Abstract

AstractOne of the biota that lives in mangrove ecosystems is the gastropod telescopium telescopium. Telescopium telescopium has more active behavior at spring tide (high tide and low tide) than low tide (low tide and high low tide). The weight of the gonad will reach a maximum of a moment when the mangrove snail will spawn, then the weight of the gonad will decrease rapidly as long as the spawning is in progress until complete. This research was carried out in June-July 2018, sampling in the mangrove ecosystem of Ketapang Beach waters, Sungai Cingam Village, Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The samples were analyzed at the Marine Biology Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Riau University. This study aims to determine the population structure of gonad maturity index and habitat conditions of T. telescopium gastropods in Ketapang Beach waters, Sungai Cingam Village, Rupat District. The method used in this research is survey method. Measurement of water quality parameters is carried out in situ, namely temperature, and determination of sampling locations by purposive sampling, salinity and pH, type of substrate in sandy mud dominance. Water quality parameters are still supportive for the life of mangrove snails. Average density of Tcopcopium T in the mangrove forest of Sungai Cingam Village is low. There were no differences in density between the research stations but there were differences in density between the study zones. The average distribution pattern of T. telescopium is clustered. The size of T. telescopium found ranged from 38-87 mm. The main habitat of T. telescopium is in zone 2 (lowere zone). Keywords: Population structure, Telescopium telescopium, Rupat Island.

Abstract

The research was carried out on the breakwater rocks in Water Conservation AreaPariaman West Sumatra Province in May 2013. The goal in conducting this study is tofind out how to survive gastropods in breakwater and sandy beach ecosystems areconstantly subjected to pressure waves. The method used was a survey method thatdirectly observe the behavior and movement of gastropods. There are 5 types of gastropods which have distinctive way of life to survive inthe face of pressure waves. Gastropods movement in the face of pressure waves in thesubmerged breakwater when high tide and exposed to the atmosphere when the low tidesas well as having an active movement, slow and settled. Life pattern gastropods in thesandy habitat gastropods will be attached to rock fragments and other fossil biota. Therewas slow movement that occurs when the wave came. Human impact on the gastropodswill always avoided by attaching themselves to the substrate tightly, closing their shellimmediately and move quickly. Gastropods movement in rock breakwater depends on thecause as something approaching movement (humans and other organisms), exposure tofree air (drought) and the most important is the availability of food. Keywords: Gastropods, survive, breakwaters, pressure waves, West Sumatera

Abstract

AbstractMacrozoobenthos is a living organism that is relatively sedentary (sessile) and has varying adaptability to environmental conditions. In addition, macrozobenthos is also widely used as an indicator of pollution. This research was conducted in the waters of Pasumpahan Island, Bungus Subdistrict, Padang City, West Sumatera Province in April 2018, aiming to know macrozoobenthos community structure which includes: type, abundance, index of species diversity, uniformity index, dominance index and distribution pattern. Sampling using line transect method is done on 3 stations. The results of the study found 4 classes of macrozoobenthos with 9 species, where the value of macrozoobenthos abundance obtained ranged from 3.22 to 3.78 ind/m2. The index value of diversity of species ranged from 0.40 to 0.57 is relatively low, while the value of uniformity index ranged from 0.12 to 0.19 is not balanced, the value of the dominance index ranged from 0.12 to 0.18 ie no species which dominates and the value of the distribution pattern ranges from 3.21 to 5.09 with the pattern of distribution in groups. Keywords: Makrozoobenthos, Intertidal Zone, Pasumpahan Island, Community Structure

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to: to know the potential of Pasia Tiku beach to be developed as marine ecotourism area, and to make tourism development strategy of Pasia Tiku beach as maritime tourism. Pasia Tiku beach as one of the beaches located in Agam Regency West Sumatera Province is assumed to have marine tourism potential which is very nice. The existing tourist attraction has not been developed optimally and has not been managed properly by the manager to make Pasia Tiku Beach as a maritime tourist attraction by tourists. Method used in this research is survey method that is by way of direct observation to the field and measure the data which is needed qualitatively and quantitatively.Based on the calculation of total score and weight of IFE and EFE obtained respectively of 2.75 and 2.96. Total IFE <EFE above 2.5 then the external factor condition is stronger than its internal factor. It can be concluded that in developing marine tourism area at Pasia Tiku beach to pay attention is the strong external factor to get chance at the time of development. The ecotourism development strategy at Pasia Tiku beach is to create environmental action action program, make zoning tour plan, create tourist attraction that has cultural value while maintaining the authenticity of tourist area. It then improves coordination with various parties to provide training and improve the development of facilities and infrastructure, enhance the creativity of local communities in tourism businesses that do not provide environmental change, take advantage of the authenticity and naturalness of the beach and enhance tourist attractions to attract local and foreign tourists to come to Pasia beach Tiku. Keywords: Tourism Potential, Tourism Development, Marine Tourism.
