Abstract

This study aims to identify the pattern of product purchases that often occur simultaneously at a gadget store in order to develop a more effective sales strategy. The research problem focuses on how to find associations between products based on sales transaction data. The proposed solution is to apply data mining techniques, specifically a priori algorithms, to analyze transaction data and find significant association rules. The A priori algorithm is used through several stages, including the calculation of support for each item, the elimination of items with support below the minimum threshold, the formation of itemset combinations, and the calculation of confidence to generate association rules. The results showed two association rules that met the minimum confidence threshold (60%), namely: (1) If customers buy USB-C, they tend to buy Powerbank (confidence: 67%), and (2) If customers buy Smartwatches, they tend to buy Screen Protectors (confidence: 67%), and (3) If customers buy Screen Protectors, they tend to buy Smartwatches (confidence: 100%). These patterns can be used by the store for strategic product placement and bundling promotions.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the narrative writing skills of seventh-grade students at MTs Alwasiyah Pantai Labu through the implementation of the STAD (Student Teams Achievement Divisions) learning method. The research was conducted as a Classroom Action Research (CAR) over two cycles, each comprising one meeting, involving 22 students as research participants. The study employed the Kemmis and McTaggart model, utilizing observation, written tests, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods by calculating the class average scores. The success criteria were set at a minimum class average score of 70 and at least 80% of students achieving mastery learning. The results indicated that the pre-action average score was 64.7 with 8 students not achieving mastery, which improved to 73.4 in the second cycle with only 3 students not achieving mastery. These findings demonstrate that the application of the STAD method effectively enhances students’ narrative writing skills and their learning motivation.

Abstract

In the current digital era, there is an increasing demand for teachers to provide effective instructional media that facilitate students' understanding of the material. The role of the teacher becomes crucial in achieving quality learning outcomes. Therefore, teachers must engage directly with students and their surrounding environment to create meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to examine the utilization of effective instructional media in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based learning. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. The findings indicate that the use of ICT-based instructional media enhances students' learning interest, improves their learning attitudes, and fosters a more engaging and effective learning environment. Additionally, creative teaching practices by teachers can positively impact the overall quality of student learning.

Abstract

Permasalahan hukum keluarga dan pelanggaran hak anak masih sering terjadi di masyarakat urban dan semi-urban, termasuk di Kelurahan Perdamaian, Kecamatan Stabat, Kabupaten Langkat. Rendahnya literasi hukum menjadi alasan utama pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat oleh tim dosen dan mahasiswa Universitas Putra Abadi Langkat. Kegiatan bertema “Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Edukasi Hukum Keluarga dan Perlindungan Anak Berbasis Media Digital” ini dilaksanakan pada 17 Juli 2025 sebagai bentuk implementasi Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Pendekatan yang digunakan bersifat edukatif dan partisipatif melalui presentasi interaktif, video edukasi, leaflet digital, dan simulasi kasus sederhana. Mahasiswa berperan aktif dalam pendampingan peserta, terutama dalam pelatihan teknis penggunaan media digital. Dokumentasi kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk foto dan video sebagai arsip institusi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terhadap hukum keluarga dan perlindungan anak, serta respons positif terhadap metode pembelajaran digital. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan literasi hukum masyarakat, tetapi juga membentuk model edukasi yang adaptif dan replikatif. Selain itu, kegiatan ini memperkuat kolaborasi antara perguruan tinggi dan masyarakat dalam upaya pemberdayaan hukum secara berkelanjutan.
