Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that cause interference among VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Ubud in 2021. The expectation of using Bahasa Indonesia properly and correctly has often been carried out. The use of Bahasa Indonesia among junior high school students, especially VII grade students, found that there were many deviations both inside and outside the classroom. Those deviations were found by the authors when observing during the learning process in class and during breaks outside the classroom. In addition, the results of the interview also showed that interference occurs and the causes of interference. The causes of interference in VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Ubud in 2021 were prestigious motives, waning loyalty to Indonesian, bilinguality on students, loss of vocabulary, the need to clarify speech, tendency to use foreign languages ​​and carry over of habits in local languages. This should be overcome by familiarizing and monitoring student communication in Bahasa Indonesia, both in the Bahasa Indonesia language learning process and other fields of study. Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, tradisi lisan mendongeng mulai ditinggalkan. Tradisi lisan bercerita kepada masyarakat sangat penting dalam upaya menyampaikan konsep yang baik berdasarkan kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendidikan Tri Hita Karana yang terkandung dalam cerita ‘Monyet dan Penenun Lurik’ dan implementasinya dalam kehidupan masyarakat Ubud. Data dikumpulkan dari studi dokumentasi dan wawancara dengan 62 orang masyarakat Ubud. Peneliti mendokumentasikan sinopsis cerita dan menganalisis implementasi esensi cerita dalam kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat Ubud. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Tri Hita Karana, muncul dalam cerita. Pelaksanaannya berdasarkan cerita tersebut juga dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat Ubud, seperti upacara yang dilakukan ditujukan kepada Tuhan (Parahyangan). Hubungan yang harmonis antara masyarakat Ubud dengan wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Ubud (Pawongan). Masyarakat Ubud melestarikan tumbuhan dan hewan (Palemahan). Dengan diterapkannya pendidikan Tri Hita Karana, masyarakat Ubud meyakini akan berdampak signifikan terhadap terwujudnya kesejahteraan masyarakat.

Abstract

21st Century Skills and Information Literacy are very important to know about their development in the lecture process in tertiary institutions. Profiling has yet to be carried out to map this in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. Therefore, this research aims to profile 21st Century Skills and Information Literacy in Indonesian Language and Literature Education. This type of research is mixed methods research using a Concurrent Embedded Design. The respondents were 30 undergraduate students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education. Methods of data collection using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The research instruments used were questionnaires, interview guides, and observation sheets. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U Test. The study's results, namely critical thinking skills and problem-solving, communication and collaboration, creativity and innovation, and information literacy skills, still needed to be higher for most students. Only the Creativity and Innovation Skills skills differed significantly between the upper and lower semesters. The study findings are discussed, followed by a review of the implications for educational institutions, policymakers, and future research.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the forms and meanings of compound words in Balinese. The data were collected from Balinese speakers, literature, and the researcher’s intuition as a Balinese speaker. In data analysis, it implemented distributional and referential (identity) methods. The research results were presented in formal and informal manners. The results found that Balinese compounds have noun, verb, and adjective classes. Noun compound words have these construction patterns: noun + noun, noun + verb, and noun + adjective. Verb compound words only have verb + noun patterns. Adjective compound nouns have adjective + adjective and adjective + pre-categorical patterns. Furthermore, there are eleven meanings found in compound words, such as utility, place, time, jurisdiction, similarity in forms, to be like habitat, opposite mixed nature, like its origin, resemblance, and intensity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze aspects of the main character’s personality and the factors that influence the main character’s personality in the novel Supernova Episode Particle by Dee Lestari using academic psychology. The theory used in finding the main character’s personality was the Heymans theory. The method used was descriptive qualitative. The data were obtained from books related to this research, both theoretical and factual data from the novel Supernova Episode Particle. The data collection method used in this research was the library method. The data were analyzed using data triangulation, in which there are several steps, namely: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. This study found data that supports the research focus, namely aspects of the main character’s personality and the factors that influence the main character’s personality. The study results found that Zarah, as the main character, has a personality that tends to be passionate, phlegmatic and choleric. Factors that influence Zarah’s personality are genetic, environmental, cultural, and experience factors.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify nouns in the Balinese language. This study aims to analyze the morphological form of nouns, their syntactical features, and their semantic roles. The data were collected from Balinese speakers, libraries, and researchers who are native Balinese speakers. The data were analyzed using the distributional and referential identity methods. The results showed that Balinese nouns have monomorphic and polymorphic forms. In its syntactic features, nouns may join demonstratives, numerals, and adjectives and may be omitted with the word ‘no.’ In its semantic roles, nouns can mean the perpetrator, the patient, the receiver, the means, the time, and the known.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the genetic relationship between Balinese and Madurese through historical linguistics study. The results show that the percentage of genetic relationships in both languages is 47% and was presumed to diverge around 278 - 443 AD (as in 2018). Qualitatively, there are fifteen sets of sound correspondences, i.e., / a - e /, / i - e /, / ə - a /, / a - ə /, / ə - e /, / u - o /, / ∅ - Ɂ /, / k - Ɂ /, / h - r /, / t - Ɂ /, / h - ∅ /, / b - bh /, / g - gh /, / d - dh /, and / j - jh /. Balinese maintained 23 proto lexicons in Proto-Austronesian lexicons (12%), a retention more than Madurese’s five lexicons (2.5%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan eksistensi bahasa Indonesia dalam komunikasi praktisi public relation. Penelitian ini tergolong ke dalam penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek yang terlibat pada penelitian ini yakni praktisi public relation di wilayah pariwisata. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode observasi dan wawancara dengan instrumen penelitian berupa pedoman wawancara dan pedoman observasi. Proses observasi dalam penelitian dilakukan untuk memperoleh data tentang sikap-sikap penutur atau praktisi public relation terhadap bahasa Indonesia. Wawancara dilakukan secara langsung bercakap-cakap di tempat kerja individu atau praktisi public relation. Data yang diperoleh pada penelitian kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif, yang dikaitkan dengan hasil penelitian terdahulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa eksistensi bahasa Indonesia dalam komunikasi praktisi public relation masih tergolong rendah.  Hal ini dapat diketahui dari hasil observasi dan wawancara yang menunjukkan bahwa para praktisi cenderung lebih banyak menggunakan bahasa asing dan bahasa campuran. Selain itu komunikasi praktisi public relation dengan masyarakat sekitar menggunakan bahasa Indonesia bercampur bahasa Bali dan bahasa Inggris. Penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar penting dibina dan dikembangkan untuk memperlancar komunikasi dengan wisatawan yang menggunakan bahasa Indonesia maupun dengan masyarakat.

Abstract

Cultivating moral values for students is a big problem in the education world, especially learning Indonesian. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of the integration of traditional Balinese children's song lyrics in Indonesian learning toward the cultivation of moral education for elementary school students in Ubud. This research used a mixed method approach, namely the concurrent embedded model as a research method. The population of this research was all students, parents, teachers, and principals of  SDN 1, SDN 2, SDN 3, SDN 4 and SDN 5 Ubud. The sample used was 70 students, 70 parents, and 5 homeroom teachers who were taken using purposive sampling method. The data collection methods used were observation, interview and questionnaire sheets. The instrument used was non-test instrument in the form of a moral attitude questionnaire. The analysis techniques used were qualitative descriptive statistical and quantitative with pair sample t-test. The result of the research shows that the sig. pair sample t-test value is 0,000 < then 0,005. The conclusion of this research is the traditional Balinese song could be integrated in Indonesian learning which is significantly effected towards moral attitude of elementary students in Ubud. The implication of this research is able to instill the important character values for students’ life

Abstract

IKIP Saraswati is a multicultural campus where people come from various regions and ethnicities and is known as a campus whose advantages include being professional, character and competitive, as well as a campus strategically located in Tabanan. This situation provides excellent opportunities for students to communicate with people from different cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds. Generally, they speak Balinese, the local language spoken throughout Bali. Meanwhile, because of involvement with those who speak a different language, Bahasa Indonesia is increasingly used. Related to this situation, this research investigated the language choice among students at IKIP Saraswati. This study also examined their language attitudes towards Bahasa Indonesia, daily language, and regional languages in achieving goals. The sociolinguistic questionnaires were administered to 58 sample respondents who were IKIP Saraswati students. The study results showed that students have an appreciative attitude towards the daily language of Bahasa Indonesia, English, and regional languages. An investigation into the choice of language shows that students prefer to communicate using Bahasa Indonesia. The dominance of Bahasa Indonesia shifts the use of regional languages.
