was determined by purposive sampling method. The results showed that water quality parameters supported the life of C. quoyii, in which water temperatures ranged from 29 - 30°C, salinity ranged from 29-30 ppt, the pH value of the water was 7.Sediment organic matter was classified as high, ranging from 12.29 - 19.46%.The average population density between stations ranged from 1.22-4 ind/m2, the highest density was in station II and the lowest was in station III,while the average value between zones ranged from 0-5 ind/m2,the highest density is in the Lower zone and the lowest in the lower and middle zones of the intertidal zone. Keywords :Population Density, Distribution Pattern, Cerithidea quoyii

The results of this study showed that the highest density was found in Station II which had very coarse sand sediment particles, coarse sand, medium sand and fine sand with a value of 33,99 stands / m2and the lowest density is found in Station III which has very coarse sand sediment particles and coarse sand with a value of 31,88 stands / m2. Morphometric average length of seagrass leaves the longest at Station II with a value of 36,90 cm and the shortest at Station I with a value of 32,29 cm. Morphometric average width of seagrass leaves at Station II with a value of 1,60 cm and the shortest at Station I and III with a value of 1,50 cm. The result ofsimple linear regression test results of the effect of sediment particle size on the density and morphometrics of seagrass leaves with R2(coefficient of determination) = 0,44; 0,22; 0,35 indicate the effect of sediment particle size on the density and morphometrics of seagrass leaves Enhalus acoroides.    Keyword: Sediment Particle Sizes, Seagrass, Density, Morphometrics
